Important note, Little Mizu COULD stand up for herself. Those bullies were other children. Yes, I'm sure adults called her names too, but probably didn't throw rocks and chase her to a cliff edge, and she found a nice care taker pretty soon after becoming orphaned. Ringo COULDN'T stand up for himself. His bully was his father, an adult. How was little Ringo supposed to fight a grown adult. His only logical opinion was to become kinder, quieter, gentler. His only caretaker was his abuser, and he never got to escape his abuser until Mizu came around. Then the first chance he got to escape he went for it. No heartfelt goodbye to his father, final fight, or discussion about it. He just up and left.
Sure the other bullies were children but they were ganging up on her. She couldn’t defend herself from 7-8 kids her age or older attacking her. Also I doubt the ones who set her house on fire were children.
Makes you wonder: since he is a supreme chef, what will happen to the family's restaurant after that? "Dear Ringo: please please please come back! The customers hate my food... and we need you. Signed, your father." 🤦
An important thing to note is that Japan, especially in this time, highly valued conforming to social norms to a severe degree. Not only do some people treat Ringo poorly, but nearly all of his society either looks at him with disgust, superiority, disdain, shame, or if they're kind, pity. That gives his optimism and determination an interesting flair because it's not just a few people's expectations that he's overcoming, but an entire culture.
Typically the "plucky sidekick" annoys me to no end, but Ringo was so endearing and loveable, yet sad. Couldn't help but love him. A great character in a show full of great characters. Sidenote, I love your giggles and squeals when you get excited in these videos.

I've been like Ringo as a kid. And it invited people to pick on me even more. My mom raised me to simply be nicer to the ones picking on me and to welcome them with open arms. It presented no consecquences and constantly backfired. It took one pivotal moment to change all of that. I walked out of that incident traumatized and warped. And I thought I was just stronger. But I became an untrusting ball of angst and PTSD with a huge chip on my shoulder. Basically a nuke that just went off on everyone. Even those who didn't deserve it. It took years for me to come to terms with that abuse and sort of rehabilitate myself.
I really enjoyed watching Blue Eye Samurai, and it's so great you're doing analysis on this series. I think Ringo is "naturally stealthy" because he's learnt to be quiet and out of the way in his father's noodle shop. Looking forward to your analysis on other characters like Taigen and Akemi.
Please do more follow-up videos on Mizu, especially the part where she is betrayed by her husband--an event that cemented her personality into the dark anti-hero that she is.
@@gameoverinsertcointocontin8102 The whole point of the scene is it doesn't matter. Mizu thinks one of them did and doesn't care about either of them anymore.

Ringo is the Sweetest most precious baby boy and I love him so much ❤ what's really nice is that he has an extensive character development arc throughout the story. But still manages to keep that cute and earnest personally. Even in the hardest part of the story 😊 keep up the great work Georgia! Love the cosplays as per the usual 😁
I can relate so much to Ringo because like him I’ve had a ‘hard life’ but like him, I’m an optimist. He also proves himself incredibly useful and he’s overcome many hardships. He sticks with Mizu through many trials, which reveals his loyalty to her.
Oooh… I have never heard that an anxious attachment style pairs well with an avoidant one. Mostly I have heard that is a recipe for a pretty toxic relationship!
I know it'll be awhile but I'm really looking forward to the inevitable Fowler video. Probably the best villain I've seen in at least a year maybe 2, that speech about surviving a famine was absolutely gripping.
Is it just me, or is Ringo like a Japanese/human Perrito from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish? Ringo is written so nuanced and useful. As for the cosplay, using fabric to simulate the vest is great. Just like how Gibi used towels for her Shrek video.
Awww, her reaction to talking about the Ringo character was touching. She even got choked up. You can tell Georgia has been through some shit in her own life, and really felt connected to this character. I am willing to bet she turned to psychology as an answer to some things she has life through. Great vid.
Please try considering reacting to "Detroit Become Human" In this game, Robots develop feeling. They start to feel fear, love and anxiety, but in a odd robotic way. It would be interesting to see your perspective on it.
Georgia! LOVE the Ringo cosplay. But on you, it is also reminiscent of Olivia Newton John. I was involved with a person who could actually be MISERABLE in The Happiest Place on Earth. In the end, The Dark Side of the Force took her over completely. Despite my efforts. Also, Bullies THRIVE on complacent victims. Confrontation is too often the only way to deal with the situation. Consequences for such behavior can indeed change things for the better.
His biggest flaw is he magically holds kitchen utensils, ingredients, etc. even though he has no hands. He can rock climb with no hands. That is his biggest flaw.
I feel bad for Ringo after your analysis because I haven't seen Blue eye samurai since Nov and now going through and understanding who he is and how he carries him. Even though trying to help mizu and understand her which she makes clear that she does not want him near because he'll die. And him being attached to mizu is the worst thing he could do for his well-being and him being disappointed by who mizu is as a person that's on him. Because she gave him too many warnings he ignored them it's on him. But I do like his positive outlook on life and seeing the good in others but he needs to try to read the room.
Evil people see kindness, mercy and forgiveness. Some people reach out to evil people with km&f and it doesn’t result in a positive outcome and they think more km&f will change them, but it doesn’t.
Special request for a character analysis on Akemi and Taigen and possibly a villain analysis on Abijah Fowler ooo and Seki as well 🙏 love to hear more of your thoughts 😁 #Like if you agree #Please&ThankYou
Ha! Yes! The sign he improvised to use as a hat. I'm guessing there may have been some discussion in the Dow household as to whether or not it was worth it to drill holes in their cutting board to attach string for one video. = )
I think you might be missing the point.... Ringo is moral anchor of the series. Despite the clear horror and wanton violence... He sees the good in Mizu and the lot until MIZU forcibly turns him away. The writers of Blue-Eye Samurai did an amazing job.
i do the talking thing that you mentioned. usually when its an anxiety response i end my rambling with "im sorry" and when i do it when im excited i tend to leave the end of the ramble open for other people to talk about their opinions.
Ringo is my favorite character in BES. i don't care how deep Mizu or Taigen or Akemi are (a video on Akemi would be cool). Ringo just radiates wholesomeness, innocence, and is just adorable. I love how he can be powerful when he wants to be "a samurai is honorable. you are no samurai", but can be playing with the kids like he's one of them. He's just beautiful.
Tried to be like Ringo as a kid. You get nowhere good by trying to ingrariate yourself with people who see you as subhuman. You can be kind, considerate, helpful, but all they will ever see is a tool at best and at worst a potential threat.
Ringo is so sweet.🥹 How he looks up to Mizu and was very persevering to following her. Especially when Ringo told Mizu “My whole life has been a battle”. I don’t why, but that low-key made me feel deep care for Ringo.🥲
I looked up “tanuki” after hearing Ringo’s story of getting lost looking for a place to pee. I figured it was a type of monkey, but it’s a little raccoon-fox looking thing. Super cute.
I think Ringo is excitable, but he's socially brilliant and plays dumb.He seems to really understand violent people and how to manage them. I hope that Mizu will do something for Ringo because the relationship is very unidirectional.

For one to fully understand this character, they first need to better understand the culture of Japan in this timeline. His stature is more than diminished by his physical birth, but even moreso by the class of his birth. His being quiet, gentle, and even sweet, is for service. His ultimate goal is to be a Samerai; meaning "to serve". The Samerai are forever in service, and respected for it. To be of use is his goal, not for himself, even his being selfish is for others. And what isn't isn't what should be.... a goal should be something worth believing in, and not what would do you well. Ikigai is another japanese word worth studying.
