I stand corrected, It was released Jan 1, 1973 under the ghost name Grant Moros, which he used and anagram for every occult themed LP, but not his regular albums, Garson also went by Mother Earth, Z, Lucifer...any arm-chair Occultist can figure it out, there's no mistaking it's him, Grant Moros=MORT GARSON...think Rosemary's Baby...Roman=Marcato, Unbelievable find, in my 40 yrs of collecting him I have never heard of this, Damn, now I'm missing two instead of one (Love Sounds, and now Mysteries) for God's sake please don't get it taken down like Love Sounds, at least until I can find it,lol (the real thing not the amazon cd).
Great stuff!! Another gem from ol' Mort. Anybody else ever wonder what the extent of his involvement with the occult was? Much of his work seems heavily influenced by it and is steeped in esotericism.
I REALLY DOUBT THAT IS A REAL MORT GARSON RECORD , SIMPLY BEACAUSE IT WASN' T MENTIONED in any biographical document prior to recent years , BUT ANYWAY AS A MATTER OF FACT THAT'S A VERY GOOD IMITATION OF IT !!!
I feel like this is a Marvin Pontiac type situation. They did a good job though. I would actually talk to this Johnny Madwreck guy so he can deny making this .
This seems pretty fishy, on the bandcamp page for this, it says that it was recorded in Patch Chord Studios in Los Angeles and that a company named Fonetap Music currently owns the rights to it. The only info i can find on Fonetap Music and Patch Chord Studios is on the bandcamp page, so i kind of doubt that this a genuine Mort Garson recording, but whoever made this did a good job of imitating his style.
i'm not convinced either... and that vague story about the lone copy being found inside a hidden compartment in a closet is awfully convenient. until there is further proof i'm a skeptic. i don't think it's a bad album but if it's a modern one it is kinda.. not cool to try and capitalise on mort garsons name and the resurging interest in his work, especially as legit releases are hard to come by and/or are expensive. i had a look at the discogs pages for a few of his other 70's albums and something called Patchcord Studios or Patchcord Electronic Studios does come up for both Plantasia and Ataraxia. similarily Patchcord Productions comes up as Morts production company. weird that he would misspell it on this one album, hmm...
To be fair to the original artist, they never actually claim this is a long lost Mort Garson album, they just heavily imply it. I still like it though.
Hey RodrigoMajony. I've looked for information on this album and not found anything. The backstory posted on bandcamp is very good but I'm not sure I believe it. What's your source on this album being made by John McKeever? I'd really like to know more.
How the hell did you find a copy of this? Also, watch your plantasia video compared to others, there is something missing from the version you uploaded.
You can find the copy here grantmoros.bandcamp.com/releases, the video of plantasia try to upload it with the highest possible quality, you can also download the original in the description.
He created video game music. This man is a legend. Ya’ll are sleeping. One man band, his compositions are like the sounds of the universe. As far as the occult is concerned, I would never be part of a club that would accept me as a member.
I don't believe this is Mort Garson, or if it is it's not from 1973. Just doesn't feel like it could have been recorded that long ago. I do think it's a great album but the story just doesn't feel real.
if this was labelled as "retro new wave" with a picture of some synth punk muscle car and palm trees it would have 500k

MY GOD, I love Mort Garson.
Hey I don't think this is Mort hardon. Just someone who has talent on Moog. The theme is alike but they're character is different.
I feel like this is a Marvin Pontiac type situation. They did a good job though. I would actually talk to this Johnny Madwreck guy so he can deny making this .
first. also thats one heck of a tone shift form plantasia to this
Maybe you'll like black mass or ataraxia too
this came before plantasia
then i really like how his music evovled
Tony spoiler warning: this probably isn't mort garson, just a modern pastiche. The points above about Ataraxis and black mass are still valid though.
This is incredible, thank you so much!
so gooood
new album the mort garson you are so cool bro
The Hidden Master

here to say, a few years later, that patch cord studios was 100% legitimate and was something mort worked with at multiple times
@@geckobrain Wow. Plot twist
it sounds too clean imo
Isso é tão incrível que me deixa indignada

amazing.
Anyone else think 10:45 sounds just like The Phantom Train from ff6? I guess it wasn't just Zelda that took from Mort Garson.
Are the songs cutting off suddenly intentional, an audio error, or me just going mad as I delve into the occult???
This is so great
2024 San Francisco amazed
my fav one from mort garson
It says on Amazon it was released in 2010, i have everything by him , I've never heard of this, are you sure it's him, and circa 1967-72 ?
Me recuerda un montón a Alucarda de Juan López Moctezuma.
Tremendamente cierto

ISN'T THIS GUY THE COMPOSER OF DOFUSS MUSIC?

Ah, I had thought you found a copy of Mysteries on vinyl.
Only 100 limited units were sold in 2010, it is almost impossible to find a vinyl copy of this album.

rip fake mort this is good as fuck though
This absolutely is Mort Garson, it's his character sound and creation that can't be duplicated. Don't be dumb.
Its absolutely NOT Mort Garson! It's a fan tribute and a bit of a comic hoax.
Mort garson is grant moros he was involved in the occult and this is his songs for them probably
Well it wasn't him

Awesome work. But I say it's not a real Mort. Listen to 22:45 - the artist couldn't help himself/herself from getting too fancy with it :)
