The best rendition of A Christmas Carol to date. I have read the book and viewed all versions. And yes, while the 1951 Alistair Sim version is superb and widely regarded as "the definitive movie version", this latest one edges it with solid performances, technologically stunning imagery, and a lush soundtrack (yes, tradition Christmas Carols are relevant!).
If you watch Jim Carrey's BIGGEST movies.... those he really rises to the occasion on....it's flippin' amazing! Ace Ventura introduced Jim to us at the best time because that movie was a MUCH needed escape from Nazis and Aids (Schindler's List and Philedelphia) Liar Liar was funny yet somewhat dramatic. Cable Guy was dark comedy; funny yet creepy. That's where Jim started to turn the corner into drama. The Truman Show worked the drama edge. And Jim done a few understated movies, since, where he wasn't even the star of the movie. Simon Birch, I think, was one of them. Man on the Moon was flipping awesome! He disappeared into these characters ....Tony Clifton ALONE was a mind bender. The Grinch was comedically tortured. There was a story behind that character that you didn't know, from the cartoon. And Scrooge, from The (Disney) Christmas Carol. Almost like Man on the Moon, Jim tackled a lot of characters with various personality layers. GOOD WORK! 👍👍
This man has so much talent it’s unbelievable to watch him slip in and out of character. It’s like every part he’s ever taken was already a part of him he just had to switch it on.
Personally I think Jim Carrey version of Scrooge is easily the best. The characters design literally is the what Scrooge would look like. He looks creepy. Parts of his body like his fingers, his chin, his elbows, everything is so thin and pointy. His bent over stance and mannerisms work so well too. Even his voice fits.
Hard for me to say.. the grinch I like bc he hate the fact that it’s gifts and things and it all ends up in the garbage. But eb I like bc I relate to him a lot and his change is beautiful
I’ve written a retelling of ‘A Christmas Carol,’ but it isn’t about Christmas; it’s about our Liberation Day! Our ‘Scrooge’ is called Monzer Zaarour, and he doesn’t give the day off to his clerk... The novella is titled ‘A Liberation Carol.’

Jim Carrey is one of the best actors to this day like so many legends like Adam West and Robin Williams he will alway be adored by his fans
Extraordinary person and actor
To think, Jim Carrey went from the Grinch to Ebenezer Scrooge.

Jesus loves you so much that he died on the cross floor for you so please repent and spread the gospel
In recent years, Jim Carrey has been a “miserable” character with all his anti-Trump nonsense. ☹️
Trump is literally the modern day Scrooge 😂 wtf are you talking about
