Roro vs. His Emotions

  • Three boys… Three different personalities and one 3-day-old infant. These are the conversations we have EVERY DAY in this house. Someone is always upset, angry or confused about their feelings and yes I take the time to talk them through their thoughts even when they are wrong.
Boys rarely get to exist in spaces where they can be vulnerable and express themselves without ridicule or judgement. Those boys typically grow up to be emotionally unavailable and hurt men. Accountability and honesty can change all of that if covered with love.

The Bible and experience taught me how, even when my family tried to suppress me. Truth is, people will say you're sensitive when doing so because, they don't want to be accountable for their actions, lack thereof or what comes out of their mouth. Parents are supposed to be our validator, when right or wrong.

It’s at this very moment that we can all understand why God gave Devale 4 boys. I’m 35 and I must say that I have honestly never seen a father speak with such compassion, patience, and understanding while also teaching in a positive light to their sons until now. He did it with such love & security. This video speaks volumes on the type of man Devale is and the type of men the boys will grow into. I pray that my future husband has this type of approach with our family.

Just hearing his dad tone in explaining and teaching him at the same time was what our young Kings need no yelling no screaming just teaching and explaining. He sealed it with a hug and kiss.❤ dad to son= one day will grow to be prince 2 king. Good job Devale 💯 love it. Kay you have 4 special ones in your life💯

I see now being allowed to cry and somebody helping me process my emotions would’ve been so nice. Man I cant wait to be a dad to my son. Thanks for the inspiration.

Yes. I have 3 and people criticize me when I talk to mine like this. It's looked at in our community as babying or spoiling but every mistake a child makes doesn't warrant a spanking/whooping. A.k.a why most people from millennials on back have so called childhood trauma, misplaced emotions and for a lot of men being told to not show emotions sad or otherwise. This was a rant but your words said all this and more tho ☺️

I initially felt conflicted about seeing Roro cry on camera, but I had to remember that this specific video is also part of the human experience and it’s ridiculous for us to expect RUclipsrs to only show us the “good” or “happy” moments. I took this as a teaching moment for me and others who didn’t experience this type of discipline. Children can be taught with love.

The fact that Kairo, at five years old was able to identify and articulate that how he felt hurt is so endearing to me and is a testament to just how much he is nurtured emotionally by his parents. More of our boys and girls need this type of parenting to be emotionally healthy and to feel supported by the people they love. This was awesome to watch 💜.
