1:06:55 that's basically the when the game is at it's peak. the moments where he alien is rushing at you are terrifying, but those moments where you know it's there, and have to deal with something on the side, taking your eyes away from the creature that one shots you on sight, and having to pray that it doesn't come round that corner while you handle whatever has you between a rock and a hard place, are the height of tension.
I think you’ve inspired me to make my own retrospective on this game. It’s a game that’s so incredibly special to me personally, and this video is amazing.
1:19:30 there's actually exactly this scenario late in the game. Looked down and saw one crawling through the side grate next to me after finishing a space walk. Heart palpitations and hiding ensued
Randomly got a notification for this comment on my phone. Later in the video I bring up the same thing again Super cool and scary for sure that first time. I just hoped for less scripted versions of it!
28:55 finding the blueprints early is something a lot of players actually fail to do. Blueprints have multiple different spawn locations so that if a player misses one of the earlier locations, they can still find one of the later ones. A lot of players I've seen missed the first medkit blueprint you found for example. So, the pacing of blueprints will vary from one player to another.
Thank you so much for your incredible contribution to the reviewer’s lore of the Alien franchise. I love the whole universe. Keep it up and thanks again for your well thought out entry. 🙂
Great review my friend, i can see your love for this fantastic game, i love it too, i hope creative assembly makes a even better one on alien isolation 2 as they revelaed its on early development, i cant wait for it to get released! :D I subbed
@@fallinghurts i hope they keep the same recipe, another scenario perhaps, but i think if they keep this same formula it will be a hit CA could also make, if possible, an 'alien isolation' game having john carpenters 'the thing' theme, it would be amazing
I played this to over 40 Times and i played it on 100%. I Love this Game It's true Horror and verry verry scarry. I'm so Happy thatsm a second Game is incomming ✌️
The comics exists as a possible sequel hope CA follow that which is somewhat of a shoot em up which may be unfortunate for some but great for most cause one we get to have a proper aliens game and 2 the story is gonna continue that hopefully has more lore and depth added a sequel that can hold it’s own candle to the likes of aliens terminator 2 and other great sequels in film and games
I liked Romulus a lot. A good story with great characters and pretty good tense sequences. My only major complaint was they used CGI to have a dead actor in the movie and while they say they had permission it was unnecessary and quite frankly it looked ugly. If I had to give a number score.. 7? 7.5?
@DRAGONSSCREAM it’s even worse when you realize that in the timeline he says it BEFORE Ripley. It wasn’t as bad for me as most people, but still idk what the point was
I admit, I have a love hate relationship with this game. Some parts flow so smoothly while other parts are (possibly) more annoying than getting teeth pulled with no anaesthetic.
@@fallinghurts grew up watching the Alien movies, all of them. It is hard to really fall in love with Alien Isolation's play styles, after having played Alien vs Predator 2. As a marine (in AVPS) you automatically have a motion senor in the bottom left of the HUD, in isolation you have to equip it and pull it out and avoid being heard. I know it is only a small thing but it still bugged me. The remake of Alien vs predator is worse than Alien Isolation. Control prompts everywhere that break immersion and the faction balance is wacky. But they are all still part of the alien universe and so I love them even if they are annoying to complete. Also, I really enjoyed your video essay and subscribed to catch any future uploads.
Look, what happened on Sevastopol is sad. It's a tragedy, no doubt. But I mean... it wasn't a Wey-Yu facility. Right? Like. Those people CHOSE to work for an inferior company. They got what they paid for, right? You'd NEVER see something like this happening on a proper Weyland-Yutani facility. We're building better worlds! The Company cares about us, the working men and women! That's what all the signs say, at least!
im a simple man, i see multi hour retrospective, i click
Thank you brother. Let me know what you think!

You should! I’ve done this for both Alien and Firewatch now. It’s very therapeutic to analyze something you’re already passionate about.

That’s a good way to look at it. Easy to forget people don’t have those locations partially memorized. Thanks for stopping by!
I'm not going to lie, the thumbnail gave me a crisis , that was already 10 years.
Nostalgia is a weird thing!
Just completed the game on hard, what a game , what a ride , what an experience.

Thank you for the kind words! By your wording, you must be a big Alien fan. Do you have a favorite game outside of Isolation?

Only two hours? That's a good warmup for my neurodivergent bingewatching needs.
It’s cool. I just finished a 2 part, 20 hour essay on Skyrim. Thanks for stopping by!
I just beat this game last week after ten years lol man what a game
youtube gods landing a long essay in my recommended videos 🙏
I hope you enjoy, Puzzleguy123

Did you feel your face muscles tense up like mine did when he "get away from her you bitch" in that film. @@fallinghurts

I love the imagery LMAO. I get that. I also acknowledge that being an alien fan puts me at a huge bias. Though, I’m sure I know those exact sections.
