  • ཀཿ་ཐོག A clip of a long life ceremony for His Holiness Katog Moktsa Rinpoche, one of the Five Golden Throne Holders of the Katog Lineage.
Included in the video is an image of forefathers of the Katog Lineage: Katog Dampa Deshek, Rigdzin Dudul Dorje & Longsal Nyingpo.
The Katog Monastery (sometimes written as Katok or Kathok in the phonetics), is one of the six principal ("mother") monasteries of the Nyingma school.
"Katog Dorjeden was founded in 1159 by a younger brother of Phagmo Drupa Dorje Gyalpo, Katog Dampa Deshek, at Derge, the historic seat of the Kingdom of Derge in Kham. After the original gompa fell into disrepair and it was rebuilt on the same site in 1656 through the impetus of tertöns Düddül Dorjé (1615-72) and Rigdzin Longsal Nyingpo (1625-1682/92 or 1685-1752)."
