The Weapon System With the Fire Control System and Kornet-E Guided Weapon Designed to Equip Armoured Vehicles
Designed to upgrade light combat vehicles (IFV, APS and others).
Components:
armament including a 30mm 2A42 automatic cannon and a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, two launchers for the Kornet-E ATGMs (one launcher for two missiles) and a 30mm automatic grenade launcher (AG-30);
automated day/night Fire Control System;
armoured cupola with a basket and seats for the crew members.
The fighting vehicle equipped with the new weapon system obtains innovative capabilities:
firing capability by any ammunition by day and at night, on the move and afloat;
automatic target tracking;
improved fire accuracy by any ammunition;
increased rate of fire by missiles;
extended range of target detection and recognition;
effective anti-aircraft fire;
reliable engagement of up-to-date and future tanks;
firing capability against entrenched manpower equipped with antitank weapons.
Sighting and observation system comprises optical, thermal and TV-channels and provides the gunner and the commander with effective capabilities to fire at any target in current combat operations.

Комплекс вооружения предназначен для модернизации боевых машин легкой категории по массе (БМП, БМД, БТР и т.д.).
Состав:
вооружение состоит из 30-мм автоматической пушки 2А42 и спаренного 7,62-мм пулемета, двух пусковых установок ПТУР "Корнет-Э", каждая на две ракеты, и 30-мм автоматического гранатомета (АГ-30М);
автоматическая всесуточная система управления огнем;
броневой колпак с корзиной и местами для членов экипажа.
Возможна установка отдельных составных частей комплекса вооружения на имеющиеся боевые отделения боевых машин, в целях повышения их боевого могущества.
Боевая машина при размещении на ней нового комплекса вооружения получает принципиально новые качества:
стрельба всеми типами боеприпасов днем, ночью, с ходу и на плаву;
автоматическое сопровождение целей;
повышение точности стрельбы всеми типами боеприпасов;
повышение скорострельности ПТУР;
увеличение дальности обнаружения и опознавания целей;
эффективная зенитная стрельба;
поражение современных и перспективных танков;
поражение танкоопасной живой силы, расположенной в окопе.
Прицельно-наблюдательный комплекс включает оптический, телевизионный и тепловизионный каналы и позволяет наводчику и командиру вести эффективные боевые действия со всей номенклатурой целей, встречающихся в современном бою.

@@glorymanheretosleep Yes, the main problem is that the BMP is a Cold War made IFV which needs to be replaced with the Boomerang.The Russian Army should have replaced it with the Boomerang but the thing is they make new hardware to show just in the Moscow Victory Day Parade.But in real, Russia won't get any victory over ukraine.
Also German Leopards are going to roar in Ukraine and fire off their 120mm NATO rounds.

India is upgrading its entire BMP2 fleet to this standard.
The power pack is being up graded too.
I hope there is some work being done of protection too.
The BMP does need additional protection.
There are a lott of light weight modular Armour packages .
With more power,BMP could carry additional armour.
As a pure ICV its good.
But close up its very vulnerable.
DRDO is working on "Abhay" IFV which is far better.
Платформа БМП 2 отлично подходит для самых разных модернизаций и из неё можно сделать боевую машину способную бороться с самыми разными противниками(иностранных производителей) ни в чем не уступая, а по некоторым параметрам и превосходя их!! Ко всему показанному вооружению можно установить более мощный двигатель и усилить бронирование и защиту!

The LAV is fast, but idk about it's "all terrain" capability. The only reason why i like the bmp more than the lav is it's tracks. It's an all terrain vehicle.
Wheels are quite underrated. Wheeled IFV's are more durable because mobility kills are very hard and they often have better range. If a wheel is lost it can still drive, but if a track is lost, your IFV is stuck.

Идельный вариант если к этой версии БМП-2 добавить дополнительное бронирование, установку нового двигателя и т.д от модернизированной БМП-2 КУРГАНМАШЗАВОДОМ. КБП и "Курганмашзавод" нужно вместе поработать над одной окончательной БМП-2 для нашей армии.
Ребятки да ей место в мезее, а не воевать в 21 веке.

Russia has UGVs, if they equip it with a Kornet and a Kord then you won't need a tank.

бмп 2 м хорошая не хуже европейских,а то и лучше если правильно использовать с прикрытием то она не уступит европейским,она еще долго будет находится в войсках.

2 Kornet simultaneously = first takes out active protection systems, second hits the target trough reactive armor.

This is not a fully upgraded bmp-2m just the turret the latest bmp2m has extra armour on the body idk what it is but it has the thick extra armour and cage armour rpg7 can no longer penetrate even western light anti tank weapons cant penetrate it the new upgraded bmp-2m is gona work with t-72b3m and russia only has 150 t72b3m but after testing the t-72b3m and latest bmp-2m in syria with great success because not 1 got destroyed and they got 2-3 dozen kills tanks like t-55, t-62, t-72, bmp-1, mt-lb, tracked captured from syrian and iraqi stocks also wheeled western apc and pick ups armed with diffrent weapons like 12.7mm 14.5mm zsu23mm autocannons, armored suicide cars trucks apcs, positions of snipers machine gun nests and all kinds of bunkers, some of the things mentioned 1 each some up to 5 or more. It was 5 t72b3m bmp-2ms they also killed wounded 200 or more but this 10 machines had highly trained crews and fought mostly in open terrain close with russian special ops an had air cover the 2 machines can go against any western armour whatever as long as they have trained infantry and some air cover i think russia will upgrade 2000 of each cause for the price of 1 new armata they can upgrade 10

Yes, Kornet are HEAT tandem warheads.

There is still the problem of the BMP being to low to the ground. Nasty little problem of shooting infantry in the back of the head. :/ oh well love my BMPs

I guess advancing in column as opposed to lines is in order. No tool is perfect, but there are work-arounds. I, too love BMPs. Riding in one is on my bucket list!
бережок интересен, но необходимо рассмотреть вариант съемной противопульной брони (экранов) для бортов и задней полусферы башни. как образец взять БМП-2Д и БМП-1Д с установкой керамической плиты под мехводом для защиты от противопехотных мин. иначе получится колосс на глиняных ногах, пробивается с 3 сторон даже из АКМ.

TulaKirill это их задача. предлагая урезанный вариант модернизации они лишают армию защищенной техники. не секрет, что у КБП хорошее лобби в генштабе. им бы вместе с курганским КБ общий проект представить, вооружение - от КБП, допбронирование и усиленная ходовая - курганские. собрать вместе два варианта модернизации в один, а не кормить с двух сторон взятками московских генералов в попытках заполучить госзаказ.
Super Puper задача КБП - создать боевой модуль, что и делается, за создание модулей защиты бронетехники отвечают другие организации, например НИИ Стали. Даже на любимом многими Западе подобная система - каждый отвечает за своё. Ну насчет вашего знания про взятки и госзаказ - не несите ахинеи, хорошо?

That was quick, thanks! I am talking about export prices (for my country, in this case) which must be higher than prices for Russian army. Various sources give me various figures. For example, su-39 price vary from 11 million (on Wikipedia) to 40 million (also based on that American site). How much is Ansat-2RC helicopter? It is made in your town, right? I hope I didn't annoy yourself with this.
The only weakness I can possibly find on these babes (BMP-2M and BMP-3M) is their vulnerability to anti-tank rockets (but that applies for any othe APC/IFV too,so... nvm :-P)

is the 30mm grenades in this BMP longer ranged compared to the American high impulse 40mm grenades such as the ones on a mk19 ?

Sorry for late reply; The BMP uses 30mm SHELLS rather than grenades , so they're infact much more acurate , pierce thicker armor and travel faster , it's the wrong comparision however , as this is a proper autocannon , while you were refering to a grenade launcher.
I thought this bmp had both a cannon and a AGS 30.
When I said grenades I was refering to the AGS 30 that i thought was mounted.
Socomnick Most people don't notice it so I though you refered to the cannon , but anyways , I'd expect the lighter 30mm grenade to travel faster and further , but in anything else the american 40mm is superior , specially considering this is technology from the 80s-90s
True. The ags 30 seems like an interesting weapon mainly due to its insanely light weight making it easier to lug around the m19 is a heavy beast.

I like all kinds of Russian weapons. You seem to be a relevant source for this item: how much is new upgraded BMP-2M? Pardon me, but 600.000 $ sound little bit cheap for higher level of protection, better engine, gunners sight... I read on one American web-site that the upgrade package for the BMP-2 costs 960.000 $. I also read that the BMP-3 costs around 3,5-4 million $. Where can I get prices for this and other Russian weapons? Salute to Russia from your eternal allies - Montenegro!
i assume a side armor hit from an ATGM will destroy any tank?
yes, but berezhok system is an offensive upgrade. maybe there is new defensive systems suited to bmp that can protect them from atgm/anti-tanks rockets.
but for me i believe that berezhok is a good upgrade, but the turret size limit further ameliorations like the instalation of an APS or jamming IED antena.

Слабенькая защита у БМП2 как впрочем и всей транспортной техники 70-х 80-х (БТР70,80) против современных условий. В Чечне БМП2 жгли 12,7 мм бронебойно-зажигательные патроны, не говоря уже о РПГ и Минах СВУ.

I'm no expert but if i'm correct wouldn't a heavy armored tank like an M1a2 or a Leopard with explosive reactive armor have a chance of surviving a hit?

i think you don't need to buy BMP-2 just use its optic and fire control system on older BRDM or BMP-1 it will do the job for less cost :)
in my eyes, this looks better than BMP-3, very nice vehicle. but one thing i dont like on all russian IFV´s.... the weak armor O.o
The BMP-3's armor is far form weak.
I would much rather be in a Bradley. This thing has terrible armor protection. Sides can be penetrated by armor piercing 5.56.
The BMP-2's hull provides all-around protection from 7.62 mm armor piercing rounds at 30 meters, while the front can withstand several hits from 23 mm armor piercing shells so stop lying. I have fired at an BMP1 (Exact same hullprotection as the BMP-2) with an GPMG with 7.62mm APT and those fuckers didnt penetrate at 200m

How effective would a javelin missile be against a t-72 or the new T-90?
comissar1998 practically a guaranteed kill if it hit the tank right between the turret and main body.

May be effective against T-72 but not much effective against T-90ms. Only spike missiles are effective against T-90ms but within a smaller scale.
currently javelin is effective against all tanks in the world except the ones wich have an aps who could protect theirs tops. the problem with third generation atgm(fire and forget with a bell trajectory) is that a cheap soft counter-measure (like an improved shtora) could appear during the current decade and make this expensive atgm obselet
no armor resists an ATGM.
No IFV has armor witch can stop a ATGM.
