  • A talkie trip to New York to see the Jazz age night life along the great White Way,
ending with a peek in at Yoeng's Chinese Restaurant to see Paul Tremaine and his Aristocrats play the hot tune, Four Four Rhythm. From just before the stock Market Crash. Edited from vintage MGM and Photophone film. My thanks to Miss Tappingtoes great jazz channel for her invaluable assistance!
EMI has banned this film in America since they own copyright apparently to the other tune heard in this video.
Paul Tremaine had a novel rhythm section that included a male harpist of all things! In the bands first tune called "Aristocratic Stomp", recorded Oct. 2,1929 he (Lester Cruman) takes a harp solo. "Four Four Rhythm was recorded two days later on the 4th of October.

A joy from beginning to end. As far as I'm aware there were only two of his records (on Columbia) released in the UK but they don't showcase his talent like your video. Well done.
