DEWALT D36000 TILE SAW --- SHOULD YOU BUY IT???

- The DeWalt D36000 tile saw boasts a 36" tile rip capacity. If you are looking to cut large tiles, up to 36" this is a great wet tile saw. It even works well for 12x24 porcelain tiles, as it allows a 18" cut to go through on the arm side. The only downside is the size, as it is hard to reach the switch when the table is extended all the way out. So you might want to consider the DeWalt D24000, which is discussed in this review video. That tile saw has a 24" rip capacity.

Who’s having problems with the motor? We’ve had this same saw for 9 months and the motor is failing now. It started with the reset button on the cord than the motor
@@joseojeda1328 Dewalt had many years to get right before the release, but they totally bombed, it's a pos, in sent my. First 2 right back for replacement, recently I sold. It. They completely dropped the ball
Love the Dewalt D2400 Saw ! Being a tile contractor for over 30 years and Had A 8'' Riso Saw, and all the other brands out there , this DeWalt is by far the Best tile saw on the market. I have it for over 17 years with all the original parts. Still works great!
Not quite sure why my profile says Tiiara (wife), however, Tanner Sutton here, with Sutton Plumbing & Flooring, Thomas, Ok. Just wanted to say we appreciate your channel & integrity in the trade. Been using a 2400 10" for around 7.yrs, have had to make a few adjustments, but overall have been able to put out some great quality
We love ours! It's the new big boy for 2020 Great vid 👊
Just bought for a big tile job, I felt same way as you about all the plastic, I love my rigid 7" even cut 24x36 on it but I have this job using 24x48 and I knew it couldn't handle it, stuck a piece of 1/2" foam on the tray and ripped a 48" length ways and no problem, so far I'm impressed although its definitely missing a LASER and the fact the tray doesn't lock into the tray is kind of iffy, my old rigid has a laser and the saw locks into the tray
I'm framer/handyman over the years and my first Dewalt was an electric brake circular saw I bought back in 1989 still works. Of course now that I bragged on it it will kill over finally. I'm looking for a wet saw since my wife wants 8" x 48" wood plank style tile in here 300sqft office. Seems like this my be my next tool. Thanks for the review.
I have a crew of 7 and currently have 6 of the 24000 models and there are times when all 6 are on job sites. Love the Dewalts. I also have an IQ but use it for mostly mosaics and backsplashes. Soon to purchase the 36000 model.
Have the old one and it won't die... Wish I could justify getting this one
I've been using the D24000 since 2007 and i love it. I've never had any problems with it since. I've only replaced blades and i'm on the 2nd set of motor brushes. I've always kept the saw clean after every use. I will always drain the water at the end of the day and clean everything. Always flushed the electric water pump with clean water at the end of each day. I would like to have the D36000 but i just don't do many jobs with 36" tiles, but when i do, i use a custom made table with an adjustable fence and use a custom made hand held wet saw. What would be very useful if it was possible to upgrade the D24000 with the wider D36000 throat on the left.
Dewalt is great for commercial. For residential you can’t beat the 7” delta. IQ is great if you have to be extremely clean.
I have 2 dewalts a 7 inch rubi saw and a 10 inch IQ dustless saw i love them all they all have a time and a place
Bought this saw based off of reviews and videos. This is my 1st dewalt power tool purchase. Your informational videos helped me with my purchase.
I have both the 2400 and the 3600. 3600 is a beast! The tray on the 3600 has been redesigned to have water drain all the way to the plug. I own all Millwaukee tools but have Dewalt miter, compound, table and tile saws. Cant beat them for corded tools.
Pretty much same to me i have 3 dewalt saw the new one is the 3600 each time i use it i am crying because it work so good
The comment I needed to read! Im the same with Milwaukee minus the big money making saws. Time to splurge for a new tile saw.
bought a dewalt in 04/05 the first year they came out. i moved from a target and felker before that and never looked back. yes the felker, mk, targets are heavier and less noisy because they are belt driven but those saws dont handle biiger tiles as good and are definitely messier. so as of 2023 my dewalt is almost 20 years old but had to rebuild the motor 3 times so far which isnt bad really because i can do it myself. the first time a bearing went , so i just replaced the actual bearing and soon another part went bad, i then just replaced that part and soon after another part went. after that i just replaced the main gears all together and its been good now for 8 years. so just replace the main parts when something goes wrong, not just the individual bearing. yes its a bit more money to replace the entire gear/ bearings but its alot easier and last longer...perhaps i have spent 800 bucks in the 19 years but well worth it imo
Thank you for that! I've been running 2400 over 10 years and I'm happy to see a bigger one . I haven't broke my Risso senior out in over a decade too. I'm a Sacramento valley bred tilesetter Aho Isaac and O tile
Awesome. Come say hi If your up in Rocklin
I will when I get back up there this Christmas c if I can’t find you open. I go up about once a month from near San Diego. I’ll find you. Merry Christmas to you and the family
I have the 2400 but I cut any size on it. You don't have to have plastic arms to reach the controls, you can set it from any side and go.
My mk was a beast and as I got older it was one SOB going up and down stairs. The DeWalt is not heavy but has. Lot of parts to carry and set up. Once set up it's great, less mess then my mk and less back aches.
I just ordered mine because of this video! Super excited, I have been going back and forth for a while, and this just put me over the edge. Does help I have a couple large tile jobs coming up soon, that I will need it for.
Most any ceramic or porcelain tile I score and split up to 39". I only use wet saws for stone. Bridge saws are my favorite because they have no side clearance issues. I'm looking for a new smaller bridge saw to replace the Felker that I've had for years.
the best tile saw I've ever used.
I’ve been in the tile trade since 82 and I, like you cut my teeth on Target saws. Still have my Supertilematic, it’s big and heavy but I still love it. A few years back I picked up the Rigid 7” for smaller jobs IE: backsplashes, smaller format tubs and showers and I love that thing too!
I'm using a 99 dollar qep manual tile cutter on this job , there's snow on the ground water freezes in the wet saw and this thing I can cut inside right outside of the bathroom door . Honestly I thing I'll just keep using it even after it warms up . Whole lot less mess to clean up also . I'm happy with it
Bucket heater will save you in that case. I have to use them when I do jobs in park city Utah.
Dewalt has been the best saw on the market since they came out. I'm not sure how you didn't like it when it first came out. I've been a pro contractor for 26 years. I also started out with the Target saws.
IQ tile saw is the only way to go in my opinion. I absolutely love it. Waterless set up inside.
We don't like it much, a little chippy and kicks up dust when you need to lift up on a tile. Good for cold weather though.
I have the model right before this one. I love it! It wasn't cheap, but worth every penny!
That’s the saw I currently use. It’s a great saw and great cuting
I’d be so happy to see if this saw could manage to cut brick voussoirs
My father who trained me is an old school tile setter. I was taught on the same Target saw as you and now we have 2 Husqvarna’s. Looking for a third. I want to give this one a shot but my father is leery about the motor holding up with everyday use. Hoping this video might sway him a little bit
3600 good saw but at the end of the day you will wish you unloaded the 2400. The weight difference omg. Only pull out the 3600 if your doing more then 500 sq. Ft. In large tiles
How much of a bump do you get on your D36000 as the back rollers transition on and off the rails? Mine has a noticeable bump. Were you able to adjust it out?
Dewalt saws are the best. Just wish they would be more quiet.
Put you ears closer to the saw and it'll get quieter each time
How about to cut a 45 degree edge on a 18 inch tile would it work?
Great video. Can I use Dewalt 779 for cutting a tile? I was thinking of it for other purpose but now thinking of the bathroom remodeling.
How do you carry it from one job to another. Did you built something
In my opinion I would buy this saw because has a bigger tray and could cut bigger tile on it and has more room like the man says👍💪💵 #TileGang👊
I love this saw. The tray is amazing
What’s an equivalent for this saw, but for DIY? I have three projects and that’s it. So obviously I don’t need this beast, but need something more flexible than the Rigid
I love my 36000. It's so large that it almost requires the 20v pressure washer to clean it. Seriously, you won't be disappointed if you connect the included poly line to a hose connection, in combination with the oscillating head, do not suck from a bucket! I digress...
I can't wait for Dewalt to make a 48" version, & hopefully with a larger motor & a waaaay better tray quality & storage design! Hint hint - Dewalt... 🤔
Just put the 36000 to use. One of the guide wheels appears to be machined incorrectly. About 2/3 of the way through the tile tray drops. Still waiting to hear back from dewalt. Im all black and yellow.
Delivered today 😎
Needing a trustworthy review on that iq before I consider buying one so looking forward to it
I am going to be laying 6x36 wood look tile. If i get the 2400 instead would it be ok for the job or will i come into to many issues. I know the 3600 is ideal but not sure i can justify the price.
can I cut rocks/stones with it? do I need to change the original disc to do so?
Hi guys. What about heavy, big limestone/sandstone patio slabs? Might be too heavy for ball bearings?
Cheers
You have to be licensed to stick tiles on the wall in California?
Ordering one from Amazon this week. Maybe tomorrow 🤔 .. I’m just worried about the weight since I’m usually a lone wolf.. I’d have to deal with loading and unloading this thing myself 😅
right there with ya what i found that its about 90lb which is lots more then the older one
When you say your licensed dose that mean your CTI or something different in California
But would it miter a 48 inch tile because here in the uk 🇬🇧 that’s type of tile that is quite popular or an L cut miter. Thanks for the content.
I’m trying to make my mind up on either the 24000 or 36000. My 24000 was stolen today😭😭 after 6 years still had another 5years left of life. To bad for the idiots that stole it didn’t take the tray Stand or cart.
Bought mine last week!!!!
The little piece at the back is awesome but if ur cutting 4 ft tile it gets in the way
Have you ever used a bridge saw? They would fix your reach problem. Plus you can get a bigger cut capacity with them. Only problem is they a super pricey!
Yes we have a 59" Imer. Its a beast.
I would like to see a bridge saw demo by the tile coach...
I have a 2400 and it runs great and I have a cortag just as good
Thanks for the review Issac! You sound very unsure through alot of the fact checks in this review, was pretty hilarious! Laying down some 24x48 tiles this week, snap cutters sold out due to covid in my area and no wet saws around that go that big, tile life lol.
thats why I let kirk do most of the demo :)
@@TileCoach Yes I love that you don't act like you know it all and have lots of humility!
What’s the best way to rip cut a 48in wood look tile for DIY home owner? Just an angle grinder?
Lock the tray and slide the tile. Takes a steady hand and a little practice but no big deal. You'll want to mark a solid line to follow.
Idk about these newest ones but I got two of the biggest ridged ones they sell about three years ago maybe two years ago and they run like brand new still perfectly great saw fucking water stays in great all the things u want plunge all that
I have the same saw, I love it, It is way heavy though
Don't know how these got started being called tile saws, that is a brick saw. A tile saw has a blade that comes from underneath so that the blade curve makes a clean cut in the corners.
Yeah, my thought too.
Had a Sigma like that for years.
Now, I just use an angle grinder.
@@skulijakobsson5116 I just bought the 7" Kobalt table top tile saw. $200, it has a sliding tray on one side. I'll put the cut it makes up against any of these bigger brick saws.
The bigger saws work for most jobs because the edges are hidden by trim. But doing Mosaic designs like I do they aren't worth having.
I just used my 7” Rigid to tile 1300 sq ft of 8x48 wood look porcelain, not sure how I made it through that one 😬 looking into picking up an iQ
We don't use our IQ much, only in really cold weather.
cool saw, but where's your ear protection dudes?
The new Dewalt has a slower blade speed. Is there a reason for this?
Picked up a ridgid r4092 at a great price from HD. Have yet to fire it up. Any pros out there using this ridgid?
I've got the 8" and 10" both good saws. I use the 8" more because its more convenient in its size. but they both have there purks for the size tile your using👍
Been using the 10 inch "Beast" Ridgid saw for about 8 years, runs flawlessly and rips 36 inch tile (before Dewalt could and 200$ cheaper)
I currently have the 2400 and may buy this saw depending on how all the election stuff works out. Thanks for the video.
Be great to see how this does a 45 mitre
The plastic trays are tuff. That one guy said he had to rig his. That guy's rough and sloppy if his broke. Cause those trays are tough unless your lazy and just throw it in the truck or van of course they will break.
I need the hat. thats my go 2board for all my shower projects. where can I get one Issac? keep the videos coming. really enjoy the tile videos 👍
Buy a t-shirt and I’ll throw in a hat
how 2 purchase a shirt
My main beef with the dewalt is the motor. It's weak and is very prone to bending the shaft. Put a micrometer on that shaft and I gaurentee that it's bent
I should’ve went for Dewalt
Great saw it’s a work horse
Get some good hoodies and I’ll buy a few. Or even long sleeves / crewnecks.
You got it.
Love the Dewalt saws! Just got crazy and picked up an IQ. To early to give any feedback yet. 🙏
I’ve got one and have used it. I love it. I set it up right inside.
HAD a IQ SOLD IT didnt like it had lots of goods but for some reason it was breaking tile in the middle of my runs and got tired of messing with it got the Dewalt 2400 and LOVE IT more cannt beat wet cutting
@@titocastillo2119 I tried one out few years back, daltile had a demo saw up and let me tell you after I saw all the chipping it left behind definitely wasn’t a saw for me. I can’t imagine cutting any marble or onyx stone with the thing lol
I think they're too heavy and big. You don't need a saw this big for plank tiles. It'd be really awkward to cut a 36 x 36 with that thing. I just did a job with a 24 x 48 and all i used was a snap cutter and a grinder with a wet sponge/guide. If i had go buy a big heavy saw, i'd just get a bridge/rail wet saw....Better for tiles bigger than 24".
I hear ya. It's a big saw. We have a 59" Imer we rarely use because it takes two guys to even move it, and it takes up the bed of a truck.
5 to 6 years life on the dewalt 24000 on every day use
How much
Check out the iq dry tile saw
I love the IQ
One of these days Milwaukee will put out a wet tile saw that will be cordless, I believe.
I own it. Too big for no gravity stand option. And the tray is integral for any kind of use without it. Also does not store well at all. Neither does it transport well.
Mks and targets have zero on the dewalts. They might not be perfect in every way but as a 34 year tile veteran, it was instantaneous my appreciation of all the bells and whistles and potential . You were on the fence and you make review videos, annoying ones to say the least. Step aside bro
Music is cool, but it masks the sound of the motor. Save it for the dancing afterward.
Been a tile setter for 18 years and had probably 10 dewalt saws over the years and in my opinion the new one is a piece of shit… the plastic on the back sags and leaks water and on the water catch under the side tray the nipple keeps braking off.. then the plastic water catch won’t stay on so it leaks all over the ground.. a new tray is $300 and doesn’t even come with screws bearings or anything
O
The camera work is nauseating, especially the transitions.
Ruby sucks just got one what a joke
Just buy a sigma
hi what cutting depth does the machine have at 45 degrees? I mean can 2cm thick tiles also be cut danut?
