I had a Lincoln Continental almost 8 ltr, 10 mpg in the 80s, and a Kawasaki 500 triple Mach 111, now I have a bus pass and a Skoda, and lots off 10yr old second hand digital cameras and manual lenses, life is good!
Weird that Hasselblad and Fuji have a lot of common history. A lot of Hasselblad lenses are build by Fuji. The Hasselblad H was also build and in Japan also sold under the Fuji brand. The xpan was also build and sold by Fuji and so on :).
That jolly old ROI thing. If there's no positive return on the investment, it has no place in the business. As a photojournalist, I used a Leica M kit. It made sense. It was the perfect tool for the job I was doing. When digital came about I sold the Leica gear and went with what was needed at that time - DSLR. It was a gutwrenching move personally, but right for my business. Today I use Sony, not because I like a camera with the ergonomics of a toaster, but it's the right tool. Keep up the great work bringing common sense to RUclips.
I wish people would understand that more or even my younger self 😅 I also went Sony n it's my best tool after going through nearly every brand; that has roi in less than six months 😮
Does Sony still have the ergonomics of a toaster? I heard t was better now. I've only owned Panasonic (Lumix) & Canon mirrorless cameras so I don't know how a Sony feels.
Oh wow. That resonates so much with me. It's the old "Want" VS "Need" conundrum...and as "Artists" 😆 we appreciate things of beauty, and we want things of beauty!
The worst ones promote one system but *at the same time* they actually use a different system for all their work and private photography. (I'm admittedly thinking of a particular, German-language, photography channel. The guy's promoting Nikon but exclusively uses Sony 😂)
@@CC3GROUNDZERO I think the point he’s trying to make is to not get easily swayed by “hype “ . as a photographer we use the tools that get the jobs done . And are not necessarily one particular system because it’s what RUclips sold us . I have the canon 5ds , Fuji 50sii , & Sony a7r5 . I have no loyalty to one or the other . They simply fulfill different tasks . But unfortunately many fall for what’s recommended rather than what is needed . That’s what I got from this video …
@@LetiB76 Yeah... Did I say something that contradicts any of that? I'm just saying, I hate dishonest promo channels precisely because they're misleading newbies. After all, the very point of advertising is to get you to make the wrong choice.
This is getting so obnoxious. Everyone who hyped up the insta360 Ace and called it the death of GoPro still uses a GoPro. You'll find this in the instrument/microphone community too. No one seems to use the "best" guitar or mic after two weeks even if they are allowed to keep them. RUclips reviews are worthless unless it's from someone who bought it from their money and has no monetary gain from their review.
I'm a fuji shooter and love my gear, but equally are getting a kick out of your blunt assessment of their gear. LMAO. You should defo be a Fuji X ambassador, that would make my day.
Definitely not from a business POV, but it definitely scratches that creative itch I enjoy from film. God, "recipes" and the ability to create your own is so enjoyable and it keeps me focused on what I want to shoot vs being too concerned about editing. Take a shot, looks great, on to the next one. Fuji is top tier.
100%. Fuji made me a JPEG shooter. I have my 6 preset recipes - and nearly all images I take are simply catalogued in Lightroom, and used without any edits - straight from the camera. I still also save the RAWs, but that is as a failsafe in case I really messed up the exposure and need to save an image. (Plus, in a given year, I have 2-5 shoots such as the northern lights, landscapes, ...) where I use the Raws and spend more time editing the photos. The recipes make the cameras so much more than what they should be.
I always find it funny when I see someone on RUclips shooting Leica and praising their superior camera and then talk about how they edit their pics with Fuji, Kodak or other presets in Lightroom.
How are you ahead if you don't get a final result you wanted out of your camera? I think pics SOOC on Leica's are great and it's fine to adjust some things as needed. When you use filters to take away the cameras characteristics and make the photos appear as though they were taken with a less expensive camera system just seems counterintuitive. That's what I like about my Fuji's and Lumix. My point is that I don't care what one does with their camera or photos but when someone gloats about doing this I just think they could have saved some money buy using a less expensive camera and then post process the files. To each their own.@@RandomTask1207
@@RandomTask1207 better in what way? Image quality difference is barely noticeable unless you do large prints. The cost difference compared to what you get does not make sense. For most people, a Fuji system is just much better than a Leica system financially
You can have a Blad and an M6 outside work as your personal cameras. Old Blads can be found reasonably cheap. And I would get an M3 (way cheaper than an M6), especially if you shoot with a 50 and a 90...
Wow memories, back in the day i used the Hasselblad 500cm and a Leica M4. Loved those cameras, definitely my 2 favorites. Love your content, I'm a new subscriber checking out some of your older videos. Good practical info, thank you.
I've been a Nikon shooter since starting photography more than a decade ago. I am a professional, shooting all kind of events, including video, as well as stock photography at a high end stock agency. One of my best purchases was the Nikon Z9. I know people say marry your lenses and not the bodies (and I have good lenses) but I've never gotten an upgrade so big which has eased my work immeasurably. The perfect, near instantaneous autofocus meant that I no longer have out of focus images. The lack of mechanical shutter meant that I can go out, make 50000 images (although the time it would take to go through them would be crazy), and the camera would be the same as new. All in all, the reliability you get from Nikon but especially from their pro bodies is amazing. I am not making an ad for Nikon. I see friends who are equally happy with an R5. I wanted to say that bodies are important, they can ease your work, and there are brands which give you an amazing middle ground.
Glad somebody is mentioning Nikon as a professional. I feel like pros who value their work don't go out boasting about their gear in the first place, but that makes Nikon disappear from the discourse - unless it's influencer slander. Nikon ergonomics and lenses are superb. So many miss out on great quality of life - and straight up quality - by ignoring it. They just feel right in my hands, ever since I first used a D3000. Strange times when people talk about camera brands, start with The Big Three for whatever that's worth, but instead of "Canon, Sony, Nikon" they'd sooner mention Fuji or Olympus. Bit of a rant. I do wish Nikon caught up to the 2020's with software, especially UI/UX, and not allow itself to be outpaced. Then again Nikon tends to take longer, but then do it right the first time, see: Z9 & Z8.
my canon 5d mk 2 looking at a 722,000 + shutter count, Personally, a few years ago I had the Fuji X Pro 1 and it was of no use to me for field work one of the buttons broke , I returned to Canon about 3 months later I like to have equipment that I can squeeze enough out before making a reinvestment.
Damn, thats like having a million mile car there. I'm thinking of picking up a 5D2 for dirt cheap with 254k on the shutter and i thought that was risky. Maybe I should just go for it. Still using 5D mk1.. with sigma art lens. Might grab an eos R when they get cheap but 5D II's just do the work. People underestimate how much it takes to fully resolve even a 20mp sensor.
I miss my M6. It’s the horrendous cost of film/processing/scanning that makes it less attainable in my opinion, not the actual camera and hence my reason for selling it. The X100V doesn’t come slightly close to the experience of shooting an M6 but at least each time I press the shutter it’s not draining my bank account.
Been on the fuji system for well over a decade and my reason for choosing it over the big three was Colour and the dials. It always came down to colour for me; but the Dials on the older Fuji systems were a preference; I think about my light in thirds and the XT1 & XH1 at the time were the best that could offer me that and I still use the XH1 as my main camera. The only cameras right now that could realistically get me off Fuji is the Nikon Z9, Hasselblad X2D the Leica SL2 But I cannot justify the price of any of their lenses either for the work I do.
color? Just shoot raw and adjust your color in lightroom. Dials....lol why do ppl like dials....idgi. I don't hate it....but it's not a reason I buy a camera.
I disagree that everyone wants a Haselblad. It's good that is your dream camera. But I learned to shoot on a Minolta T301. I love the reflex system and the fact the light that I see is the light that enters through the lens. The simplicity of putting the eye to the viewfinder, matching the aperture and speed to the meter indicator, and pressing the shutter. And while my Minolta is absolutely no ergonomic at all, my Nikons are.
I’d love a Hassy just not the style he likes. And it’s also reasonable thing to think somebody might not consider it a dream camera if they haven’t been doing this a long time.
Nikon, Panasonic, Olympus and I am happy. For the street they are perfect. No special editing software required, and no mechanical issues -- just great simply cameras for the street. I also have a Canon -- may be selling my Canon RP and lenses soon. Nikon Z5 + 40mm works wonders on the street. Great camera I bought for a grand.
Hey there - excellent video and thx for sharing. I actually went through the journey from Fuji X to GFX to Hasselblad X Systems and back to a Fuji X. I am a hobbyist and even there, the practicality of film simulations kind of meant more to me than the 102 MP excellent color of the X2D and it’s excellent lenses. Let alone the need for a lot faster hardware and more NAS files. I may get that M6 or rather a 500cm but even for private use, when you don’t want to miss a shot - use the 100vi 😂🎉
I love my Fuji XT3s,they work for me and what I do. Do I need or want T5,not really. Would I like a GFX and associated bag of lenses,oh hell yes. But until the big bucks come my way, I'll defer .
I love my GFX100. It’s five years old and still going strong. Hasselblad is trailing Fujifilm by years (and of course uses the same 102MP Sony sensor as Fujifilm). And Leica is no where near competitive on medium format. Phase One is wonderful but I can’t see its value outside of a studio.
Agree with sentiment., but have a couple of "huh?" questions. I don't see how an M6 replacement is an X100V. I went into B&H looking for a Leica Q2 (few years back) and they suggested the X100V. That makes sense. Second, where can I find how to mount the Phase One 150 megapixel back on a Hassy V system camera? You can put older Phase One/Leaf, but I am not aware of a way to mount the new back. Please send links so I can check it out!
I used my GFX100s at events, it’s fantastic. Happy clients. Also the X mount primes are SO GOOD. Great price, super small small, and lovely feel to the images.
It's nice to see Scott is human and can buy 'wants' in his personal life. A friend told me if you want something - get it, you don't have to justify it. If you can afford it of course. I love kit and learning how to use it. That's my foolish things - like the older Mercedes. It's so great to have and use. In my 40 years I have acquired lots of gear and I use it. Not all the time, but it's there when I need it. My photography is what I enjoy in my personal life and I use it to make money too. I guess you can say I don't have a life outside of photography. I do what I love. Scott - I hope you get that Hasselblad someday. I had three of them and miss the days of using them.
Yes you can, but there are a few issues for some of my work where I use burst mode to capture action in a shot as you have to manually cock a shutter, ready the sensor, then fire. Its about 1 frame every 4 seconds haha
@@TinHouseStudioUK Oh, alright then. Some vendors told me you could not use it at all. It's a bit of a dreamy combo for me as well, so I got hope again to spend 30k on used gear, thank you, I guess :D
As a side note to my previous comment, I come to your channel to put sensible into my head. To remind me that there has to be a good reason to buy something, not just give in to lust. Sometimes lust is good, but most of the times it gets in the way of actually enjoying what you already have. This from a hobbyist perspective.
Brilliant and exactly right. That being said, I recently bought my dream camera (Nikon F2) with a number of lenses. But, in my defence, it´s for "fun" use only. That, and it is a sh*tload cheaper than an M6. It´s my 18mpg Mercedes... and I love it. I love the feel of it, the sounds it makes, and the images I get from it. No regrets. Now I just need a "Hassy". 😎 Love your videos and your honesty. I learn more from you than most other RUclipsrs about photography and I don´t even shoot commercial. Keep doing what you are doing.
I love this review. I’m sending you some love by way of a picture of my Hasselblad 500, taken using my Leica M6, you’re welcome… PS …keep up the (very) good work
Absolutely 💯 right and make so much sense. Agreed maestro 🙏🔥. I switched to Fuji GFX from Nikon setup last year, due to affordability and quality we get. On the other hands as old school background this camera is the Beast in every way. Greta job Fuji. 🙏🔥
We switched from Fuji GFX 100 to Hasselblad X2D as soon as they came out as I was sick of the menus and hated the colours - but the cost exercise over the Fuji really was worth it - thanks to Clifton Cameras MPB and London Camera Exchange Oxford and Bristol for making it all sweet and easy - I feel the original GFX100 was peak Fuji.
I have been shooting with the GFX100 for a couple of years now and I love working with it. I am not saying one is better than the other but interested in hearing why you went with the 100s? was it form factor on the cambo system?
if you want some other cameras similar to the leica and the hassy that also use film and are stupidly expensive but much more niche, check out the rollei 6008af and the alpa 11si or 10d
Sigma has big opportunity here, their Foveon DSLRs are basically like shooting old vintage medium format, slow, sensitive to light, mostly just manual focus, big, heavy, clunky to work with in post, perfect really for emulating the photography experience of 1867 but in a digital package.
I've mainly stuck with Nikon SLRs / DSLRs doing press work and had a Fuji x100s for spare time / walk about / travel stuff, then an XT20 and now for walking about I use my phone (with a tweaked colour app) - nothing fancy but it's just really quick and it really fits the maxim that the best camera is the one you have with you.
It all depends on what you do. Nikon, Canon, Sony ,Fuji and Panasonic all scratch the itch of the various professions like sports, wildlife, wedding ,landscape hybrid, travel etc. It's nice to have so much choice as well as the super high end lica, phase 1 etc. the glass is a whole different game for sports, wildlife and god forbid film, where vintage movie lenses cost as much as a house. Really glad to hear you really like Fuji for your business. They make great kit
I totally get it- I’m the same, for gear- operating on- It’s Good Enough for the desired end results. For Hasselblad, instead of an old 500 or 500cm, get a 503 body- meant for digital backs.
I moved from Canon to Fuji (X-T series, not GFX) and its the best thing I ever did for my photography. I prefer not just the files, but also the ergonomics, both physically on the camera and in the menus.
I have an X100V because I wanted a fixed lens camera as a challenge. I am also considering replacing my Canon 5D4 with the XT5, because it’s smaller. It takes a while to commit to spending any money though. I am a hobbyist.
@@colinstock325 I'm a hobbyist too, and size was definitely a factor for me as well in that decision. I mainly shoot landscape and travel. I got an XT3 when they were new out, and several years later it's never missed a beat
I have also the xt3 i dropt it alot and shot alot of rain sessions in the netherlands and its still goings strong its a real beast of a camera the xt3, i Will never sell it hahaha
I moved from Fuji X to Nilon Z. I can't see myself changing again. I did paid work with the X series cameras, but the autofocus wasn't quite up to it and the tethering a bit patchy. Brilliant build quality and design, the Xpro 2 was my favourite, you look at it and want to pick it up. Now have a Zf in my kit, love it.
@@gonzotravelling I've never had mine miss a beat except in really low light, but have heard other people mention autofocus on the X series. Most of my stuff these days is travel and landscape so I guess what I shoot will never realistically stretch the autofocus capabilities to be fair.
When I was due for some new equipment, I switched away from Canon because they simply kept getting more awkward and less fun to use. The fuji X-t series harkened back to my old Canon F-1 days, fun and convenient to use, feel good in my hands, etc.
Also, I have a question for you. This channel has been all about professional work, specifically still life product work. What do you shoot in your personal time if anything and what is your current camera of choice / realistic desirable purchase for personal use?
Desirable design + tactile shooting experience + SOOC jpegs. I switched from a system where I was constantly pixel peeping and worrying about technical perfection. Editing my images to shit. Now, on Fuji, I no longer do. I have my "discount Leica M6" in silver, I have my JPEG recipes and I just enjoy my shooting experience.
When I shot weddings, there'd be these guys who said "pay me £x and I use my Contax. Pay £0.8x and it's Nikon & so on." I doubt many can tell the difference between a Zeiss and a Nikor. I looked at Nat Geo, the old Life etc. And I can't tell if a shot was made with a Mamiya Universal or a Nikon f2.
My favorite cameras are my Hasselblad 503cw and my Zeiss Ikon 1963 Contessamat SE which I got for $13. I completely rebuilt it. Anything !! With a Zeiss Lens is fantastic. Sure. With the Hassy I would love a digital back. I do have an old Barnack Leica IIIf with a Summaron 35mm and it takes lovely photos. Using Rollei RPX 100 film. Develop and scan at home with HC-110 (b). I am also using a Fuji X-T1. It all works. I’m no pro but have fun. For other fun MF I use self restored Zeiss 6x6 and 6x9 folding cameras. Love them.
If we look at the timeline, I am now in an age group closer to a hundred than 20. So you should know I have had time to use many camera brands. However, a few years ago, after losing all my professional camera gear on a white water adventure, I chose to buy my next gear from Fuji. I decided for three reasons: The first (and the most important) Fuji was the cheapest on the Finnish market. The second reason was that Fuji updated the software on slightly older cameras. The other brands were updated by buying a new model. The third was a simple and easy-to-use menu. Today, the differences are so minor that all the brands on the market are excellent. So the gist of it all is that I use Fujifilm in my daily work as a photographer... but Hasselblad is still my favourite.
I have an X-H2s, X-H1, and X-T5 and throughly enjoy using them. That is number one which drew me to Fuji - after trying several brands and owning Nikon equipment, I simply was inspired by the ergonomics and the color science of Fuji. It's been fun. I am a semi-professional, mostly hobbyist.
I shoot with the xpro1 and xpro2. For me, its the ergonomics. I shoot a Leica M3 and Contax IIIa, so I love being able to just line up the xpro's like I did with my rangefinders.
Great points on all. I can't afford a RED or ARRI video camera, so I settled on a Fujifilm XH2s. Excellent video quality and reliability. Enough formats to choose from. It's a great hybrid camera and I also enjoy the film grades and still pictures I get out of it. My Nikon D750 has been in its case for several months now., I take it out every now and again to make sure the batteries are good. Don't use it that much. Fuji is the best choice available today for people whose budgets exist in the real world.
I moved to Fuji more than 5 years ago. (My dream camera is a Leica too but I can't justify the price tag). I am very happy with my XT4, though I also have a pair of Ricoh Griii's because I can carry them easily with all the stuff that I carry around for work.
You have the Zenxa Bronica and that’s a beautiful tool, but I suppose it’s just not the camera that went to the moon. I haven’t even wrapped my head around my first SLR (I’ve had it about 6 weeks) haha.
I haven't upgraded cameras, but I have been going through a kit upgrade. First is the sensible, which was a set of manual primes I'm cinemodding for video. They all look amazing, and most of them have been dirt cheap and easy to CLA myself in under a half hour. The quality smashes my Zeiss Contax lenses, and I picked up a set of ten for less than the three cheapest Zeiss Contax lenses everyone buys to mod. Clear win in the ROI department. Then there's the significantly less sensible, which is that I bought myself a Canon dream lens. I'll probably never make any money back on it unless I sell it, but I've wanted one for over a decade, and I finally let myself shell out that cash.
I didn't switch, I just added some Fuji's to my Nikon collection. XE3, XT20, XT-3. Only one I have now is the XE3. I just found myself using the Nikon's more. Especially after I got my Z8.
I did use a 501CM with a phase one back, back in the day, was great, very slow, super satisfying though. Not sure I'd want to go back though, the 501 sits in the dinning room on the shelves as a reminder
I always describe it as: When I had a Canon it felt like using a hammer, but when I use a Fuji it feels like using a fine paintbrush. The Canon feels like a highly functional piece of gear but it's only nice for doing work, whereas the Fuji is a joy to use on its own. I do occasionally wonder if my actual photography has deteriorated because I now use Fuji, as I no longer have full frame and a less simple interface (autofocus + start up times suck). Canon would be: turn it on and shoot and go, whereas with Fuji it often lose my autofocus point to give an example. At the same time the job feels more fun, artistic and wholesome. I guess every camera has its pros and cons and the best thing we can do is be honest with ourselves :) For me I needed to get that Fuji bug out of my system and I could now switch back to Canon with peace in my heart. But I just came back from nature working with a model with an old film camera and man, my inner artist just really loves impractical gear :D Even using a nice fuji felt like a stap back from the snap that the film camera makes. The finality of it. The commitment.
Check out the Fuji X-Pro series. Unless you need the leaf shutter it's basically the interchangeable version of the X100 series, Then you will get addicted to the little Fuji prime lenses.
I’m staying with the camera system I have my company doesn’t need to put out any more money than necessary what we have now gets the job done and it certainly isn’t Fuji !
X100 series is a bit oddball. Yes, it definitely has the "old school film rangefinder look" (well, I had a X100S and T). But starting from F, it became more and more expensive. Perhaps a XE3 + 23 f/2 lens is more affordable. And the GFX is definitely a more affordable medium format kit.
Great video as always I'd love a Hasselblad 500 CM but I can't afford one so I'm buying the next best thing, a Kiev 88 otherwise known as the Hasselbladski.
Hey fellow collegue ! We are so alike, you nailed it. Drive a Volvo 1984 6 cylinder. Own GFX100II 100S 50R I did buy a Leica SL2S for my R lenses. Cheers from France mate
Lots of people chose Fuji because color science, no matter pro or an amateur. Fuji has good color science and minimal tweaks/adjustments needed. And this is very attractive to the ones who a) don’t know how to work with color in post and have zero desire to learn b) don’t want to edit and get it straight out of the camera pretty much And there is nothing wrong with either. If having certain camera improves the workflow I’m all about it. Having Fuji will not turn someone to color wizard, but it will definitely help. I’m only talking from color science perspective. Btw I don’t own any Fuji, I mean if only an old 35mm Fujica counts 🤣
Very interesting exposé. I have been a photographer for over 40 years and I was weaned on analog cameras, including the Hassy. Nonetheless, I use pretty much all of the medium format cameras out there, and I find that the. Blad slow and cumbersome I love the output of the GFX cameras I own three of them and I particularly love the XT series cameras. I use them for the likes of VOGUE magazine, Harpers Bazaar, ELLE, GRAZIA,etc. in fact, I sold off all four bodies of my Nikon, full frame, system and lenses and now work exclusively with Fujifilm so my dream camera is not a slow and cumbersome Blad digital back which I used in fact for the Swarovski world Christmas ad campaign and it was so slow. in terms of ergonomics and aesthetics I know it’s all very subjective, but I much prefer the Fujifilm design philosophy. There’s my two cents worth. 🤓🙏🏻💝
I agree with you i do wedding work in Israel and for low light portraits i use my gfx 100s with a 50 3.5 and for fast action dance floor action shots run and gun video i use the xh2s with the linear motor primes and i have the 8-16 2.8 for indor videos as well as real-estate videos and my gfx does the stills with the tilt shift lense i love the gfx 100s i dont do tethering and i hope if i ever get into the industry your in by the time if i ever do i hope fuji fixes the tethering issues im not sure if the 100 mark 2 fixed it ? But i bought into the fuji system in 2018 I think the apsc mount is great for fast action especially the hx2s it really has made the system usable for wedding work Also i do agree with you about the evf of the gfx but for me its not a big deal i use the screen and the evf is not a big deal to me to use mabye its because im a Millennial lol Also with linar motor lenses like the 50 3.5 which i think is a very underated lens the linear motors really help make the best of the fased detect autofocus its really good and ive used it in mild action shots like a slow dance or when the bride dose a twirl of with her dress ect. And 5 fps is good enough for that
So far I have resisted the move to mirrorless, not.a fan of the EVF as a portrait photographer, enthusiastic amateur. The new Hasselblad 907x 100, however, gives me a digital option for my 503 for an OVF solution, and I can use my H system glass via an adapter. A more cost effective solution to replacing my 5DSR with an R5.
If they ever produced a square digital back, I would have kept my 500cm (or my Bronica SQA's for that matter). Having a digital back that is always in landscape when one is using the waist level viewfinder becomes completely impractical when shooting in a portrait orientation. If only they would create a 56mm square sensor (anywhere between 24-60mp), now that would be amazing. Of course, it would be more expensive than the Merc and the petrol!
i am a photographer and i know a lot of them here in my country, no one switched to fuji, all the pros using sony, nikon, canon, maybe some amateur photographers or selfcalled " streetphotgraphers" with x100 series
@bigd7696 reading and unterstanding seems different to you, i wrote i know a lot of them, i did not write " all of them". 2.) Here the pro photographers have to be in the chamber of commerce, so i know how much they are. 3) we did in covid times 2 years ago a opinion poll about investing, so we know what they are useing. There was no switching, a canon user stays canon, sony to sony, nikon to nikon. Fuji gfx users started with fuji gfx when it comes out. There is no switching in last times because of fuji doing something special.on the contrary, ambassadors of fuji switched to other brands, because fuji don't listen to pros. And i wrote about pros only. And last, in my " country" with 1.2 mio residents are not even 700 pro photographers with licence. As member( job) of the chamber of commerce i know whats going on.
I should have made a video of this, but over the weekend I did a photo shoot and I used my old vintage MC Rokkor-x 50mm f1.4 lens, and a old Konica Minolta 70-210mm f3.5, attached to my 45 megapixel EOS R5 And this was kind of an audition, so to speak, for a much more experienced and fully self-employed photographer, and the pictures came out utterly perfect. And I have used my 50 mm for some product shots also. It's just such a distinctive look. Damn I really should have made a video on that
I did used a hasselblad and many leicas…..the hasselblad….the blad is such a clunker, didn’t enjoy using it at all. Other medium formats definitely gave a better user experience.

You‘re talking about Wephan Stiesner, don’t you? 🤪
Where have you been my whole life. Wonderful video and delivery
Most of the time I have no idea what he's talking about. But I can't get enough of it.
The humor is top notch on this channel I love it! 18 MPG is pretty good considering the smile the drive put on your face.
I'm a fuji shooter and love my gear, but equally are getting a kick out of your blunt assessment of their gear. LMAO. You should defo be a Fuji X ambassador, that would make my day.
Ok, I am definitely not regret for subscribing to your channel...☺ Good job! Waiting for continuing
Why? If you like a certain look, but start with a better starting point, aren’t you still ahead?
If you get the Hasselblad how do you get it repaired?
my canon 5d mk 2 looking at a 722,000 + shutter count, Personally, a few years ago I had the Fuji X Pro 1 and it was of no use to me for field work one of the buttons broke
, I returned to Canon about 3 months later I like to have equipment that I can squeeze enough out before making a reinvestment.
@@mikafoxx2717 BUYIT
@@mikafoxx2717R6 is awesome if you want to mirrorless. I do own thr 5D and the 6D. Both great an fun to use.
"This is where we make money, to do stupid things at home". That is beautiful. Laughing my ass off, thank you!
I shoot both Canon and Fuji, I use the R6 for business and X-H2 for pleasure. I would love to get into the GFX system!
My brain kept jumping to motorcycle mode reading that 😋
It's nice to see Scott is human and can buy 'wants' in his personal life.
Unless I am wrong I think you can't mount a IQ4 150 on a Hasselblad V. The last one you could on a V system was the IQ380 (and the IQ1 50).
You can but it’s messy. I have a video on here somewhere which I’m using it
As a side note to my previous comment, I come to your channel to put sensible into my head.
I’m sending you some love by way of a picture of my Hasselblad 500, taken using my Leica M6, you’re welcome…
PS …keep up the (very) good work
I feel you on the “nearly”. My grails were m4 and m9 ….. I got my m4 but settled for an m8 as my nearly, and I’m not looking back.
Gotta love it schoook choook, skuruck skuruck ... As you say *with your Hazylight analogy; you go all wistful and dreamy ... love it, love it, love it
Absolutely 💯 right and make so much sense. Agreed maestro 🙏🔥. I switched to Fuji GFX from Nikon setup last year, due to affordability and quality we get. On the other hands as old school background this camera is the Beast in every way. Greta job Fuji. 🙏🔥
What is everyone editing on now that Capture one express is gone?
i'm already switched back to Canon from Fuji =)
I'm a canon shooter contemplating adding fuji (gfx), can I ask you why you went back and from what?
@@mmeerdam i have a gfx 100s in my studio only for big projects. Rare ones. I have no pleassure much to use the 100s
I really enjoy using mine very much! Gives me a huge smile every time I use it. Even with its quirks. Character.
Honest and all common sense!
I love the Xpro2
Fuji have figured out the classic camera haptics and aesthetics for the modern digital age. Bravo to them.
Excellent video 😊!
I’m not that fussed about Fujis but really want to hear more about the car!
Iirc Canon A1 HP5+ used for personal.
Ohhh great opinion! congrats!!
What do you shoot for your personal photography? I know you enjoy film.
My current fave is a canon F1 with waist level finder and a 28mm prime, but I go through phases with my film cameras
I'd love an M6 too, but film and processing is too expensive these days.
Love them.
That little dig at the end there was fantastic.
So the gist of it all is that I use Fujifilm in my daily work as a photographer... but Hasselblad is still my favourite.
please tell us more about Hasselblad system
Does Fuji make full frame cameras?
Well done, you hit it on the nail.
:))) you are so right! I also thought I could get a cheap Leica M with the x100v. However, I already had an M2 and still prefer to shoot with the M2.
car tour or we riot
Because it offers the best value per pixel density and also takes Canon EF lenses with an adapter.
I moved to Fuji more than 5 years ago. (My dream camera is a Leica too but I can't justify the price tag). I am very happy with my XT4, though I also have a pair of Ricoh Griii's because I can carry them easily with all the stuff that I carry around for work.
Right on the money. I just bought a Fuji over a leica 2 weeks ago for this exact reason
You have the Zenxa Bronica and that’s a beautiful tool, but I suppose it’s just not the camera that went to the moon. I haven’t even wrapped my head around my first SLR (I’ve had it about 6 weeks) haha.
Using X-S10 and with the right settings and filters I am able to match Blackmagic output. Amazing for a $1000 camera.
It's simple. RUclipsrs are the equivalent of a Hive mind
Nice! And beautiful! A thing that any visiting photographer would surely want to pick up and handle... Because... It's a Hasselblad.!
I always describe it as:
When I had a Canon it felt like using a hammer, but when I use a Fuji it feels like using a fine paintbrush.
Great videos !more about cool glass please
Check out the Fuji X-Pro series. Unless you need the leaf shutter it's basically the interchangeable version of the X100 series, Then you will get addicted to the little Fuji prime lenses.
I'm an architecture photography hobbyist and I shoot with a Hasselblad X2D.
I’m staying with the camera system I have my company doesn’t need to put out any more money than necessary what we have now gets the job done and it certainly isn’t Fuji !
How come an m6 over an m7?
X100 series is a bit oddball. Yes, it definitely has the "old school film rangefinder look" (well, I had a X100S and T). But starting from F, it became more and more expensive. Perhaps a XE3 + 23 f/2 lens is more affordable.
And the GFX is definitely a more affordable medium format kit.

Great video as always I'd love a Hasselblad 500 CM but I can't afford one so I'm buying the next best thing, a Kiev 88 otherwise known as the Hasselbladski.
I have a GFX because I can’t justify spending for the Hasselblad even though it’s the camera I want. I can buy 2 Fuji lenses for each Hasselblad lens.

Lots of people chose Fuji because color science, no matter pro or an amateur. Fuji has good color science and minimal tweaks/adjustments needed. And this is very attractive to the ones who
a) don’t know how to work with color in post and have zero desire to learn
b) don’t want to edit and get it straight out of the camera pretty much
And there is nothing wrong with either.
I was not taken in by Fuji stayed with Nikon and happy to have done so.
But i bought into the fuji system in 2018
I think the apsc mount is great for fast action especially the hx2s it really has made the system usable for wedding work
Also i do agree with you about the evf of the gfx but for me its not a big deal i use the screen and the evf is not a big deal to me to use mabye its because im a Millennial lol
Also with linar motor lenses like the 50 3.5 which i think is a very underated lens the linear motors really help make the best of the fased detect autofocus its really good and ive used it in mild action shots like a slow dance or when the bride dose a twirl of with her dress ect.
X100v? Why not the x pro 3?
If they ever produced a square digital back, I would have kept my 500cm (or my Bronica SQA's for that matter). Having a digital back that is always in landscape when one is using the waist level viewfinder becomes completely impractical when shooting in a portrait orientation. If only they would create a 56mm square sensor (anywhere between 24-60mp), now that would be amazing. Of course, it would be more expensive than the Merc and the petrol!
I think sinar has one that’s about 8 or 12 mp
i am a photographer and i know a lot of them here in my country, no one switched to fuji, all the pros using sony, nikon, canon, maybe some amateur photographers or selfcalled " streetphotgraphers" with x100 series
I should have made a video of this, but over the weekend I did a photo shoot and I used my old vintage MC Rokkor-x 50mm f1.4 lens, and a old Konica Minolta 70-210mm f3.5, attached to my 45 megapixel EOS R5
And this was kind of an audition, so to speak, for a much more experienced and fully self-employed photographer, and the pictures came out utterly perfect.
And I have used my 50 mm for some product shots also. It's just such a distinctive look.
Damn I really should have made a video on that
Rokkor lenses are just beautiful.
@@lesath7883 it's literally my favorite lens. Next thing I need to get is a vintage anamorphic.
50 years ago Olympus offered the Olympus Trip. 35mm, sharp and small. The X100V is only popular as it follows the same idea.
I did used a hasselblad and many leicas…..the hasselblad….the blad is such a clunker, didn’t enjoy using it at all. Other medium formats definitely gave a better user experience.
