This is actually incredible! I’ve genuinely always wondered how prosthetics work when replaced with actual limbs. My number one question whenever I would see someone that had one would be like, “How do you make it function?” Needless to say, this answers my question. 😊
It's not even the same tbh. Gotta be careful with the Bionic arm. It's limited now. There are certain grip rock climbers use that is capable of up to 450 Newton meters of torque before spraining your finger joints and / or felangies. That's more torque than the average car on the road. Highly doubt this arm would get anywhere close. It's all round, not even similar besides the fact it can move like an arm and like your own fingers.

Flamethrower? Absolutely, though it might be bulky since the fuel tank, pilot light, etc. would have to be built around all the mechanics. Grappling hook? Almost certainly not. The kind of motor and cable you'd need for it to be able to actually pull you? With our current technology level, they'd be too big to be practical. Besides, if it's strong enough to lift you, it's also strong enough to just yank the arm off entirely.
Bionics is actually incredibly interesting. Advancements are made all the time - relatively recently (if I remember correctly) scientists figured out how to directly hook into the remaining nervous system of those who have lost their hands. This has enabled them to not only restore most fine motor control through bionic hands, but even a degree of sensation and resistance (a rudimentary form of touch).
I wanted to do prosthetics like this when I went to college, but the college cut the program while I was in my first year. I changed my major to something else rather than changing colleges, and now years later I regret that choice. The evolution of prosthetics is amazing.

Sure u look cool but if u want something really function as another arm/hand, i recommend waiting for another 10y or so, because elon musk's recent invention of brain chip will improve prosthetic's function by a lot, might reach something close to real body part someday
I hope in the future bionic arms become so advanced it feels just as normal as their regular arm, with 0 flaw’s whatsoever. Like imagine if they were to customize it and give themselves a terminator arm.
