Great video mate! Me and my family are going along western australias coastline for 5 months caravaning and hardcore land based fishing. Any reccomended fishing spots? Also if we do rock fishing in places like that, do we need the pole with the hook to grab onto the fish or can we just grab it by its tail?

Thanks Oli, sounds like an awesome trip you have planned.
There are so many options, my recommendation would be to look for the ideal weather in each of the regions. North of Kalbarri is very hot and windy for the summer months, south coast is cold and rainy most of winter.
Quobba, steep point and dirk Hartog island all offer extreme Rock fishing opportunities. South of kalbarri offers some rock but plenty of good beach fishing through to Dongara
The south west and south coast offers rock and beach with better fishing in the more remote regions, maybe take a look around bremer bay,
It’s a broad question so it’s hard for me to be specific on areas.
With regard to the gaff, there are some spots you definitely need it and others you may be ok for but it depends on swell. Given the length of your trip it’s probably worth the investment and the safety in gaffing away from the waters edge - life jackets are a good idea too

I was using a saltiga GT 86 rod with a saltiga maverick 6500 reel. Older gear but still well made. Lure was an 85g surecatch knight. Same rod for bottom fishing too
