    The music for the undisclosed planet feels like a heavily forested environment. However, later parts of the music give an idea of something foreboding looming in shadows. Something of which the forest and its inhabitants are afraid. When I close my eyes and listen to it, I can’t help but see myself wondering through a lush canopy of leaves. It starts to rain, but not so much as to force me to stop racing through the branches. I slow down as I approach the dead land. The outsiders tore out the trees and made a large structure out of stone and metal. They don’t welcome us and will hurt us if we get too close.

      Same! Even on FFF that aren't specifically about new items/features, we still get sneak peaks at some haha

    Hey, did you notice that trains have artillery wagons on Vulcanus? So probably it means that we have enemies on that planet. I`m very curious about new enemies. Specially for new environments like Vulcanus.

    Excellent video. I did NOT expect this to be the FFF. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
    I love each of them. I know you personally found the Fulgora one to be more jarring than the others, but for me that one is my favorite. I am biased, synthwave/EDM/techno is one of my favorite genres of music, so maybe that's why I didn't feel jarred at all. Most of my playthrough has synthwave in the background. Personally it makes sense considering this is the planet that USED to contain not just life, but a high tech society, this fits high tech ruins quite nicely. I pulled up FFF 398, of fulgora's ruins, on my work PC while listening to this and that fits SO well with it. It's different for sure, but I think that's the intention.
    That new planet they are teasing sounds so lush and full of life. While it definitely makes me think of a jungle or somewhere teeming with life, it also reminded me SUPER heavily of Sim City 4's OST. Part of me wishes we have to contend with an actual society there.
    Definitely going to rewatch this when I get home to hear them again with headphones.

      Thanks! I also was surprised to see this as the FFF when I woke up this morning. But it was indeed a welcome surprise!
      I can certainly understand where you're coming from with enjoying the synthwave / techno soundtrack for Fulgora. It does fit it very well!
      I suspect that once I'm actually there and playing it, I'll enjoy the music for it a lot more.
      Ah yeah, I listened again and the last one for a teaser does remind me of sim city 4 OST. I personally am really looking forward to a lush forested planet, teeming with life and giving us more interesting ways to interact with the natural environment, etc.
      But... I certainly wouldn't complain about a planet with some sort of actual civilization we have to deal with. That would be a total surprise I think, but not a bad one necessarily. :)

    All nice things but there are so many things like the second floor Train - it will be not feel like a AddOn for Factorio - it fells for me more than a Factorio 2. Im very sure the pla feeling are complete different. Im not saying its wrong, but it will be complete a diffenrent Game. So both Games could stay and im sure also the Factorio what we have now will be have always a big place in my heart and on my SSD but also the new Factorio game. It is noch only an updatet version of Factorio.
    Thx for this and all other videos. You get always a like from me also this video. Have a nice day @ll.

    I like the Fulgora music. Sounds a lot like dungeon of the endless.
    Also new planet sounds like an unending blizzard, ice and crystaline facets.

    The last soundtrack gives me some magic/fantasy vibes, like a mix of skyrim + harry potter + chrono trigger. I'm guessing the other two planets are where things are going to get real with like some exotic stuff and materials and high tech sci-fi, just not to the level of space exploration.

    The beacon grids on Fulgora are probably a sign that they don't plan to overhaul the beacon mechanics. Unless it is a red hering.

    Very nice looking forward to hearing this in game. 😃 The Fulgara music is a bit jarring compared to the rest of the music, BUT, I can see it fitting the theme of that planet, so think it IS a good choice.
    Two mods I have always used (for 5-6 years at least), is the Ambient music mods "Atmospheric Soundtrack - Moon" (music from the movie "Moon") which has a nice spacy feel, and "Tangerine Music Labs - Ambient Jams Mod" and then just edited the .json to the current game version for each major update, cause the mods are 7 years old. 🤣 ) But I can get enough of how nice they complement the game music.

    I mostly like the new music, but personally I feel Vulcanus is the weakest and most out of place. It’s the least original track, which plays it super safe-surprisingly non-modern standard Romantic era stuff, and would be the first time Factorio has had music with no electronic elements, which feels very out of place to me. The Vulcanus is even introducing some heroic archetypes which are just completely out of place in this game and a really odd choice to me.
    And a few of these tracks really emphasize these unbroken string swells, which I feel is just a bit too harmonious for Factorio. I think I’d prefer a more textured and polyphonous approach in places, although, I think their approach for the space theme makes a lot of sense. One thing I love so much about the current Factorio soundtrack is it really captures that experimental sombre-yet-somehow-also-slightly-cooky ‘mad-scientist’ vibe, which is the whole core idea of the game building machines on an unfriendly world. Some of the music is getting a little bit too far away from that for me personally.
    Overall, I do like the body of music presented here a lot though.

    this may be a long shot but the potential forest planet could be called:
    click "read more" to see it though so you can decide to see it
    Silvanus
    This is due to "fulgora" and "vulcanus" names seamingly following roman mythology I think
    edit: didnt realise people already potentially got the name of it as something else (and it isnt what I guessed)

    Fulgora's track is cool but it's too discordant for me and I'd turn it off after a while.

      Well keep in mind that in the expansion Rocket's cost is greatly reduced. Like 1/10th the cost of what they are now to make.

    with all the new improvements coming up, it kind of feels somewhat meaningless (variant of the osbourne effect maybe?) to build out on my current save -- as I'd do everything differently from the beginning anyway as soon as the 2.0 releases

    • @Xterminator
      @Xterminator  5 месяцев назад

      I can understand that, and I think a lot of people are feeling that way.
      But if you still have the urge to play, try to just focus on your goals and experiences you want from your current save, and don't think ahead to the expansion. :)
      I know this sounds really cliche, but just being in the moment and enjoying the game for what it is now can help a lot with continuing to play until 2.0.

    • @Xterminator
      @Xterminator  5 месяцев назад +4

      While I'd like to be optimistic, I think they probably still have some big stuff to do, which is why they haven't revealed the other planets yet.
      But I am hoping for a late August, or mid September release. :)

  • @UnashamedlyHentai

    The space and Fulgora music are fanastic, imo. They sound great and they fit their environment perfectly. The Vulcanus music is a miss for me. It sounds good, but it's not fitting _at all._ I feel like Vulcanus needs deep bass strings and maybe some percussion. Brass was the wrong choice there. It would be good for another planet with a different vibe.
    The sneak peak music feels like a green or maybe lush yellow planet with lots of non-hostile life, but maybe harsh conditions like regular earthquakes or tornadoes or something.

    • @Xterminator
      @Xterminator  5 месяцев назад

      Certainly a fair point. I personally like the Vulcanus music, but I can definitely see where you're coming from and how deep bass strings and percussion could fit it really well.
      The sneak peak music definitely sounds lush and happy and bright, at least for the first half or so. I expect it to be on the green forested looking planet, or maybe some water planet perhaps.
