imo the worst special stage was special stage 4 because there's ring boxes over a bottomless pit, and you're pretty much required to break at least a couple of them if you want to win. it's very frustrating.

I actually recently thought of a sonic game called "Sonic Returns" and it would be a new unique take on not just the blue blur, but 3D sonic games as a whole, and if it EVER gets into development, I want you to be one of the composers! Especially since it will *hopefully* have a full blown reimaging of sonic 3 and knuckles called "Sonic 3 Limited Edition", complete with restored unused content, hydro city finally lives up to it's name by being an ancient, abandoned city built by the echidna tribe years before their near extinction, stages like sandopolis that were previously known for being one of, if not, the WORST stages in the entire game, become some of 3 limited edition's best levels. Even two brand new zones would be added to the story mode! The reason I bring up 3 limited edition, might I remind, is because I want you to not only make songs for these two new zones, but also brand new songs for carnival night, ice cap, and launch base zones respectively, as I want new songs to take the place of the Michael Jackson tracks, rather than the prototype music be ruined like it was in origins. I feel you would be perfect for the job since your Fallenstar music sounds like it would sound absolutely FANTASTIC if remixed with the sega genesis soundfont! Your music is absolutely AMAZING and I hope you could compose a lot of the soundtrack for sonic returns, but we will have to wait for the game to actually get in development, if that ever happens.

Downloaded the game yesterday night and got up to Frozen Fountain Act 1. The songs are all so great an a perfect fit for a Classic Sonic game (despite not using the bit instruments), but THIS is clearly the most memorable. Especially because I already have 5 emeralds (and kept dying for the fourth one, lol). This music really encourages going out of your way to get them
you can retry special stages by restarting the act (exit to main menu) and going back to the special ring you just collected. Progress doesn't save until an act is cleared. It's what helped me get all seven by Discount Districts 1.

What's weird is that the fifth is the easiest one, which is especially surprising for me because I always struggle with the fifth one in every other Sonic game.

i remember trying the first special stage, over and over again, countless times, perfecting every single move and doing pixel perfect jumps, and still failing each time.. in the end I realized the game was running at half speed because my computer couldn't handle it, and the special stage timer doesn't slow down accordingly lmao
it's so weird, when you experience a media wrong in a way that wasn't originally intended, and you never realize you did because you never experienced it the way it was meant to. especially emulators and TVs, when they're set to stretch the image into widescreen lol! or how a lot of the art in the sonic trilogy was made to take advantage of the peculiarities of CRTs, and so people playing on flat LCDs would lose those effects and never realize it. or how the GBA's screen displays colors differently from other screens.... or how some old anime and cartoons found digitally today have different colors from how they were originally... or how SADX is significantly worse than the DC release visually and was very buggy too, causing the public opinion on Sonic Adventure to shift... that's what happened when i was playing the special stage, it was actually going at 0.5x speed and i never knew until i saw footage of it online, where i realized why i couldn't beat it no matter how hard i tried lol!
just found this game out thanks to Blue Vivacity and I love everything this game has to offer. especially the Music. absolutely love this soundtrack right besides Colors, Unleashed, 3 & Knuckles and Mania. oh and Hysteria

This is AMAZING! I love this game, the special stages were fun and enjoyable and such an adrenaline rush! The levels had great little gimmicks and are great at keeping sonic's speed up, and the OST is the cherry on top. I dare to say it but I like this game better than Mania.
The "Aight THIS TIME I'LL GET IT FOR REAL THO" theme song Some special stages were so funny LOL it felt like i was playing cat mario - sonic edition springs that helped you go over pits at lower speeds but literally killed you at higher speeds, fans that are annoyingly hard to land on properly especially on death pits, etc. But the music (and super sonic lol) definitely made me wanna keep goin. It's so hectic n energetic! Def one of my favorite tracks despite the stages they're on- mad props!

I only got the game last week and have been having a blast playing through the game, though I'm currently stuck at act 2 of the stage that I believe is after the Metal Sonic boss. Whenever I played the special stages, the Music kept me going and retrying to get all 7 emeralds which I did get in the end. The gameplay is amazing and the soundtrack reflects it amazingly, good work to all who worked on the game.

Honestly, the hardest one (prior to the patch) was 5, mainly because of the difficulty ramp. But looking back on it, it got easier overtime. plus i stayed to the far right most of the stage lol
I really liked the special stages in this game they were difficult and frustrating but very fun as well and the music was soo good kinda wish there was a mode where you could play the special stages after you completed the game 100%

Just downloaded the game today and it’s just as amazing as I thought.

I really liked the special stages in this game they were difficult and frustrating but very fun as well and the music was soo good kinda wish there was a mode where you could play the special stages after you completed the game 100%
