Some other Pentatonix songs that you might enjoy reacting to could be 1. Imagine 2. Bohemian Rhapsody 3. Hallelujah 4. The Sound of Silence 5. Waving Through a Window All of those songs I find extremely beautiful.
Hallelujah Live, A Christmas Special in Chicago, is just as good if not better than the official video, you’ll get to see who's doing what in the video.
Pentatonix has truly redefined a capella for the music industry! They’re celebrating a decade together with the release of an all original album The Lucky Ones! This Pentaholic would recommend Amazing Grace, My Favorite Things & Sound of Silence!!!
Speaking of Sounds of Silence, I recommend Disturbed's version; Amazing. To listen to another top-notch acapella group, consider Home Free. Maybe start with Man of Constant Sorrow, Ring of Fire, American Pie (with guest vocalist Don McLean, yes, that one!) and only then check out Mayday.
I just wanted to say that even though you were just watching and not saying anything, it was still a reaction video! because you were reacting with your facial expressions and tiny little comments. very in the moment, authentic reactions! i absolutely love your reactions, even when you're just watching
Me as a Pentaholic: We've gained another one y'all!! Highly highly HIGHLY recommend reacting to their cover of Imagine!! Such an amazing message behind it in relation to them as a group and sits heavier given the current time we are in.
Since you've covered Voctave, Voiceplay, and Pentatonix now, I think its time to recommend Home Free to round out your acappella journey. I'd suggest starting with the usual "Man of Constant Sorrow" or "How Great Thou Art". You won't be disappointed I promise.
Also add "Run to you," "Daft Punk" medley, "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy," and "Jolene." The last 3 they won Grammys for. Oh, and any of the "Evolution of" pieces.
Pentatonix suggestions: literally everything But for real: Sound of Silence Imagine Waving through a window Shallow Daft funk medley My favorite thing (you might already have heard it since you talked about loving their Christmas albums lol but it’s my favorite music video of theirs. The video is just 👌) Bohemian Rhapsody Can you feel the love tonight (underrated cover of theirs imo) Also Superfruit are really good (just Scott and Mitch from Pentatonix) and Kevin has some great covers which he plays all the instruments for Or you know ... follow my first recommendation and listen to everything they ever put out ... 😏😂
more specific: Kirsten: mezzosoprano Mitch: tenor, arguably countertenor Scott: lyric baritone (range extends into bass and low tenor) Matt: lyric bass (range extends up into low tenor[!]) Kevin: beatboxer, cellist, tenor former member Avi: basso profundo Comparing the two basses, Avi could go lower and do other vocal tricks like overtone singing; Matt can go higher, and is more evenly matched with Scott in range, although their timbres differ on the same pitches. Scott takes bass lines when Matt leads.
@@xheralt This! What I love about Pentatonix 2.0 is that they challenged themselves to cover larger ranges and mix up their roles. There's just 'meat, potatoes, middle, lead, counter'. They blend and change their roles within and across songs and I think it makes them FAR more versatile.
I mean she does use her keyboard quite often, so it's probably not perfect but she has been doing it for a long time so she can probably hear it better than others
Where to begin? Say Something (cover) if you want to cry. Sing (original) if you want to do your happy dance. Imagine (cover) if you want a wave of emotions. Bohemian Rhapsody (cover) if you want your mind blown. Wizard of Ahhs (collaboration with Todrick Hall) for an epic retelling of a classic. Don't Worry/Winter Wonderland for a holiday mashup with Tori Kelly. If you're familiar with their Christmas work you may know Thank You (original), but if you haven't seen the video it's a Norman Rockwell painting come to life. You won't find anything from Pentatonix that you won't like. And the I'm-supposed-to-be-reacting-but-I'm-too-stunned thing... well, that's typical 😄
You should react to them doing sugarplum fairy, mitch's high note is INSANE!!! (And off topic but I LOVE sierra boggess and ramin karimloo's phantom of the opera from the brit awards, she was sick when they sang but still somehow sounded AMAZING)
The family and I saw them live in Orlando. They are perfect on stage with dance moves and voices. I can't wait to see them again. Home Free is another great vocal band.
I highly recommend watching all of their The Sing-Off performances! They have always been phenomenal, but watching them live is like a prestigious honour 😍
I love how you get caught up in the music. There's a certain point in almost every Pentatonix song (usually the penultimate passage/chorus/section) that momentarily takes my breath away. It's that close-your-eyes-so-you-can-hear-it-better moment (I know you know what I mean; it's like turning the radio down in the car so you can find an address. It doesn't make sense, but it does.).There are songs I've listened to dozens of times and I still get goosebumps, I'm still so *moved* by their close harmonies, still surprised by how amazing they all work as one breath. Stunning. Your giddiness and enthusiasm are contagious, and I'm now a subscriber. :)
You should listen to their version of “Seasons of Love.” Kirstin’s breath control on the high note toward the end is unbelievable! She really shines in the song.
Hey Hannah, I’ve learnt so much about singing from watching your videos and you always make my day brighter! Thank you and keep doing what you’re doing :))
Pentatonix! They are my favorite because you never know what style of music they will do. In this one, Kevin who is usually their masterful beatboxer, is singing, so we have a five note harmony. I love their very distinctive voices and their amazing arrangements. They are talented, sophisticated, fun, silly, serious, so professional and generous. Love them. 🤗
If you like acapella you should listen to Home Free- a country acapella group that won the sing off the season after Pentatonix (they competed against VoicePlay)! Their covers of Man of Constant Sorrow and Ring of Fire (with Avi Kaplan) are incredible!
Pentatonix Home Free Voiceplay These three groups came from the show the Sing Off. Everything they do is awesome. I personally lost track of them after the show until these songs caught my ear - then my heart :) Pentatonix - Hallelujah Home Free - Do u hear what I hear Voiceplay - Oogie Boogie Song Now they are pretty much all I listen to
I love Pentatonix!!! Everything they do is gold. My favorite songs!!! I loooove Mad World always have!!! Its on my playlist. I know it by heart. I like their radioactive rendition as well!!!
"I didn't like this song until...." is a common response I'll have with a Pentatonix cover! Maybe check out some of their original music. "The Lucky One from their most recent album? (Also titled The Lucky Ones). Or "Space" or "Happy Now" What's also cool is to go to their roots on the Sing Off. They are so much better now, but it's amazing to think of how far they've come. And the fact that they got together right before they competed. The performance that hooked me for good was "Love Lockdown" by Kanye. That was definitely a "I didn't like this song until..." for me!
Sometimes, when people see you are mesmerized, that can be a bigger compliment. They are fantastic. And instead of breaking into the song they are singing, and you look awestruck, that tells more than comments, sometimes. Harmonies are hard to do and if you just look stunned, that says it all.
I love watching new people react to and fall in love with this “out of this world” group like all of us Pentatonix fans (pentaholics) . You should also check out the videos showing their vocal ranges if you’re interested. The newer ones though not the older ones
The Last time I listened to pentatonix Was when Hallelujah came out. I listened more thank two years Pentatonix. They are such a great Group. The make me goosebumps every time
You are missing out on another acapella group, Home Free, who also won The Sing Off. They have an extensive catalog of music. Collaborations with Kenny Rogers, Alabama, The Oak Ridge Boys, Peter Hollins and Billy Gilman to name just a few. They tour about 200 to 250 shows a year. They have a great repour with their fans not only here in the US, but in Europe also. Their bass has a 5 plus octave range just to start with.
I have watched a lot of PTX reaction videos, but I really enjoyed yours! I liked how you add technical information...like the note starting with a cry or the chest voice. I am not at all musically trained and really like learning about those things. What does A4 or 4A mean? I cannot remember how you phrased it. Thank you for the video and I look forward to more of your PTX reactions. They are my absolute favorite group!! Oh, Home is another awesome one!! It is a great mash up of different genres and they do it flawlessly!
First, let me say that the "and now you're all my students" always gives me a warm fuzzy and I love your videos. Also, what you should react to from them is their live performance of "Aha"...It's just SUPREME. If you search "pentatonix aha singapore" it's literally the first video. It's WILD.
Yes. The sheer looks of amazement. The disbelief. The smiles, chills and goosebumps that these guys voices and harmonies make you feel. It cannot be faked. Hannah's facial expressions and involuntary responses perfectly reflect how I feel when I hear Pentatonix. I'm subscribing just because of that. The original song is outstanding, but this is something else.
I LOVE, LOVE Petantonix, you should react to more of their videos 😁😍😍 I looove watching your reaction! Cuz they ARE amazing, always love their harmonies!
Hello Hannah, I am a recent new subscriber here and really enjoy your videos. You clearly have plenty of suggestions for PTX songs to react to and I look forward to your choice. I wanted to respectfully echo Joanna's (and other's) recommendation for you to consider the band Home Free as a candidate for future reactions. I believe they are worthy of your efforts. They have many great songs but I believe there is one that offers an opportunity to hear their vocal abilities in its most pure form. Their cover of "Helplessly Hoping" from Crosby, Stills, and Nash circa 1969 (also suggested by Joana) is a very stripped-down video, visually and vocally, that features the 5 members singing without the percussion effects. I am mentioning this one because of your appreciation of the PTX "Mad World" version and its "haunting" beauty. "Helplessly Hoping" affects me the same way every time. I believe there is plenty of time to explore the epic beatboxing skills of Adam and the mindblowing vocal gymnastics the band is famous for. Thanks and looking forward to exploring your channel.
Her face when they all join in singing...priceless! I think their best songs are Hallelujah, Home, and Carol of the bells. I've listened to pentatonix for like ever! I love them so much!
Ha! You think we didn’t see that tiny smile of yours when Kirstin did that small riff on her line near the end 😊. You didn’t comment on it but anyone paying attention knows you gave Kirstin recognition which I thought was very cool. Looking forward to more Pentatonix reactions, “Say Something” is devastatingly beautiful and Kirstie leads through most of the song. Thanks for the heartfelt and wonderful reactions ❤
Love you Hannah and welcome to the world of Pentatonix. This year marks 10 years since the world was introduced to this magical group on NBC's The Sing-Off. Since you loved this song, please check out these: Hallelujah (their most popular video at 607M views); Daft Punk Medley (first of three Grammy awards thus far); Mary, Did You Know? (from their first Christmas album); The Sound of Silence (my favorite of their covers). Keep up the great teaching.
Love Pentatonix. If you haven't reacted yet, have a listen to Country Acapella group Home Free, for pure harmony, perhaps 'How Great Thou Art' , 'Helplessly Hoping' .. or for something to demonstrate their versatility, perhaps 'Can't Stop the Feeling', or 'American Pie' .. 😏 Love your reactions.
You should try Liliac - “Mars” (live at a Cumming, GA 2019). The lead singer is Melody and she was 16/17 at this show. They are all siblings ranging from 12-21. Her voice is insane.
For a different group and harmonies that would make you weep watch Home Free cover How Great thou Art. There's another acapella rabbit hole for you. They won the Sing Off the season after PTX. Their bass has a five octave range.
Really enjoyed your reaction. I’d love to watch you react to Home Free and more PTX. I love everything either group does. But HF’s ‘In the Blood’ is gorgeous but often overlooked by reactors. Same with PTX’s ‘Dancing on my Own’ (which features their beat boxer playing his cello. It was right after their bass singer left, and the cello ‘sings’ the bass notes)
Gosh I forgot how much I love your reactions - especially when you're reacting to a group I love this much. Your Pentatonix reactions and Voctave reactions made me subscribe to this channel and I'm so looking forward to more of those.
Some other Pentatonix songs that you might enjoy reacting to could be
1. Imagine
2. Bohemian Rhapsody
3. Hallelujah
4. The Sound of Silence
5. Waving Through a Window
All of those songs I find extremely beautiful.
And the wizard of ahhs ft todrick hall is another great one!
Hallelujah is AMEZING HAHAH
Hallelujah Live, A Christmas Special in Chicago, is just as good if not better than the official video, you’ll get to see who's doing what in the video.

Thats the first song I ever heard from them way back in the day so I absolutely agree.
Yeeeees love that kevin actually sings in that and we're blessed to hear his beautiful voice

That is called the "Stank Face." When something is so good you make that face...
You can hear Scott's bass voice in Sounds of Silence. He has an incredible range.
Soo true I was so surprised, he sound amazing in the beginning of sounds of silence. One of my favorite songs from them.
Him and Matt are switching back and forth here, when Matts singing lead its Scott, and when Scotts singing lead it's Matt
You can actually hear it in this song as well, when Matt takes the lead
Pentatonix "Mary did you know?" This song gave me the chills it was sooo good
Yess. Its sooo goood
oh, THESE harmonies...that Instagram clip makes a lot of sense now

Who else wants to see her react to Hallelujah for the "Mitch Slap"?
Any other Pentatonix song is fantastic. Hearing their transitions and transformations from early Pentatonix to now. They evolve so well.
Hey, you should react to acapop kids, they are a group formed by Scott Hoying from pentatonix! It's over 30 kids and they are SO TALENTED

A few that highlight their arrangement and vocal skills:

Run To You
Say Something
Amazing Grace

100% agree. An amazing collab they did with some other artists was a cover of Katy Perry’s “Rise”.
4:30 that’s actually mitch singing the high note! he’s a counter tenor and often sings the top part in the arrangements.

Love your reactions.
Love hearing actual commentary on the vocal techniques!
For Pentatonix: they just came out with a 90's dance medley a couple weeks ago
You should try Liliac - “Mars” (live at a Cumming, GA 2019). The lead singer is Melody and she was 16/17 at this show. They are all siblings ranging from 12-21. Her voice is insane.
Pentatonix never fail. All their songs are so much fun to listen to.
YES I LOVE PTX!!
It’s rare for singers to make me cry. This group always does.
Also sound of silence, hallelujah, daft punk , I could go on
Pentatonix - Amazing Grace and Sound of Silence are incredible!!
Their recent cover of "Amazing Grace" is incredible.
Pentatonix has SO many beautiful numbers!! Aha is a particular favorite of mine! And their winter hymnal!
For a different group and harmonies that would make you weep watch Home Free cover How Great thou Art. There's another acapella rabbit hole for you. They won the Sing Off the season after PTX. Their bass has a five octave range.
Need to do more pentatonix reactions, their arrangements are so good
Really enjoyed your reaction.
Please react to four Evans sing For Forever
I love that arrangement!!!
Yesyesyesyesyes!!!
YESSSS PLEASE
Yes! more Pentatonix reactions would be awesome. Jolene, Radioactive, Sound of Silence and Bohemian Rhapsody are all amazeballs!
I'm not gonna lie...I cried while listening to this 🤷🏻♀️
Everything Mitch comes in I get full body chills. 🤗🤗
