My daughter is 19. THIS MARINE is who I want her to emulate. Not the Kardashians. Young women have a role model in Off. Daisy Romero. So grateful for her service. 🇺🇸
Having watched dozens of vets tell their story I found this one so profound and my admiration for this lady , her courage , her strength, her resolve and her humanity so inspiring. She's a real warrior.
She’s a badass . I hit 3 IEDs in Iraq and then in 2014 got hit with a RPG at Bagram that ended my working career . 9 years in the ME ( military and contracting) and ptsd / TBI . Everyday is a challenge & can tell you the only reason I’m even still here is my wife & dog . I’m so happy these episodes are getting out there so people know their not alone .
May God bring you peace and quick healing yalls my 2nd most respected people on earth 🌎 other than GOD ❤️🙏🏻 THANKS FOR YALLS SERVICE AND SACRIFICES 🙏🏻❤
Everyone in the U.S needs to watch this to know what people sacrifice at the time and after even more. Daisy is an amazing lady with more balls than the next gen
I follow Daisy Romero on social media because to me she is the picture of resilience. I loved seeing her journey to Warrant Officer a few years ago. I believe we were in the same unit in Okinawa and we share mutual friends. I had to watch the full episode after seeing a short clip. Daisy, you are the type of leader we don't deserve but desperately need. Thank you for your contribution.
OMG THE 1st THING I WANT TO SAY IS SEMPER FI. THIS YOUNG LADY MIGHT BE THE GREATEST MARINE IVE EVER SEEN. IM JUST BLOWN AWAY AT HER PROFESSIONALISM. MY MARINE CORP TIME WAS NOTHING IN COMPARISON. I JUST WANT TO HUG THIS WOMAN
Warrant Officer Romero is a stellar example to all of us as to what true courage, compassion and leadership looks like. As a former active duty Marine, given the chance I would be proud as hell to serve under her command. Semper Fi ma'am.
I basically stumbled upon this site. As a former Marine grunt I honestly was a loud voice against putting female Marines in combat. This young Marine humbled me and put me in my place. I have struggled like her with issues. I closed my mouth and opened my ears. She has a lot to say and learn from. Quite a leader and mentor. She has re- motivated me to live life as my true self. Semper Fi Marine you are one the giants we walk with. I hope and pray you have a wonderful, great and joyous life. You're an incredible inspiration.
No one talks about how bad the FETs are for unit cohesion. The FETs are not self-sustaining, the other Marines have to come back from patrol and dig their latrines for them, do everything else for them, and it kills the dynamic of that unit that must support them.
@joelglanton6531 I don’t understand, female marines can’t dig with a shovel? Do you mean the way they are used/integrated is not cohesive? Seriously asking.
As a fellow Mexican American. It's incredible to see people, more importantly a women, like miss Romero share their stories. I was denied the opportunity to serve my country because of my bad decisions as a teen. But now as a father of a beautiful baby girl, I will show this to her when she grows old enough to understand it all. To understand that no matter the circumstances life puts you in. You can achieve great things in life. Whether it be by following in miss Romeros footsteps into the military. Or anything else in civilian life she may choose to do. You're an inspiration miss Romero to me and all our raza all around the world. God bless you and thank you for your service 🇺🇸
Glad you made it home alive. Thank you for your service. I deal with 2 tbi and ptsd myself. I deal with the migraine headaches, vertigo and auditory issues relating to my tbi. Please don’t hesitate to get help for everything you deal with. God Bless!
I'm so sorry to hear that I assume your tbi was combat related. Thank you for your service and we'd love to hear your story if you ever want to tell it. 🙏
"I didn't want to be no punk!" Classic! So brave to take on this men-centric challenge. So inspirational. Can't imagine living in fear in her own barrack. That's so messed up. " "I didn't say anything after the TBI because I didn't want to get pulled out of the fight. I didn't want to diminish our capabilities" The worst one wasn't our interpreter getting blown up in our vehicle with the entire front of his body gone..... The worst one was the guy in front of me getting blown up after stepping on a pressure plate. The entire first layer of my skin on my face was burned off. "It was just another TBI." What a tough, smart, beautiful war hero. Don't tell me women shouldn't serve in combat. Thank you for your service. And you continuing sacrfice.
I learned more ftom this woman, than all of the other interviews together. I never joined, but I was a cop. And back then, PTSD was just a Viet Nam combat vet thing. I thiught I had nothing to complain about. In my fifties, I find out what childhood trauma was. I still am existing in a box, within a cage. Maybe by seventy, I'll understand half of me. But I do care about you all.
It's easy to see that Daisy is reliving everything that she went through, and that it takes a lot of effort fir her to focus on the task at hand while still wirking through what she went through. As the person talking with Daisy shared with her, she is a Warrior. I tip my hat to you in respect and honor Daisy, from one Marine to another.
Oh wow, your story has me speechless. But what truly grabbed me was your observations on our increasingly isolationist culture and the need to hold on to humanity. ❤ Thank you for your service!
This message is for all those serving now or in the future reading this, any injuries you receive while serving make sure you get it documented in your medical record. This is so you can get it treated when you get older, because it catches up to you.
America is a great place to live and I am proud because of people like this young Lady. The spirit and drive and intelligence and character make me humbled and grateful. What a Lady. He parents are proud and so are we. Salute.
Thank you for sharing your stories. It's always great to hear the sister in arms come into the spot light. It's a reminder that our sisters are warriors too. I think you are blessed with a guardian angel🙏🏼🕊and now you have many more to continue to watch over you and your fellow Marines. Continue to take care of yourself and caring.
I’m currently trying to commission in the Marine Corps through Norwich, got my application done and waiting to go to MEPs, if I ever get the privilege of being a 2nd Lt. I hope I get NCOs like her to learn from.
It's all propaganda with the tougher than the rest. Do you think a Marine truck driver is tougher than a Navy SEAL or a Army paratrooper? You want a challenge become a paratrooper. When that door opens up and you hear the scream of the engines and the wind, you will find out what you're made off when you step into blackness.
@@Manbunmen65 ....She is tougher then you are. As a Marine she went through a harder boot camp then the Army Paratrooper or Navy Seal did. Also, as a female she couldn't even sign up for that. When I was in boot camp we had a prior service Army guy that had been Ranger qualified and had jump wings that quit after 3 week at Parris Island. How about you just thank her for her service to this Nation and shut your pie hole about how bad ass you think yourself is.
