FAQ:
Q. What is this?
A. This is a segmented speedrun - that means we use checkpoints to repeat difficult sections over and over again until we get the result we want, then splice all those successful segments together into this final run, so we can do the craziest, riskiest, and fastest strats.
Q. What version of the game is this? And what difficulty is it on?
A. Halo 1 Anniversary from the Master Chief Collection, played on PC. It's played on Legendary, with no skulls enabled.
Q. Is it a glitchless run?
A. No. We will utilize glitches and out-of-bounds strategies to the fullest extent, to showcase just how fast this game can go. That's also why we've added a handy overhead map to the more complicated OoB parts of the run to help explain what's going on.
Q. Is this faster than the current world record?
A. Oh yes, and by quite a lot. Just remember that it's not exactly a fair comparison, as we're using incredibly risky strats here that you would never hope to pull off in a normal, single-segment run. Maybe one day we'll develop easier setups for some of these tricks and they'll make their way into regular runs, but that might take a while.

Amazing run. It's hard to believe that 20 years of halo tricking has brought us here.
This is one of the few communities where glitch-finders are very well-respected and it's a very special feeling to have been a part of it, as cheesy as it may sound
& we should definitely thank you for Halo 2 tricks!
Thanks for the link on your stream last time, super worth to watch :D
You are the goat 🐐
Can't wait until this time in 2031 when Garish has put all these tricks in his full game runs
And then the segmented run will be sub 30.
Exactly what i said !
Now it's Camb1d

This is just perfect. The commentary is so good, and having the map to explain teleports is so useful. Everyone involved should be proud, I feel like this truly is the ultimate product of the 20 years of playing this game.
The commentary really good, and ithink the reason is that is sounds like they had an amazing time doing it!
The AOTCR bridge segment was absolutely insane
Blitz you should try speedrunning
@@ciperro Speedrunning communities are too good at spotting fake vids for that to work out
@@CHRISTPUNCHER18 What do you mean "fake"? In some videos he uses skulls or mods, but it's always listed in the description. Even with skulls or mods he still has to actually do the shit in the vids, which takes hours and hours. It's not like he's using an aim bot, or changing anything to make the trick easy or "free". I'd challenge you to try recreate almost any of the tricks he's done, even using the skulls he has enabled. It's not easy just because the game physics have been altered.
Hope everyone enjoyed the run!
Big shoutouts to the rest of the HaloRuns community and especially Burnt and Cambid for making this possible, along with Wackee for a lot of tech support and Goatrope for the amazing commentary!
Incredible! My brain needs a rest after this
Pedrogas hazme un hijo
Vine a ver el video después de verlo en tu canal ay apa
Recién empiezo esto de los speedruns, pero al final, en los créditos sale tu nombre
46 minutes!? Never in a million years would I have guessed that a time even remotely close to that would be possible. This entire run was so much fun to watch, I am in sheer awe at not just the ability to pull these strats off, even in a segmented setting, but the fact that these tricks were discovered at all. Congrats to every runner involved with this project, you made something you should be eternally proud of. We are so lucky to have a community full of such amazing people, keeping this game alive two decades after it's launch, and are truly blessed for the community to have people like Burnt in it; a man who is 80% brain by bodyweight.
Haha naw shucks, cheers!
Actually wild, T&R and anything with a shade turret was just hilarious
Kills all marines.
Saves Foehammer.
An acceptable trade.
This is unreal guys. I have never seen a run actually literally make my jaw drop so many times. Bravo in particular to burnt and cambid for putting in so many hours to get these unbelievable segments. The minimap was such a nice touch that looked so clean, and for me honestly the cherry on top is goatrope being able to commentate/react to this for the first time, having been a member of the speedrun community for so long and seen so much change in the game. I don't know if another segmented project can ever top this, well done gentlemen.
Mega hyped. Leaving a comment so Chronos knows I'm one of the guys that he got mad at for asking when this was dropping.
The turret part on T&R was incredible.
The fact that the Truth and Reconciliation launches aren't bot-assisted is blowing my mind. Bravo, fellas.
halo speedrunning has truly evolved
The turret jumps on T&R and AotCR were incredible.
Truth and reconciliation run gotta be the most insane thing I have ever seen
Been waiting two decades for that bridge skip on Halo. Epic beyond words

Two years until the next segmented project:
Halo 2: Anniversary Done Segmented (Legendary)
Commentary by Goatrope, MisterMonopoli, Cryphon, and rocats.
Make it happen!
I would have never thought you could beat halo ce THIS FAST
Holy fuck this was insanely fun to watch, jaw dropped a few times. Namely: Halo warthog nade boost instead of activating the bridge, TnR turret launches b2b2b, TnR shooting enemies through the wall on the extended belly skip, that ENTIRE SC level (what the actual shit), AOTCR turret bump segment into banshee out of bounds, AOTCR flawless final teleport, whatever the fuck 343 GS was, Library flood teleport, TB "real" super slide, TB trigger treasure hunt, Maw out of bounds rocket to reactor room, and the last rocket warthog boost. Incredible achievement here guys, very happy to see Goatrope involved too.

Never been shocked that much. This is over the edge even for a segmented. Totally well done, worth billions of claps
I've more hype for this project than halo infinite
bruhhhhh
What is it?
this is a certified bruh moment
Halo what?
GarishGoblin:*Heavy breathing*
15:24 The needler “broken for launches” was never explained...
I think it was kind of explained in the afterparty stream on twitch.
Ah yeah we kinda forgot haha. We did briefly go over it in the afterparty stream, but long story short: if a needler sticks into an object on the same frame that a stuck plasma grenade on that object explodes, the plasma grenade explosion will get duplicated to the needle impact point. This doubles its damage but more importantly, it's force
Unbelievable achievement! Great job Chronos, Burnt, Cambiid, and Goatrope on this video. The whole run is unbelievable, and I think this video will stand the test of time... commentary, overlay, production values, and the run itself. It's worth showing off for years to come. This run has strategies that I never thought possible. Literal zips and teleports in 3D space! The teleports and the shade launches really stand out for me as innovations in this run.
When we founded HaloRuns (2013-14) there were maybe 5-10 people who were doing full-game speedruns of the Halo series. Doing full game speedruns was something we really had to evangelize. (There's an article called "Going Somewhere Fast: The history of Halo speedrunning" that talks about how far we've come. I helped found HaloRuns with goatrope and Monopoli and wrote many of the original timing rules on the site, I'm quoted as "Reed Tiburon" in the piece.)
Fav moments:
POA out of bounds using Covie spawn bumps and teleports.
Launching over the lightbridge on Halo. How many times have I wanted to try that!?
HUGE Shade launches at the beginning of T&R -- makes me reminisce about the days of Warthog Jump.
Perfect grav lift fighting, very satisfying to watch.
Completely teleporting across top of the hangar in T&R. And sniping control room enemies THROUGH THE ROOF without line of sight?? 16:40
SC is nuts. I can't believe that strategy to Warthog launch over the map and turret clip directly to the Cartographer. Brilliant setup 19:55
Banshee out of level in AotCR AND teleporting directly to the button. Even the little shade launch at the beginning, it's a real throwback to the 2004 days of bridge falls :)
Unbelievable teleports on 343GS, you really have to watch the overlay to see just how much is skipped. Complete reveal skip!? That's the whole damn level! Ending level on 1 health to get fast cutscene... This might be my fav level from a technical perspective. 26:26
The teleports throughout Library are super impressive routing.
Showing off in Keyes by flying into the coolant trigger B) I didn't realize those enemies would still load lol.
The Maw ship section is such an efficient use of teleports, and hitting all the reactors from out of bounds is nuts! It's so fast you can barely track what's happening. 43:54
A work of absolute art. It's amazing how much effort was put into this masterpiece of a run...
Absolutely insane run. Proud to see how the whole run has progressed in the past 15 or so years.
this is unparalleled and unprecedented , salute , the authentic god-gamer , possibly halo ce producers have been waiting for this for 20 years like no real god-gamer before this clip
Incredible project, totally blew my mind how far the run has progressed. Massive thank you to everyone involved!
Ha when 'walls are just a suggestion' is an understatement. Amazing job guys, had a blast watching this!
I've watched so many speedruns of CE and I'm still just absolutely awestruck watching this
Insane run! Had my jaw dropping multiple times. So sick well done
I want to thank you guys so much for this segmented speed run. This is with out a doubt my favourite game of all time. I have been wandering for so long if it would ever be possible to get a sub one hour and you guys smashed it out of the park. Speed runners have no excuse to be able to get sub 1 hour now jk.
The glitches, the bumps/clips, the warthog jumps, the out of bounds and teleporting are just all incredible.
Cheers from a 33 year old Aussie.
Cheers a tonne - me and Cambid were both aussies too so this really was a down under project haha
The key to get this time is consistency.
That TnR run was perfection! Congrats on getting this done! :D
I’ve been waiting for this updated segmented run! This did it justice! Absolutely insane
The whole way through the video i had my mouth wide opened, and i though Garish Sppedruns are insane already...THIS IS ANOTHER LEVEL ! ! !
Oh! How things have changed. This was absolutely phenomenal and it's good to hear some returning voices.
the tnr beginning was just the best thing i have ever seen
It was crazy seeing this live well done to everyone involved absolutely insane 🎉
That was insane congrats on this i hope garish can put some of these methods to use an get sub 1hr however i think itll be extremely difficult . either way was awesome to watch congrats guys
Been waiting on this pretty much since the last segmented. So glad to see it finally!
Absolutely wonderful project, loved every second of this. Thank you to everyone involved for bringing this to life!
Out of many speedruns i seen this one made me seen tricks i never seen before its just jaw dropping
This is easily the coolest Halo video I have ever seen. Amazing work!
TnR is so insane. Absolutely mind blowing.
Unbelievable. Hope you can get rocats and some others for a Halo 2 segmented run. The first two games have the wildest speedruns, Bungie got better at covering all of their edge cases afterward :)
god damn this was pure art! everything about this was absolutely amazing from great clean hog driving, combat flicks, and ANYTHING to do with shade turrets - like TNR and 343 GS, i'll be coming back to this video a lot. looking forward to what the haloruns community brings next
This is one of the most beautiful youtube videos I've ever seen, well done.
I found this video on pedroga's channel, really amazing to see guys!
Ok the entire speedrun is just mind blowing. I don’t think I recognize this game anymore…
Under 1 hour? That is insane!
Master Chief in the books.
This is an amazing videos guys, Very very well done and editing is great, good explanation on segmented runs in the intro as well, yall are all amazing keep it up!!! -h3booter2
I don't even have words, this is incredible.
GG. That's an incredible and incredibly bonkers run. :)
Absolute mad lads! Absolutely insane to watch the potential and how much can still be done in a 20 year old game.
Love this, thank you all for making this video!
I'm with you guys, if you would have shown me this 20 years ago I would have thought you were lying. Incredible work!
Would love to see videos like this for the other halo games as well.
Wow my fav fav part was the shade turret jumping on the Truth and reconciliation.
Insane and a joy to watch. Cheers
Truth and reconciliation map was just phenomenal. Absolutely amazing playing my camb1d
RASEC was here :)
PÖNKKÖ
This is so impressive, thanks so much guys!
Marty! He's killin' the marines!
Incredible run! Props to everyone involved
This is amazing, you should all be so proud of such an achievement
I can't believe the most unexpected part was doing the beach firefight on SC instead of running to the warthog
Got my blanket ready for when it drops later tonight :D
This is TAS without the T
Nice to hear the commentators have fun with this. Great video, amazing work!
Absolutely beautiful stuff. My 7 year old brain always dreamed of silly stuff like this, but just...wow
here we go
Insane work! Well done to everyone involved.
INSANE
i was here
So hyped to be watching this.
Good God. That Truth and Reconciliation was insane!!
This might be garrish in a year after saying he's not going for WR
The first two mission i knew what was going on but truth and reconciliation fried the shit out of my brain the second they started to do tricks ;_;
This speedrun is mindblowing
dis gunna b gud
great video and commentary
20:06 to 20:52 Wow! that is some TAS Super Mario 64 grade bs, right there 🤌
This was great. I love how different segment runs are to full game runs. That TNR was wild, so much fun lmao.
Some suggestions if you're gonna make another segmented video like this in the future, maybe have the runners reduce the in-game sound by a bit so we can clearly hear the commentary and maybe edit in the runner's names during the levels that they're playing so the viewers knows which runner is currently the one playing.
Either way, good work to everyone who contributed to this.
this is absolutely insane
Absolutely insane!!
This is just mind blowing watching. This is something that I try to do but ai know I won’t be like this.
Amazing
This is nuts, cant wait to see sub 30 in 2030
Im sitting here having too much to drink, watching T&Rs going "what the fing hell"
This is amazing
Nice, good work guys
Insane work
This is how incredible i imagine master chief to actually be if he existed.
Master Chief in the book:
Incredible!
This was so insane.
Holy moly
