Keep forgetting how there's just over a dozen LucasArts adventures, feels like more than that!
There seemed so many more didn’t there.
Great vid. When you’re finished with the Broken Sword series, would love to see you do a play through of one of these, Fate of Atlantis maybe?
I’m on the fence of what’s next
The Dig is one of my favorites. The atmosphere is perfect.
Same here, the first seconds of the intro, standing on the edge of the museum spire…. All fantastic moments that cannot be rivaled. And the music of course.
@@Panzer_the_Merganser Agree 100%.
Let's do a video on ALL top adventures game of all time, across all developers!
Omg that would be both epic and terrifying (for me to make!)
Nice to see Monkey Island coming out on top (and also MI2 being close)...
In a lot of ways it's simpler than some of the others, as it doesn't have extensive animated cutscenes, or voices, and the puzzles are mostly quite simple...
But it totally nails it where it counts - amazingly atmospheric locations and top notch comedy writing.
Atmosphere, music, characters. To me this is always number 1
Loom @ no 9 is my all-time favourite!!!
(sorry Hob's Barrow) ...
Loom is amazing I agree
Common misconception, regarding the intent for The Dig script to be made into a film, when the idea actually was for it to be part of his "Amazing Stories" TV series (TV, Film... semantics lol). The 1987 (actual) film Batteries Not Included was also intended to be part of the same series.
Yeah as I was editing this I realised what I said. I purposely didn’t write a script for this video like I usually do as I wanted more of a relaxed feeling and there are a few things I could have recorded again but thought, huh, nevermind.
I would have thought Curse of Monkey Island would rank higher…for Murray alone. Thank you for putting this together!
Yes me too! That one was very close
Beautiful memories!
Yes they are!
Shows how well made Grim Fandango was that despite the terribly clunky controls it’s always so highly regarded
What a Story, what a setting!
Good list
Shame MI2 wasn’t top though!
Yes when I was getting the edit together I watched loads of Grim Fandango as I got sucked into it again 😆
Interesting that zak mckracken came in that low, I personally enjoyed it because back when this game was like half to 25% of the lucasarts adventure game library, it was worth playing. But compared to what came after, yeah its no fate of atlantis or day of the tentacle.
Yes I get that. Played it a lot in early 90s but by the time Full Throttle was out I hardly touched it
The secret of monkey island, grim fandango and the fate of atlantis for me Michael 😀
Nice! I think at some point I’m going to make my own top 14 video. And Escape wouldn’t be bottom!
Thanks!
Thanks for all your support Mike! You rock
A great video. Nice work
Thanks! Took me a while this one
Growing up in Canada in the early-mid 90's maniac mansion was always on TV! Such a strange show.
Wow that’s great. I’ve only ever seen clips on RUclips
That was fun. And very interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Full throttle part of my top games of all time
My favourite game is Labyrinth.
Escape last? I’m not having it! 😂
Ah, I would expect Loom to be higher, but the people have spoken...
Very surprised that The Dig is so low down the list. (and Loom, too, to be honest)
Can include the list with timeline?
The Dig should be number 2 just behind Curse of Monkey Island. It's amazing. Then loom should be 4th
The Dig was absolutely fantastic!
If you haven’t, you really need to watch that cannot be tamed video of The Dig
@@YakWaxLips That was an awesome rec - I watched it and found out a lot of stuff I previously didn't know about the game - Thank you!
Excuse me Maniac Mansion ranks where????
I thought it’d be higher too
Some controversial choices here! But I can't really argue with the top choice.
Yeah thought Curse would be higher, and Maniac Mansion too
@@YakWaxLips Curse is a weird one since it wasn't made by Ron Gilbert and graphically is so different, and arguably is more "comedy" than the other two. But remembering how many disliked it when it came out I've been astonished how beloved it is. Seems most who played Curse first prefer it.
Curse of Monkey Island is by far the best in the series.
@@Enchurito Not for me, but I like it too.
Loooom!!! 🏆
Where is loom?
What?! I was sure The Curse of Monkey Island would be higher! And I'd have put money on Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis being in the top three!! 😮
I was surprised by the results too. Except Escape from monkey island. 🙈
Great video, also looks like the community made a good chooses
Thank you, and I agree.
@@YakWaxLips You're welcome!!
No timestamps???? -1
Other than the dig being better than loom and full throttle, I can't argue
The Dig is my favorite point n' click game of all time!
Love everything about it.
The middle ground to me was a bit jumbled, I would have put Full Throttle and definitely The Dig higher
Top 3 is
Day of the Tentacle
Curse of Monkey Island
Full Throttle
For me I loved all these games some of the earliest I played although I've played them all now. Fate of Atlantis I hated because some of the puzzles were just too obscure 😂 especially that feckin hot air balloon
I think every LucasArts game at some point had a stupidly obtuse puzzle! Monkey Wrench being the obvious one.
