Amazing version! After hearing of his passing, I feel even more fortunate to have heard him in concert. It was a long time ago, and his program was mostly Villa-Lobos. He also played 'Round Midnight and tuned the low E string to an Eb. Anyway, it just goes to show that you have to get out and see the masters play while you can. R.I.P.

I've learnt the new today... Roland Dyens was one of the guys who make me love guitar. I saw him in concert once. His style, his music, his charism were unique...
He has a great feeling of guitar. I was amazed by his performance of this piece of Django Reinhardt music. Cause even Django played music that he wrote with band and this man Roland Dyens did this by himself. Great arrengement.

It shouldn't be jerked to and fro like a fitful child. The harmonic notes are crap that is thrown on the side, like an afterthought or spasmodic interruption. What is Roland's obsession with harmonics which he puts into every song? He's also the twitchiest player ever like he snaps his head as if he has a tic.
