Arjun's Gandiva , which was created by Lord Brahma ji and used by Indra and later given to Varun.Arjun received it from Lord Varun. Karna's Vijaya Dhanush, which was Lord Shiva's bow and he gave it to Parshuraam and later Parshuraam gave it to Karna.

First of all, gandiv was made by lord vishwakarma. And for your kind information Arjun had devastating weapons like Pashupatastra, Brahmastra etc. which can destroy the universe and a vast piece of planet Earth respectively. During Mahavarata war Arjun launched a lots of deadly weapons except Pashupat Astra from gandiv, now a bow made of Gandi tree or wood couldn't launch weapon like Brahmastra. Actually bows like gandiv, pinaka(lord Shiv's bow) etc were a kind of advanced multifunctional launcher to release those deadly weapons by the help of string(i.e.trigger) and invocation of a particular mantra(i.e. password). A wooden bow couldn't bear the that kind of strength to release Brahmastra.
Now god Varun didn't give the gandiv to Arjuna, it was god Agni who blessed Arjuna by giving the gandiva, akshay tarkash and the magical chariot during the war against the snake dynasty namely Takshak, the king of snakes of Khandavprastha, where Pandavas were destined to make a new palace for them.

If we take the boons into account then Karna has both his Kavach and Vijay Dhanush both of which make him Undefeatable in Battle.
The Thing is Aside from Ekalavya, Arjun was the most skilled Archer and Warrior, Karna was the strongest Archer and Warrior.
Barbarik isn't anywhere near both of them as his power comes from his gifted Arrows.

That sentence is wrong, and yes there was no Barbareek in Vyasa's Mahabharat, but there indeed was Barbareek in many other iterations of the story.
Not to mention that Barbareek is a real diety who has many worshippings across India
@@omegadeadpool4987 actually Barbarik is later interpolation. Barbarik is not a diety. The diety is Khattu shyam to whom the folklore of barbarik was told. Funny thing is the diety is still called Khattu shyam ji because his head was found in Khattu. Babarik is a later interpolation. Not part of the actual Mahabharata. He is nowhere mentioned in Mahabharta. Barbarik is basically a ripoff version of Arjuna.

Chacha… Gandhiv was given to Agni dev by Varun dev … which finally came to Arjun during Khandav van incident… not during Kurukshetra.
Gandiv was most likely a shoulder mounted mini missile launcher like a bazooka but with 108 pods to launch 108 missiles at the same time. naturally it was heavy - requiring special harness etc.
It must have made a very loud noise when firing (hence the 'tankaar' reference) also the firing mechanism naturally must have emitted very bright light when firing (hence the 'chaundhiyana' reference) - it probably had advanced tracking and 'friend/foe' identifying onboard AI as well - probably atomic, crystal or solar powered as were almost all weapons of the time. we are not the only ones in this age with such weapons - these guys were equipped with much more advanced weaponry than us but along the same lines. To think that it was a bow made of wood firing 108 arrows at the same time is just naive...also physics will not support such fanciful stories.

Paji Gandiv dhanush Lord Brahma ke kehne por Lord biswakarma ne banaya tha. 4 dhanush banaye Gaye the .. All time best bows .... Sarang(Bow of Lord Vishnu), Jayanta (Another bow of Lord Shiva), Kodanda ( bow of Lord Indra , which he gave to Lord Ram to fight against raavan while Lord Ram's visit to a sage's ashram in his exile) and the 4th one is Gandiva ... These 4 bows were the best. No other bow can compete with Gandiva other than the above 3 bows . Arjun was the best because he fight and defeat the devas and the guardians of khandabprastha to help Lord Agni to burn out the khandabprastha . He defeated all the kings for Rajsuya yagna. He defeated the whole kaurava army including bhisma , drona, karna, kripacharya, aswatthama, and the others, single handed. He fight next to equally with Lord Shiva to get the most disastrous weapon The Pasupatastra. Karna was never able to defeat him even when he has his armor. He had that all the time before the battle of kurukshetra and he was not able to defeat Arjun . Yes he was a great Archer but not better than Arjun. And you will get the proof in Maharshi Vyasdev 's original Sri Mahabharata.
And sir Arjun was the avatar of a sage called ' Nara ' and Sri Krishna was the avatar of a sage called Narayan and both of the sages were part of Lord Vishnu himself. These sages create Urvashi - the most beautiful apsara

Stupid Gandiva bow cannot be lifted by anyone except Arjun and Lord Krishna. It was a very difficult and tremendously heavy bow with many tonnes of weight Lord Shiva Varuna Indra and Brahma were the other four who could wield it. Vijaya bow was a great bow but not as great as Gandiva because of the complexity in using Gandiva. If you do not grip the bow properly and a slight loose grip.Thatcan cause the bow to rebound back and hit the user itself. It could only be lifted slowly and not in haste and it's strings were made of a really hardened substance which was very difficult to cut except by greatest of warriors like Ashwatthama Drona and Karna but Arjuna excelled them all as he was using a tremendously heavy bow which could not destroyed and the use of which required tremendous care and concentration.

Hi there. nice video. The fact of 108 pratyancha of gaandeev dhanush was a rare fact, didn't know about it before. Did Karan used to break one or 107 pratyancha of gaandeev, if 107, was Arjun fast enough to repair 107 pratyancha before Karan could shoot consecutive arrow?
