ASPIRIN TABLETS
It is a class of medication called NSAIDS
Non Steroidal Anti inflammatory Drugs
Non-Selective COX inhibitors Class of drug
Chemically it is acetylsalicylic acid.
It is a medication used to reduce pain, fever, or inflammation
Also work as a blood thinner as it prevent clot formation of blood, Antiplatelet action

ASPIRIN DRUG PROFILE
Chemical name: acetylsalicylic acid
Routes of administration:
By mouth, rectal,
Lysine acetylsalicylate may be given intravenously or intramuscularly
Bioavailability: 80-100%
Protein binding: 80-90%
Formula: C9H8O4
ASPIRIN WORKING AND MECHANISM
Reduce PG synthesis
Functions of Prostaglandins

Enhances Pain Inducing Effects Of Bradykinin
Induces Fever

Inflammation and fever
Aspirin is non selective inhibitor of cox enzymes and supress & reduce prostaglandin synthesis.
Thus provide its
Anti-inflammatory action
Antiplatelet
Analgesic activity
ASPIRIN INDICATION AND USES
Mild to moderate pain ( headache, backache, joint pain, toothache, dysmenorrhoea)
Antipyretic in fevers
Anti inflammatory in acute rheumatic fever, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis
Antiplatelet agent in atherosclerotic diseases, post-operative, myocardial infarction, post stroke patients
ASPIRIN INDICATION AND USES
Aspirin is prescribed in a small dose as a means to lower the risk of heart attack (prevents clotting action of platelets)
It can help prevent a heart attack or clot-related stroke by interfering with how the blood clots.
Thus, Aspirin work as a blood thinner to stop it from clotting
ASPIRIN COMBINATION
The combination of clopidogrel and aspirin may lower the risk for major ischemic events among patients with minor ischemic stroke or high-risk transient ischemic attack compared with aspirin alone
Atorvastatin + Aspirin to lower your risk of heart attack and stroke.
ASPIRIN TABLET DOSES
300-600mg TDS analgesic, antipyretic & anti-inflammatory action As per direction of physician
75-150mg OD myocardial infarction/stroke
Usually therapy starts with lower dose to avoid adverse effects
