IDiBE presentation

The Institute of Research, Development, and Innovation in Health Biotechnology of Elche (IDiBE) is a research center that forms part of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH). It focuses on areas such as studying pathologies like diabetes, cancer, pain, and infectious diseases, both at the cellular level and in animal models. Additionally, we develop projects related to the search for bioactive molecules from natural sources, drug repositioning, advanced materials (such as controlled release or biosensors), and projects involving aquaculture and endocrine disruptors, among others.
IDiBE has a strong translational vocation, working on developing new products and services that can move from the laboratory bench to patient applications. As a result, we have filed over 30 patent applications and established eleven spin-offs. Throughout our history, we have had various international funding sources (such as ERC, MSCA, Horizon Europe, or LIFE) and national ones (including AEI, ISCIII, GVA, and IVACE+I).
