Thank you! I’m a PT helping out with a rehab for a US Olympic thrower. This series has been helpful to give me context on how to effectively progress throughout her treatment the next several months. Any chance a part 4 will come out??

JY: Great Video. I have a few thoughts swirling around in my head an was hoping you might have some insight you could share. In your half turn everything seems to be smoothly accelerating, especially your non throwing arm. So, when your block foot is down, your hips are turned toward the throwing sector. In your fulls, it seems like your off arm tries to pause, rewrap a little in the middle. Hence your power leg gets down about 3:00 and when your block foot gets down at the front your hips are more at 9:00 and not facing the sector. In the cover for the video Dacres power foot is off the ground and doesn’t make contact until about 12:00 sometimes 11:00 I have noticed and his block arm just continues to and may even speed up from 6:00 to 12:00. Stahl seems to do the same. So when their block foot is flat at the front it’s like the have already blocked with the left arm and their hips are facing the sector. I have wondered are the aggressively salarying to throw as soon as their right foot touches down at 12:00 ish. Thoughts or am I like the Jets quarterback and seeing ghosts. Thanks

Justin Stanford some of that stuff I’ll cover in the full throw video when it comes out and I’ve got an episode now I’m working on discussing some things 70m throwers do. But the main thing I’ll say to you is that you can’t accelerate the implement well until you have both feet on the ground so when the block foot gets down you want to still have room for the hips to turn and drive into the finish. And what looks like a rewrap in the middle is just trying keep my upper body back to get my block foot down so that I can rotate into that finish. Anyway good questions but I’ll get there eventually

Wish I seen this like4 month ago ;-; I was gonna do a spin throw but sadly the circle that have been made was sooo tiny than the usual ones, so I had to do the beginner form again tht is not perfect.

I don’t know what it is in other parts of the world but in the U.S. it’s 1kg for middle school, 1.6kg for high school and 2kg for college and beyond
