Alexandra, thank you for your wonderful video. Your interviews of the countless number of people were most insightful. It made your journey come alive. Every person has a purpose for walking; loss of loved ones, painful pasts, the challenge of the journey, looking for answers. God placed each person there for a reason. Thank you for sharing!
I leave for Barcelona tomorrow and start the Camino on Sunday from St Jean. As I've been packing I've had RUclips on in the backgrouns and suddenly found myself multitasking with your video. What a nice way to prepare for my journey. Thanks.
This is the first documentary I could find that does not so much focus on the person doing the camino, but on the persons joining you. The first movie that gives a real feel of what it's like to be there and be part of the camino family. Thank you very much for that, Alexandra. 27 days until I'm back for my next walk, and this vid just boosted my anticipation even higher.
I am watching this while recovering from brain surgery to remove two tumors. I am moved beyond explanation. You have completed a genuine and creative work that is meaningful for everyone.
Bravo, Alexandra, bravo! My wife Becky and I started the Camino in 2016 and finished in Santiago in 2018. Your video captures for us the best part of the Camino: interactions, conversations and friendships with people met along the way. I aspire to go back for a month each September for five years, starting next year and until I turn 80 (Becky does not plan to walk it again). Your video gave me hope that I will be able connect with people as a solo Peregrino as well as we did as a couple. Thanks!
Brilliant video so informative and inspirational. I loved that you involved and asked the question of "why do you walk the Camino" to so many fellow pilgrims it told me a lot. All replies were heartfelt and honest. I did really like the conversation with Ian Kitchen and so sad when you said he died the next day. RIP to a good man. I have turned 65 years of age this year and will attempt my first Camino in September so your video has provided me with food for thought so thank you so much. Buen Camino
Walk the Camino - you are never alone. Great video, having walked the Camino I just become so emotional with the beautiful memories of the people and places. Once you start walking the Camino it never ends - it lasts a life time. You walk surrounded by angels. You talk from your heart with love. The first language of the Camino is silence. Thank you Alexandra... I love your happiness. Eugene
This is a truly special video that absolutely captures the Camino de Santiago journey for so many of us. Thank you so much for this. I completed my Camino about three months ago and I'm still coming to terms with the profound experience it gave me. It's brilliant how you managed to ask the simple questions and allow others to open up about their reasons for doing the Camino. It's a minefield of emotions out there, but that is a big part of the magic of this walk. Everyone that walks the way with you is a treasure in the moment, as you are for them. I felt we were all like stars of light, just like the stars above the route that follows the Milky Way. Each dot of starlight above seemed to be reflected in the light of people's souls below on the Earth.
Someone asked me about Camino resources, and I immediately thought of your amazing documentary and how you captured the essence of the Camino. I did the Portuguese Camino 2 years ago and just watching this again has given me Camino fever. Might be just what I need to do to mark my 65th next year. Buen Camino
Alexandra: Just went back and watched this video again. You did a good job. It brought back memories from my own Camino Francis. I hope your life post Camino has been fun and rewarding. Peace.
Alexandra you keep rocking! Your Personal and Production values of your Camino video are inspirational and exceptional. Your execution and and finish are honoring to your lessons and inspirational. Thanks for your leadership!
Thanks for all the kind words. I wasnt planning on making this, but the people and stories were so magical and compelling.... @elle yes, walk. Do it. I almost talked myself out of it, too. In fact, most of the people I conferred with, all had cold feet but really, its the pilgrimage of a lifetime. There is a ton of support, you always go at your pace, and amazing people and camino magic along the way. Yes! Its your time to walk now.
AlexandraThank you. This encouraged me to go back to the beginning and put my feet up whilst nibbling-away at a thick slice of buttered ginger bread while sipping me tea.My flatulence acted as a wayward, maverick soundtrack competing with your soundtrack.Hmm.Tis ben an interesting evening.
Wow... I have watched many videos in preparing to do the Camino this year, but this one...this truly tops them all. Thank you. Truly! I cried and laughed with each and every one present. I love it!
Hi Alexandra from across the Bay. I watched your short video and was so happy I had hoped to find you made a video of your entire Camino and voila, I find exactly that. This full length video was heartwarming and appreciate so much your listening to all the people you met up with. While the beauty of the place, the history and spirit was never lost, your focus on the people you gathered into a fluid tribe along the Way was inspiring on its own. I so enjoyed this video and si Dios quezer, will be on my own Camino next year.
This was a great watch. Very interesting seeing other walkers comments and showed you more of what this walk is like. Makes me want to go even more apart from the sore feet xx
I enjoyed every minute of this. The last time I walked in 2007, I carried a videocam and asked the same questions of people: 'why do you walk?' and this year, in September, I will walk again. Thank you for sharing your time, perspective and love of the Camino.
The Camino is truly "Magic". Once you have completed it, your life absolutely changes for the better forever. If you are in doubt about taking on this challenge, just get up and do it ! I promise you will not be disappointed.
Thank you Alexandra for this inspiring work you are sharing with all of us... it made me go back to the Camino and to refresh and remember why I find it one of the most life changing experiences I had in my life. Stay Well and Buen Camino ;-) xx
Thank you for this great video! This expresses my feelings and experiences I made on my camino in 2014 in the best way. Your final words are for me full of wisdom, when one should express the sum of 900km walking on this special way. Thank you! Big talent making movies!
Very good movie. I loved every minute of it. It reminded my so much to my recent trip on the camino and the similar experiences I had there. I can only say : Thank you!
Thank you for this. I walked this a few years ago and will recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone, whether they are carrying a particular burden or not. It is truly a journey of the mind.
Thank you so much for putting together this wonderful video and sharing with us Alexandra. I am going to camino in 3 weeks and can't wait to meet people there. I will remember to ask people a lot of questions and try to learn a lot like you did. Thank you!
Alexandra, thank you for this joyous, honest, funny, liberating, and poignant video. I absolutely loved it! I'll be walking only a portion of it this July, but, hey, some is better than none! Buen Camino! You are such a beautiful person!
Alexandra, U Rock! This is just one of the best videos from the Camino! I've watched about 100 now (Yes, I'm getting ready to walk, lol), but this is just so true, so simple, so meaningful, so everything! Very well edited. U deserve an Oscar! Best documentary! Parabéns menina!! e Obrigado!
Thank you so much for this brilliant informative video as to why you and so many others walk the Camino I am inspired and as I have just turned 65 years of age and need to do something different in my life I think you have just convinced me that the Camino is what I should attempt. . Bless you x
(It's on this page) Yogi productions ' The Camino de Santiago: a pilgrims journey is the second best/entertaining video of walking the Camino. This - however - is the best; it captures howm it feels to reluctantly finish a journey and reluctantly say goodbye (probably for ever) of friends made while walking the Way.It is also fun and funny. So thank you for something rather precious,Alexandra.
Alexandra, You did an extraordinary video about your experience on the CdeStgo. It was deep, funny, complete, unpretentious, tender, filosophical, humble, humane, endearing, sensitive & sensible. In spite of not being religious, your spiritual part of you did a great job capturing the best of all the people --from all walks of life--you came across to bring out their wisdom and insightfulness. Admirable work. Congratulations, Orlando
Hi Alexandra, I loved your video! My flatmate and I are thinking of doing the Camino next year and this has motivated me all the more! What incredible people you met along the way, and amazing lessons of life. Thanks so much for sharing.
Great video....watched it twice and noticed different things each time. Your talent came through wonderfully. My first walk will be in Sept. 2016....and looking forward to it. Thanks and Buen Camino in your life.
Really liked your video. It was well done and you met some great people along the way. I did myCamino is Sept/Oct of 2015 and really enjoyed it. Thanks for a very nice reflection of the Camino.
What a great video!! I've watched it 3 times. My son and I leave on 9/9/2017 for our Camino experience. You've given me a real feel for the experience. Thank you Alexandra!!
Alexandra, I love your video. We did (my wife, our daughter, and I) the last part of the Camino (Sarria to Santiago) in 2015 and we loved it. I am looking forward to go all the way. Gracias for sharing such beautiful video.
Hi Alexandra, just wanted to let you know how much I loved your video, my name is Manny and I visited Santiago de compostella in July this year for the first time, me my wife Christine and family live in Scotland, we had a different sort of pilgrimage and we met my sisters and family for the 1st time , my father left Galicia in 1965 , I was born 1971 , he died in 1983 so we never had any contact until social media kicked in , since researching and watching lots on RUclips I have enjoyed your video the most ,the scenery, music , and people in the video is great, I may not ever do the Camino due to time commitments but for sure I will return to Santiago de compostella , you have an amazing talent and keep up the great work, thanks again Manny and Christine.
I found your video while researching some info on walking the Camino de Santiago. This video is informative ,applicable and helpful in understanding or comprehending my personal questions on the Camino. This is something I would like to experience and right now ,the 100 Km walk seems attractive as a starting point. Thank you Alexandra for your video presentation
I love this video , Alexandra Liss you are the best TKS 4 share your wonderfull days at the Camino , I'm going on this summer hope have a lot of fun like you !!!
An enjoyable documentary for some of the music making up the background soundtrack.Touching for one interviewee that proved to be the classic, one day you're here the next day you're not. Well done Alexandra Liss for using the Camino scenery as a backdrop for the conversations and reasons for doing the camino. Personally I did my Camino as way of seeing what the author of a book "Spanish Steps, Travels with my Donkey" was writing about. I have a feeling that although it is nearly four years since my first Camino, it is calling me back.........
Hi Alessandra! I just stumbled on your video. I found your presentation very real, as the sceneries and conversations were quite typical; refreshingly profound, personal and topics that are/were mainly not materialistic (as is in our "normal" reality). I did the Camino Frances solo last year [Sept-Oct 2016] which is in one word: incomparable. I liked and loved the experience that I will do another solo, this second one via Camino del Norte come summertime. I thank you for your video which makes the experiences very alive; makes memories of this kind of unique life-journeys to always relish and forever treasure for our lifetime Take care..
awe, thank you, Bert... I appreciate you saying that. I wasn't planning on shooting so much, but im so glad I did! Id love to hear how Camino del Norte is for you this summer! Buen Camino!
I'm planning on walking the Camino Frances this year in Sept-Oct. What can I expect the weather to be like? Is it mostly warm or should I also expect rain and cold? What is your experience of this?
Hi Alexandra, love the video. Must admit that my day over Cruz de Ferro was excellent, but followed on from a day where I felt broken and didn't even think I would feel strong. You capture the emotions along with the mental challneges very well.
Good video. I've walked the Camino three times, and it never gets old for me. Each one was a spiritual adventure in of itself. Each one was different as were the fellow pilgrims I met along the Way. Anyone who watched the video that now wants to walk it, I say yes. Be daring and make that jump. When you finish you wonder why you were ever hesitant in the first place.
We were walking at about the same time in 2015. I recognize a couple of those pilgrims in that video. Had dinner with them a couple of nights. Small world.
Because of my disability my body is older than me.I was worried(still am) about slowing people down;spoiling their walk by accidentally getting in their way.The old couple have shown me the way.Just to do it;and do it at my own pace......it isn't a race. Some do the Camino in less than a month. It may take me two.No matter. As long as try it;do it; finish it;that is all that matters.
Great job :-) my first Camino was in 2014.... all is true..... Now preparing for second. Norte or Via de La Plata. Sometime u have so so nice walk.... Once 45 km. to be tired... to see boundaries of possibility and kind people
Is it weird that I spent most of this video mentally raging at all the improperly adjusted backpacks... This is a really cool way to experience the Camino, thank you for sharing!
No such thing as an improperly adjusted backpack. Bet yoy put your pack on a taxi! One of the Camino-lites? you soon adjust to thev pack--think military worriesc about adjusting EVERYONEs pack? Ha!
lovely lovely lovely highly recommended video for those who are going to do the camino and even to those who did the camino to reflect an dot inspire to look inside the experience. muahhhhhhhhh to you alex. i hope that the walk did give you the answers. i hope we can do camino together one day.
Hey Alexandra! What a great video you have made! I made cry with joy and anticipation of my own camino, that will start next friday (sept 16, 2016). And, since I'm Brazillian, I just loved your brazilian way! Beleza! Águas de Março is such a beautifull anthem. Buen Camino!
Your way was beautiful, my congratulations for sharing your experience, I did it twice and I want to repeat it again, but this time I want to do El Camino Primitivo. Greetings from El Hatillo, Caracas, Venezuela.
This is so inspiring! I love hearing their stories and motivation for walking the Camino. It's really giving me a boost to do this, but I have to be patient. I'll be going in April/May 2018 :)
Your video is outstanding. Your transformation was very awesome to witness as you advanced throughout your journey. I myself will walking next month for the first time. It's something I have felt I must do internally for some time. I stopped watching around 59 minutes, as I felt the ending could possibly interfere with my own. I will finish when I get back. Take care and thank you.
Thank you for sharing your Camino experience ! I have an answer for the guy that said get a bike, why would you walk not bike: I hate to fix flats on the bike!
Oh man, the Ian moment really got me. Thank you so much for making this video. Buen Camino
Still one of my favourite Camino videos, made all the more special as an 'online' friend appears in it shortly before he died.
I leave for Barcelona tomorrow and start the Camino on Sunday from St Jean. As I've been packing I've had RUclips on in the backgrouns and suddenly found myself multitasking with your video. What a nice way to prepare for my journey. Thanks.

Woelflein that's so sweet... yes, I agree it's about the people along the way
I am watching this while recovering from brain surgery to remove two tumors. I am moved beyond explanation. You have completed a genuine and creative work that is meaningful for everyone.
Wow, thank you. Sending healing vibes your way.
Thanks Alexandra for sharing this video. It is one of the best i've seen so far. It reminds me of all the wonderful people you meet along the way.

Your final five minutes of Camino dancing was a hell of a ride! Really great choregraphy and editing! Thanks. Going to my Camino in 3 days. Whoo hoo!

Alexandra,
You did an extraordinary video about your experience on the CdeStgo.
Congratulations,
Orlando

Totally loved this video. Thank you.
Great film...thank you! 🙏🏼
All I can say is thank you Alexandra.
Amazing persons, amazing strong stories, amazing video. Thank you!
Beautifully done. I walked the Camino this year and great to see someone else's take on the experience.
Fantastic video, it's the first time I have understood why people walk....the reasons are as varied as there are people. . . . .
This is a really cool way to experience the Camino, thank you for sharing!
haha :)
No such thing as an improperly adjusted backpack. Bet yoy put your pack on a taxi! One of the Camino-lites? you soon adjust to thev pack--think military worriesc about adjusting EVERYONEs pack? Ha!

AWE, thank you, Andre
Your way was beautiful, my congratulations for sharing your experience, I did it twice and I want to repeat it again, but this time I want to do El Camino Primitivo. Greetings from El Hatillo, Caracas, Venezuela.

jejejeje muy bonito el vídeo que has hecho,el final me encantó se ve que eres muy divertida.
Great video! Thank you.
That was great fun to watch. Thank you :-)
If The Camino could talk...too many interesting stories...
What a fantastic movie thankyou so much! : ))
Great video, Great adventute, awesome end. Thanks for this.
The sleeping with loud snorers would be the most challenging part for me! earplugs only block out so much! LOL! What an adventure!
Jan Mendoza Makes me glad I did it in February! I got dorms to myself twice out of 5 nights and then a third night I was in a private albergue.
tent.camp.thus no race to get to an alburgue every single day.
❤❤❤❤❤ so glad I found your Channel..
Thank you for sharing your Camino experience ! I have an answer for the guy that said get a bike, why would you walk not bike: I hate to fix flats on the bike!
Very nice video! I walked the camino in April, was a great experience :)
Wow that was awesome. The end getting me gooseskin. The Song at verschicken end make me laugh .
