The narrator, the gentle doing the torquing, i just live these videos thanks @HaynesManual!!! Please make more videos for the 00-04 nissan xterra! 🎉🎉🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
Great video! just saved me $600 at the shop. Ive done oil, brakes and an alternator. Was sure this was within my realm but bam! Without this video I don't think I would have succeeded.
Here's a tip to save your skin: The metal around that opening to the fuel tank is rather sharp-edged. Depending on how big your arms are, you may very well tear up the skin on your forearms when reaching down inside the tank and maneuvering the pump assembly during removal and install. Gasoline making contact with open wounds is....uncomfortable. To avoid this just take some blue masking tape and run it all around the perimeter of the opening so that it covers that sharp edge.
This video is not accurate for Frontiers. They need to remove Frontier from the description. It is not under the seat. You need to remove the gas tank. I learned the hard way...
Been using this vid back and forth for my nissan xterra. Unfortunately my car sat for a long time and all the plastic hoses and clips snapped but everythings is replaced and ready to re install. Thanks
Hello! Very nice video! I replaced the fuel pump on my 2000 Nissan Frontier, but I noticed that the return fuel line that is attached to the fuel pump plastic housing does not have that little plug at the end. Why is that and do I need that little plug? Thank you!
Someone told me that for the expensive model of the 1997 Pathfinder the pump is different than in the other models saying that it is an electronic pump, so I can't just change the pump like here?
I put a new fuel pump in but it wont work installed in the tank! if i put the fuel pump in a container of gas and hook the pump to a 12 volt power source it pumps like crazy and recurculates the fuel in the container but when i plug it into the sending unit and plug it back to the truck harness and turn on the key the motor spins but when i put the pump back in the truck and turn on the key i get nothing from the fuel pump outlet, i hooked a piece of cleat tubing up and see no fuel when i turn the key on, i just dont get it at all! i have worn my forearm out from taking this pump in and out! any ideas?
Have you checked the connection for power? Sending unit and harness? Did you check/test the fuel pump relay? It is separate (not in the fuse boxes), located under dash driver side up around the steering wheel.
I was hoping this video would show how to remove the Hose end connector underneath the sending unit. The one in the middle I can remove. The connector closest to the outside is a pain. Just about every video on RUclips on this subject skips over this procedure.
Does anybody know where the inertia switch is on a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder? I’ve changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pump relay, and the truck still cranks but doesn’t start...

Love how you skipped showing the removal of the one fuel line I an having trouble with. Good job Haynes.

Brilliant idea
5:38 RIP to that clip tab that went flying and fell into the tank.

This video is spot on!
I have a 2004 frontier sc and to access the fuel pump you must remove the bed. I wish it was under the seat 😢

Thank you for this info!!!!
Nothing under the seat in my 2000 Frontier 4x4!
Its underneath the bed
I hear yeah. With the 1999 you have to drop the tank

Thats fine but you dont show how you pulled the return hose off at 4:20 which is a differnt type of clip
Thank you
Hard to find fts for 2000 xterra any ideas.
Does the sock need to be replaced or can it be reused?
GOOD
this has nothing to do with 1998 frontiers i can tell you thst
You forgot to put the gass cap back on
Good bargain
And prizes.
Hello does the 03 pathfinder have that easy access to the fuel pump
My 99 is right in the back seat

The wires were reversed in the new wiring harness that came with the new pump
This doesn’t help me. I have a full bench seat in the back. Can’t pull it up like that.

just leave it attached and take it off down on the side of the plastic fuel pump housing where that little one way rubber check valve is
This is the same issue I was having. The hook tool was a fantastic tip though to remove the whole assembly
why do you only show how to take off the fuel line but not the return line? cant get the fucker off.

Did you ever figure it out.
I'm dealing with same thing did you get it figured out
Me too.
Sean Malloy I found out a local mechanic didn’t put the fuel pump in the all the way once I took it to a real shop🤦🏾♂️
@@9Master_Mind3 sounds like your luck might be as bad as mine 😂
