Fishermen's Life brought me here.
And while you are here hit the sub button.
Same
Yeah me too as well as Taku.
Taking and Fisherman’s Life brought me here. It’s been great!
Dope dope dope video!! I love this man, amazing stuff down there. Always learning from you, that's for sure!
Thanks bro! Can't wait to check out that dorado vid you just posted!
I was also going to suggest you both mash-up sometime!
This guy taku doesn't respond to a lot of my comments.. maybe he's specially challenged
2 great, humble, cool guys.
I've found so many people from fisherman's life. This is awesome!
Was great seeing both ya all !😊
So, I just came over from fisherman’s life. Great video with lots of information. Born in Cali and raised in the PNW (now in Texas) and always found those shells on the beach with the holes in them. I never knew what animal they came from. Limpid. I wish my dad and grandpa were still here to let them know... I like your video. I broke my ankle in three places and dislocated it at the same time going fishing. Been sitting on the couch now for 5 weeks straight since surgery. I’m now a new subscriber. You brought back some old memories and I appreciate that. Take care, God bless. Jen
Jen,
Glad you enjoyed the vid, and thanks for coming to check out our content! Take it from me, you will be back on your feet in no time! BTW it is spelled "Limpet" rather than "limpid" just fyi. Hope you get back out fishing soon! Cheers!
Found you from Fisherman’s life! Great stuff ❤
great trip, loved Matts' look with little crab. like his sand flea vid

subscribed after watching you on fisherman’s life, you’re so great i learned a lot from you watching from philippines ✌️✌️🙌 hope i can experience that too
Thanks Miki!
I subscribed to your channel a couple weeks ago. This is by far my favorite video of yours, so far. Again, your sustainability stance fills the heart (I'm no hippy, just respect for bigger things than myself). At 9:00..... SO RAD!!!
Thanks bud! I appreciate the support!
Been a sub for a while and still amazed at your knowledge base on sea life. Of course, Fisherman’s Life is the man!
Awesome video- amazing diversity of sea life!
Man I wish I could do that one day, but first I’ll need to go to California.
Wow, I love this channel. So educational.
Nice combination for both of you..good video too
Oh Marty you know the scallops give you gas
Rad seeing how much you can eat down there!
I was wondering about that onion intro... WHOOPS 😝
What an absolute feast 😋 informative and highly entertaining channel - greetings from Devon UK 🍻🧜♂️

That sandwich though 🤤🤤🤤
Awesome stuff guys you deserve the boost! Thats the electric stingray that shocked me in HMB 😳
I was wondering! Glad I didn't go try to pet it!
@@catchncookcalifornia1574 😂
NIce vid Kevin! Loved all the info you gave too
Thanks Daniel!
Great channel, the limpets in California are a heck of a lot bigger then the ones on the UK videos.
Most of our CA limpets are around the same size as those in UK, but yeah, the Megathura are absolutely huge! Thanks for watching!
Been waiting on your version
i love how nice and whole some you are dude great content and knowledge u spread !
Thanks!
Great collab with Matt (his video led me to your channel Kevin). Keep up the good work and keep sharing your wisdom. Subscribed :D
Welcome! And thanks for the support!
I enjoy your videos:) I wish to try coastal foraging one day.
Thank you! I hope you do sooner rather than later. It is very rewarding and so much fun!
I'm addicted to hot sauce, spicy food, my favourite is sriracha.
OMG great vid Mr. I just started following you and oh boy if I was missing out on your content. Thanks for sharin. Like and subscribe already done 👍
@7:51 I caught one of these in HMB recently. Super weird - didn't fight at all, didn't see a bite, had coarse skin like a shark, sharp spines on the back. Apparently a Thornback Guitarfish
You should make deep dish seafood and like greens you find and build a primitive pizza oven on the beach !!!
Lol, been thinking about that for years now! Guess now I have to!
@@catchncookcalifornia1574 that would be awesome to watch lol next video 😂 maybe get taku to help with it aswell another sweet collab !!!’
You should have so many more subscribers
Aloha from A Fisherman's Life.
Excellent video brother 💕💕👍
You and Matts were the only 2 people I asked for recommendation for fishing and foraging a few months back when we went to Nor Cal (sent you the pic when we caught our 2 crabs, snails, and seaweed). Thanks again!
Where in SoCal were you guys?
Wish I knew you were down here. Would've totally met up with you guys!
We were at an ultra-secret spot down south. Glad your foraging went well up north!
Just for all the other fans watching, these 2 collaborators are the coolest!
yo shoutout to onions
I've cleaned hundreds of gastropods in my life. Roasting, boiling or steaming one while allow you to pull out the meat with a pin. Just uncoil it as you pull the meat around the shell. They are NOT attched to their shell. It is the coil into the shell that holds it on.
In a Mexican dish cilantro red chili pepper onion and garlic should be a staple
Nice video kev!
Thanks man!
discovered your channel today, been binging lots of your content. new to the sport so a lot of this stuff is invaluable.
whats up with that weird rock to the left of the horn shark @3:27 ??
Glad you found us! That rock was actually covered with a type of coral.
@@catchncookcalifornia1574 never seen coral like that before, did a double take, I was like "What in good heavens is that creature, and why is he not more startled". I'm a bit further north, on vancouver island! do you know the name of the species, wouldn't mind checking the handy encyclopedia if there's any kicking around here.
I was holding my breath during each scene. I have some training to do in the pool at super sport lol.
Lol, I have been wanting to put a full (uncut) breath hold clip in one of these vids but was worried the audience might get bored. Maybe I should? Thanks for watching!
Yes!!
I'd watch that Video years back going for Abalone.
You should. It is on FishermansLife's channel.
@@catchncookcalifornia1574 watch his channel also, these people doesn't respond..
I wonder if they were in Santa Barbara
Intro looks like some discovery channel show woww
California Poppy is the state flower, and they're orange, can't pick them.
I luv fishermen life, but your video was better than his. Keep it coming!!!!
Lol, thanks for the support! I learned a lot from him that day about filming on land, and I think he learned a lot about diving the SoCal reef. So it was a great time!
What do you use those limpet shells for, if i may ask? (i got here via Outdoor Chef Life btw :) )
The local Gabrielino and Chumash tribes have used them for thousands of years as ornaments after grinding down the edges and carving designs into them. I am saving a few to do this with for some of my southern CA Native American friends. Thanks for watching!
@@catchncookcalifornia1574 i would LOVE to see that artwork!!!
Always noticed you removing your snorkel and wondered why. So why. I can't wait tell me now. Better question how do you get your mask to seal.
Thanks.
An esential freedive-spearfishing strategy... sorry Frodo, it's coming in a video soon!
You must be very close to L.A.
One thing you forgot to add was red chili peppers
Great video! Food looks delicious. Hot sauce you guys need to try these as they are very good volcanicpeppers.com from mild to hot and their BBQ sauce is the bomb. Made in Nebraska and I am definitely a fan!
Is it true that you live up here in Sonoma County I'm up here in Sonoma County I was just curious
We call them crayfish and lobsters cause the claws
Kev you should take out Matt and Taku hunting.
Thanks for watching, I will throw that idea out there some time!
Dude it was sponsored by Onion! WTH? 😂🤣
More butter, much better😂
Don't worry, I've got ideas of how to make that happen next time!
Did the man in the gray suit show up???
Thank goodness no!
Where did you film this?
Secret spots my friend ;) If I were to say, then a hundred people would be there tomorrow. Since that spot has fed me over a hundred times over the years, I choose to keep it quiet so its abundance will be preserved for sustainable harvesters for generations.
Fisherman's life brought me here and wow great find! The editing is such a shame though. The sea diving part was perfect then the other bits with bad audio was just such a shame. Still subscribed though. Looking forward to more videos
Tough getting good audio on a graduate student budget ... especially after our wireless microphones were stolen. We're working on it though. Thanks for watching!
Before they were protected did anybody eat Garibaldi‘s?
There were Native American table fare for sure. Also, they are not protected in Mexico where they are eaten.
Yo just saying I live in Petaluma if you ever wana fish lmk
You are missing avocado from the Mexican cocktail.
They were in there, but I only found one ripe one so it was 50% on the sandwich and 50% in the cocktail. It definitely could have used more and with the onion would have helped balance the overall dish for sure!
@@catchncookcalifornia1574, oh, ok, thanks.
Thinking about butter makes me... 14:40
Where was this location?
Secret. Thanks for watching!
Keeper
How can you take the snorkel off under water and take breath doesn’t make sense
Take the breath, hold breath, take snorkel out
Anonymous is actually you
