- In this video, I speak about my collection of Alice Bailey books. Most of these books I came across today in a charity bookshop! What an amazing find.
These books are profound on the metaphysical level, anyone who has read anything by Bailey will attest to this. In the video, I share her prayer 'The Great Invocation'. If you want to know more about any of these books, be sure to let me know in the comments!
Alice Ann Bailey (June 16, 1880 - December 15, 1949) was a writer of more than twenty-four books on theosophical subjects, and was one of the first writers to use the term New Age. Bailey was born as Alice La Trobe-Bateman, in Manchester, England. She moved to the United States in 1907, where she spent most of her life as a writer and teacher.
Bailey's works, written between 1919 and 1949, describe a wide-ranging neo-Theosophical system of esoteric thought covering such topics as how spirituality relates to the Solar System, meditation, healing, spiritual psychology, the destiny of nations, and prescriptions for society in general. She described the majority of her work as having been telepathically dictated to her by a Master of Wisdom, initially referred to only as "the Tibetan" or by the initials "D.K.", later identified as Djwal Khul. Her writings bore some similarity to those of Madame Blavatsky and are among the teachings often referred to as the "Ageless Wisdom". Though Bailey's writings differ in some respects to the Theosophy of Madame Blavatsky, they have much in common with it.

I have recently purchased that book having found that she had written it. I’m very fond of the yoga sutras and found it very valuable. 🙏
19 of the books were dictated to Alice Bailey. Light of the Soul is the one where her Master DK gave her the Sanskrit to English translation and she wrote the commentary. There are four other books that she published under her name that she wrote herself. The books she wrote herself are

She also wrote her autobiography, obviously.

Yes its a bit strange the publishers don't make it clear that 19 of the books were literally dictated to AAB by the Master Djwhal Khul (known as The Tibetan) (who was not her Master by a fellow disciple in the Ashram of the Master Koot Humi) and that Light of the Soul was a joint effort (with DK providing the sanskrit to to English translation and AAB providing the English commentary) and 4 of the books were written by her alone. They also don't give a timeline of when the books were transmitted, because they were transmitted over a long period of years and then published much later in many cases. Some of the books were published many years after her death so she didn't even see the completed versions of the books. This means that those later books weren't even edited by her which raises some questions. @@aang7295

@@coeur2114 ‘Lucis Trust’ is the website. Some books such as ‘Problems Of Humanity’ have been massively censored, others have only undergone minimal changes. Unfortunately, the Lucis Trust does not consider it necessary to preserve the books in their original form and make them available to the world. Perhaps one day they will if there is enough public pressure.
As if it would be a problem to make exact copies of the originals available in PDF form.
Alice Baileys books go really deep. Most people don't connect with them. I have about 9 of which Half I bought new at The Quest Book Shop in Wheaton, Illinois which is on the Theosophical Society of America property. The other half were used from there and used book shops. Esoteric books are hard to find now new or used. I think religious people buy and destroy them - hopefully not.😊

I just got through finishing Esoteric Psychology Volume 1. I’m currently reading Esoteric Psychology Volume 2. What a beautiful and enlightening read it has been.
I imagine that’s a wild ride you have just been on. Would you share with us your biggest takeaways from volume 1, if you can? 🙏
A heck of a ride indeed. My biggest takeaways from Volume 1 have been how our attachments to the mundane can hinder us from higher spiritual growth. Balance is emphasized when it comes to living a spiritual life while having this physical experience. It also mentions the importance of thinking less as an individual and thinking more as part of a greater collective humanity. Loving and serving others for the greater good is also mentioned. Lastly, how our actions, deeds, and thoughts whether good or bad affect the consciousness of humanity and the planet itself. There’s just so much to cover in just one book. I’m just skimming the surface. I’m looking forward to diving deep into her other books as well.

I'm excited to see this video. The only book I have read is Glamour and I would like to see a video on it. I find that sometimes chapters make complete sense to me and then other chapters I feel that I don't quite understand.

The books are all connected, they are structured exactly and if you study them in the exact order, everything makes sense, because the basics are clarified in the previous books to avoid misunderstandings later on. The first 7 books in particular make sense to read first.

In the invocation, it said, "May Christ return to earth." Well, he is returning, and it won't be good if people are on the wrong side. Theosophists say that there's no religion higher than truth. This is true. But what is truth? Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)
Jesus Christ is the Truth. We can only receive God's promise of eternal life and avoid the fate of eternal hell through Christ. Nothing in this dying world is more important than this truth.
The end of time is coming quickly, and here's the way to be saved: Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior, turn from wrongdoing, and receive the crown of eternal joy from God our savior. Don't die unsaved in Christ. Nothing in this life is worth an eternity. Feel free to ask anything, and I hope you read the Bible too.
We can't be sure what Jesus said because he didn't write anything and those that wrote about him did it decades afterwards from memory and we know memory isn't reliable, that's why the Alice Bailey teachings were given, to correct alot of the fixed fundamentalist beliefs of Christians and other faiths. In the Ageless Wisdom, people have many hundreds of incarnations/lives so there isn't any need to rush. No one is going to hell or going to heaven for eternity either. We need different environments to learn from so some perfect heaven would get boring fairly quickly. We have to save ourselves and that means developing our consciousness. No one is going to save us. When the Christ returns he'll show us the way but won't be saving us. We have to do the work ourselves.
@@zrymill You're right. Human memory isn't reliable. But the men who wrote the Scriptures were led by the Spirit of God:
For no prophecy was ever brought forth by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:21)
This is how we know that the Bible, and only the Bible, is one hundred percent accurate. The Bible is a supernatural book given to us by the infinite God who created the universe and us. It tells us the beginning and end of the human race, and on into eternity. But heaven and hell are real, and when we die, we're either going to get the best thing imaginable or the worst thing imaginable. Jesus Christ says that hell is "where the worm never dies." This 'worm' is our conscious eating at us forever, possibly saying, "Why didn't I listen?" or "Why didn't I change?" But it's simple to avoid the fate of hell. No other god, not buddha, shiva, Allah, or anything or anyone else is called a savior. Only Jesus Christ is called the savior, and this too is from the Holy Spirit. God won't allow anyone else to be called a savior. It's only Christ who saved us from our sins. He suffered and died on the cross for this very reason. This is the only way to avoid eternal separation from God. But this life is all we get, and it's our only chance to get it right. I hope you pray to God and accept Jesus Christ into your heart and receive God's promise of eternal life. Do it in secret if you have to. If not, when the end comes, at least remember these words from God:
The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' (Acts 2:20-21)
Calling on the Lord won't save us here, it will save us in eternity, where it counts.
@@nqx You are focused in the crystalized, fundamental, self-righteous, out-dated, literal, uneducated beliefs. I understand this as I once was in that position, too, as a fundamentalist Pentecostal church member. However my deeper and wider questioning lead me to the Bailey books. We do NOT know that the Bible is one hundred per cent accurate. It has been tampered with, parts deleted, misconstrued, mistranslated, misunderstood and misinterpreted. Much of this was done by the Church to have power of people's lives and to keep people in check. The Old Testament Jewish god Jehovah was an errant, jealous and angry demi-god. Jesus Christ came to show the Way to the God of Love. The New Testament was not written by His disciples in HIS life but years afterwards by others. Other scripts, such as the Dead Sea Scrolls/the Gnostic Scriptures give other perspectives on His teachings. The Alice Bailey books are part of the New Era /Age for spiritual education of the Soul (the higher, abstract mental vehicle) for those who are ready to develop their consciousness. Christ is known by other names in other religions and ideologies. The name denotes an office, that of ''The Anointed One' (from Greek). Christ 'saved' us from our sins/wrong doings by showing us the way to Light, Love and Goodwill. His journey has been before us, as the fastest and first to reach the highest level of enlightenment on Earth. When all people on this planet practise Soul Values then we do save ourselves and our planet. We will become 'Heaven on Earth' The Buddha is the 'Older Brother' of the Christ and they both head the 2nd energy of Love-Wisdom. There is a Plan and Purpose for humanity and this planet, Earth. The Bailey Books explain this. I suggest you dare to read 'From Bethlehem To Calvary', by Alice Bailey. It educates and elucidates on the life of Jesus Christ and His Mission on Earth and verses in the New Testament.

but showing loving devotion to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments. (Exodus 20:6)
Now let’s listen to Jesus Christ in the New Testament:
If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. (John 14:15)
Same God, same being. Do people love God or hate him? We keep God's commandments because God must judge sin, but Christ died for our sins. As I said in my previous comment, God will not allow his word to be tampered with in any way, shape, or form. Furthermore, no other god is called a savior but Jesus Christ, who was "with God in the beginning" as we read in John 1:2. He was with God in the beginning because he is God, as a man. If we asked the invisible, infinite God, the creator of all, what he looks like, he would present to us Christ the savior. Show me where Buddha or any other god is called a savior. Here's God again from the Old Testament:
I, yes, I am the LORD, and there is no Savior but Me. (Isaiah 43:11)
When God would come down in the Old Testament and appear in human form to talk to the saints of old, we refer to this as a Christophany. This is a manifestation of the pre-incarnate Christ, the ancient of days God, the 70-year-old white-haired God, as we see Jesus Christ in the same form in Revelation chapter 1, described with white hair. He's now back in "the glory of Father". The belief that God in the Old Testament is somehow different than the personality of Jesus Christ is false. He's the same person, but in different form (Father/Son). Now, if we sin from human weakness, we have Jesus' once-for-all sacrifice on the cross to forgive our sins, not animal sacrifices, which were temporary until Jesus came. Again, people view God as bad because he judged Israel for doing abhorrent things, which I mentioned in my previous comment, killing their babies and so on. God hates sin and evil, and he will judge it, even now. But I don't condone everything that fundamentalist Pentecostals say or do. Satan works in many churches to turn people away, making them bitter. So, don't put your trust in human beings or the stupid stuff many of them say and do, as it says in Isaiah:
Put no more trust in man, who has only the breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he? (Isaiah 2:22)
Put your trust only in God our savior and his commandments, and as John says again, "And his commandments aren't burdensome". You are the perfect example of a lost sheep, but as we get closer to the end of all things, remember these words of Jesus Christ:
3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the pasture and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders, 6 comes home, and calls together his friends and neighbors to tell them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep!’ 7 In the same way, I tell you that there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous ones who do not need to repent. (Luke 15:3-7)

I’d love an update video once you get more into the books. It’s hard to find content or reviews on Alice Bailey because she’s so niche, only other people I’ve heard talk about her are David Hawkins and Jordan Thornton.

I have been reading the Alice Bailey books for quite some time, my life experiences are very accurately described in these books. For me, these books are a rich source of guidance because I learn a lot from them. Many problems I have encountered in life have been solved by the knowledge in these books and the practical application of this knowledge.
I came across Alice Bailey through share international - Benjamin Creme.
As we are often reminded, a master is always self taugt. Live and light.

In the Ageless Wisdom system there are basically four levels of illusion. At each of the first 4 initiations one level of illusion is seen through or overcome. Glamour is AAB's name for illusion on the emotional level. Later on, in her autobiography she wrote that she regretted using the word "glamour" because it was misleading. Here are the names of the first four initiations and the levels of glamour.
1st initiation - Birth - Maya or illusion on the etheric level
2nd initiation - Baptism - Glamour or illusion on the emotional plane
3rd initiation - Transfiguration - Illusion on the lower mental plane
4th initiation - Crucifixion - Illusion of the whole integrated personality/illusion of higher mental plane.
5th initiation - is called the Revelation and one becomes a Master of the Wisdom.
The Ageless Wisdom gives a much deeper explanation of the Gospels and one that has been part of all of the major religions in the history. Its a universal pattern and not unique to Christianity. One of the big differences between the Ageless Wisdom and Christianity is that we don't have just one life, but reincarnate hundreds or even thousands of times to develop our Souls, which means we don't go to Heaven or Hell after death, but all go to Heaven and then after a while reincarnate in a new body for new experiences. Orthodox Christians think Jesus died for our sins so we don't have to do any work to master death, wheres in the ageless wisdom, we all go through these 5 initiations to become a Master of the Wisdom. Jesus Christ just set us the example to follow, he didn't give us a shortcut. Everyone has to do the work to move through those 5 initiations and become free from the control of matter.
Her books are amazing. What a remarkable woman. I’m almost done reading Esoteric Psychology Volume 2. I just recently purchased all her works and so far they have been a treasure trove of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.

@@bookclub5291 I came across these books by coincidence, Tupac read Ponder on This, some of his music and work directly quoted some passages, interesting aspects Light, Soul, Color, Universe but in the the end seems like a bunch of people trying to trump themselves up as prophets.

It's *supposedly* in "The Externalisation of the Hierarchy", though I haven't verified this yet. If I were you I'd look up a pdf of the book online so you don't have to give these satanists your money.
There's alot of material scattered throughout the books on the Plan. The Plan in the Alice Bailey books is just that portion of the Divine Purpose that is the immediate focus for creating Heaven on Earth.

The Lucis Trust will ensure that they are available at a reasonable price to buy and/ or on-line. The books are definitely a WEALTH of WISDOM. Monadic Media is also putting out some wonderful videos about them on You Tube.
I bought some in german these days which are out of print, but still easy to get for a reasonable price. I reckon the prints must be a lot bigger in english, so I wouldn't bet on a rising price.
@@Hagelnot You should not read the books in German, the German translation of the books is so bad that it leads you astray, it is so bad that it would be better to learn English even if you had to learn the language completely from scratch!

To me the Alice Bailey writing seems to be a handed-down metaphorical treatise on physics, and the physics of consciousness, and how that works. eg. how we use our bodily senses to see our world, and how to expand that for the betterment of all. I wonder if her political ideas are hers, or the 'physicist' DK? :D

(sorry for my following long reply but here goes:) I first heard of AAB when a good friend told me he read ALL her books over a year or two and thought they were very challenging but fascinating, recommending them. I too bought 'ponder on this' which was intriguing, and a few more I never got to, then lost. Lately I have been reading 'telepathy' from an audiobook, and it is so dense that it takes time! However it so far agrees with my own realizations of "how we are one and the same with the aethers of everything" in a purely scientific sense. I can see many sections so far that I believe inspired many "modern physics theories', human design, and other 'modern' systems - though when you read AABailey you realize it is not modern but ancient. My won benefit has been the confirmation of my work in physics, but much more importantly, for a deeper clearer understanding of Christ Consciousness.
Glad there are others interested in these books.
Some of the terminology like 'heirarchy' is misinterpreted by many but I see it as a clumsy and outdated translation problem. A better word might be 'larger system' much like our cells are a subsystem of a human.

If you consider where much of her knowledge and information would have come form ‘The Masters’ then in it clearly both ancient and modern in one breathe. Her works are designed to help humanity.
In her autobiography she grew up Christian and is continually try to ‘save people’s souls’ by having them convert to the faith. I am very much enjoying the unfinished autobiography.

You read her books and really believe that the information contained are applicable and observable? I find that incredibly interesting because just like Corpus Hermetica and picatrix, the books try to hold authority in illogical claims. Honestly all of them were dissappointing.

She channeled the books or more accurately they were dictated to her from a Master of the Wisdom called Djwhal Khul whose last incarnation in a human body happened to be a Tibetan body. When he took the 4th initiation you have the choice to either preserve the human body you have in the form it is in when you take that Crucifixion/4th Initiation or you can make a new body in a any form you think will be appropriate. We all get to the Crucifixion initiation at some point in some incarnation and have to make that choice. Big difference between White Magic Occultism/the Ageless Wisdom and orthodox Christianity is that we believe in many incarnations and when we die we don't go to heaven or hell, we all go to heaven until our next incarnation which may be soon or could be many hundreds of years in the future.

A Treatise on Cosmic Fire by Alice Bailey was dictated to her by the Master DK who was/is a fellow disciple in the Ashram of the Master KH. Blavatsky mentioned in the Secret Doctrine that there are ten keys to the mysteries and A Treatise on Cosmic Fire is claimed to be the psychological key to the Secret Doctrine. The book basically shows the correspondence between a human being and planet a solar system and the Cosmic System of which we are part.
Externalization of the Hierarchy is all about the externalization of the Ashram of the Christ into manifestation on Earth and it includes alot of information on what humanity has to do to prepare the way for the Christs. He's not going to do all the work and humanity has to prepare Earth so the Kingdom of God can externalize on Earth and so the Masters of Wisdom led by the Christ can move openly amongst humanity. We are told the Christ will probably make the decision on when to return at the May full moon of 2025. One of the conditions given is that there must be three generations of no major wars, which clearly has not happened so on that piece of information alone the Christ will defer the externalization and reappearance for a later date when humanity has grown up a bit and is not fighting over land and money and power all the time. @@bookclub5291
