I think the reason why this update took so long is because the boys at GT Auto had to train vigorously at the gym for a very long time to be able to yeet an entire engine across their shop.
The change isn't about wether you "could" literally do an engine swap or not. It's about engine swaps being restricted to getting *the specific engine* you wanted from the roulette before the update to now being able to just go into GT Auto and buying it
I actually use the 787B rx7 in that lemans race for grinding money. Fully done with brakes, transmission, and flywheel it is an absolute monster. I usually win by minutes.
I can finally do that combination now. Been using a Raybrig swapped NA1 NSX for this race. Hilarious to sit before the finish line, waiting for time to run out so I don't have to do a 7th lap
I immediately bought two each of the newly available cars and also bought an Enzo engine swap for the F40. Sweet swap. I like being able to buy engine swaps. I have all the original engine swaps but only one of the most recent engine swaps. Now I'll be able to buy and test all of them. Awesome.
I just hope the reason for not putting a new track in is that Goodwood Festival of Speed is in July and maybe we get the Hillclimb Track back in June. GT always has a Time Trial Stand there and maybe this year we can do the Hillclimb instead of the circuit.
It was so much fun setting times for all the cars in GT5. I hope they bring it back as a permanent layout (think it would be the first GT game to include both layouts of Goodwood). Tho, as a sidenote; before GT7, I had no idea there was a road course there as well.
I love the 4 rotor in the FD. The gas will last for like 6 laps on the Lemans race. Kit out the car with parts and it amazing. Been running it for quite a while.
I am SO HAPPY they added the Giulia Sprint! It is such fun to race in, in older games, and I love to see them race in real life, being so small and nimble. It is also a beautiful classic vehicle!
I’ve been using an RX-8 with the 787B engine for a long time as my cash horse. Also the ’92 NSX with the NSX GT-Concept’s engine. So great to see engine swaps available now without having to resort to that ”roulette”.
One of the biggest frustrations is the lack of utilisation in current tracks. A large percentage of the community have asked for more endurance races, more challenge races and just more races in general, it shouldn't take long to add those to existing tracks.
My current favourite engine swap is the 13B-REW-RX7 into the '91 Cappuccino. A sub 600pp, 220mph monster that is awesome on the 700pp money grind at Le Mans. A surprising stable combo at almost 600hp, under 700kg, that can run RS rubber for several laps. I also had the opposite problem of scoring an Enzo engine early on and then had the painful wait for the F40 to pop back up in legends.
Like you said the quality of life has vastly improved due to the tuning changes but now we need more courses and events to test these out on. The next update I hope will be performance/race car based with a course (or two). I really want to see Silverstone and Matterhorn make a return.
Being able to buy these swaps should have been there from the start, but I'm glad it's finally here. I've long since walked away from this game and likely won't be coming back, but it's good to see positive change even if it is literally taking years for any of it.
Agree with this completely. GT7 lives in its case, on its self being part of the collection, but I do not see myself playing it again. GT7 has made me doubt the series, and as of today, my collection of each GT game has stopped.
Same here. The core game is GREAT but the taking so long for quality of life update kinda came too slow. It's like we were little lab rats and they only drip feed the content we ACTUALLY want when they see numbers dropping..ALOT of these features should have been in the game a year ago. We haven't even gotten any new championship series to race in
@@RScholl26 I'm just more into sim racing now so these simcade titles just don't do it for me anymore. I played this one when it initially came out as something to race while on the couch or maybe in bed when I don't feel like jumping on the rig, but walked away from it in about 3 months from release. I've reinstalled a couple of times since then for some updates, but ultimately was gone again within a day. Personally, I didn't enjoy GT7 the same way I did GT Sport.
Agree, this should have been a feature since the start. Locking key gameplay mechanics behind rigged rng was a moronic idea. They should take this positive feedback to the change as a sign to remove manufacturer invites from the roulette tickets as well and instead give them as a reward for winning races in or collecting said manufacturer's cars. This is much more similar to how manufacturer invites work irl, and it gives the player agency to work for the invites they want instead of just waiting to get lucky. I still haven't bought the game yet. I've been waiting for changes like this and I'm glad they're finally adding some, but they still have a ways to go. I think I'd quickly get tired of the lack of proper championships and endurance events so I'll probably keep holding out for those, if they get added at all.
@@rjhick1 cant say I agree, and I am the biggest fan of old Gran Turismo games. IMO of course. But I came to gt7 after a longer hiatus from gaming, when it was already released for 9 months, so I dont know how it was at the start. Still... I am pretty pleased with this game. Its not perfect, but it is solid.
I was lucky enough to get the 787b engine from the roulette wheel early in the game so I have a great tune on it I will link the video tonight I will make one.
I’m so glad to see them add the extra tuning parts and engines to be purchased. Especially the tuning parts. Man was it ever so annoying when I would get parts for a god damn genesis.
As they add some of these “features”, I can’t help but wonder why they didn’t include this functionality at launch. Trying to win any of these items on the roulette was an un-fun, exercise in futility. This game had so much potential
Funny enough, I was just thinking to myself the waste of having a car collector tally when it doesn't do anything other than change your garage. Well, I'm happy they decided to expand the tuning shop. It was getting annoying receiving ultra turbo kits and parts for cars I wasn't keen on tuning before others.

I put the titanium con rods and pistons in an Alpine 220 race car and it has made a huge difference to an already great car. And there are a couple of engine swaps I never managed to win at roulette that Im keen to try out, so a pretty good update for me anyway.
Now it's time to remove those manufacturers invitations tickets, I always get citroen and Bugatti, but never Ferrari or Aston Martin and I have the game since day one...I liked the wheel ffb update some months ago but it still needs some refinement...can't feel some of the curbs that you instead feel with gamepad...

I won the 787B engine on a roulette spin and put it into the RX-8 instead. I won't say something as stupid as 'now I can do both' but at least there's an option to do both, even if it's super expensive.
I have played some classic GT Games recently what i do want now is Mid Field Raceway. I wish they kept classic configurations while they still added their own Sport Configured track. Hopefully we get some more tracks would love to see them rendered HD but PD probably has other plans for them. 😪
Best update of the game so far! The devs maybe realized the roulette is still broken or glitched according to many players of Gran Turismo 7 which is why many of the things I get from the roulette wheel are the least valuable in the lot.
That's not "just another Skyline", it's a very important car in the GTRs' history and indeed only the second R32 GT-R to exist in GT7, after the non Nismo 1994, V Spec ii that already existed in the game! 😯😂😀🤘 . While PS Blog gives quite a detailed description of the differences between the "normal" R32 GT-R's and the Nismo, reading Wikipedia and indeed from memory, technically its' description blurs the lines between "normal" 1990 Nismo and 1991 N1 Nismos, while there were further changes added to the N1 models with V spec I and V spec II versions coming out in 93 and 94, as well as separate non Nismo, V spec I and II's which were produced in larger numbers than the limited edition Nismo models... Indeed for comparison, completion and choice, as well as to match the older GT games, we need about ten more R32 Skylines in the game!! 😯😂🩲😀🤘🤞 Some of the following is noted in the description... All Nismo models include airflow and aerodynamic changes and other improvements over standard GTRs, such as no rear wipers as well as no ABS brakes, as ABS isn't allowed in Group A racing, while its' removal also saves weight... As with normal GTRs, all Nismos include aluminium bonnets and front panels, although it's possibly lighter still than in normal GTRs... While the radio is removed as standard, it can be put back in optionally in normal Nismo models, while all Nismos are fitted with 16" wheels and 225/55/R16 tyres as standard and feature cross drilled brake rotors - they can be fitted with optional 17" wheels, among other options, including sports exhausts and suspension braces. Quite interestingly, the replacement of the standard ceramic turbos in normal GTRs in favour of metals ones for Nismo models was done in favour of reliability rather than performance and likely suffer from more turbo lag as they sacrifice spool up speed for their added reliability 🤔😯😀🤘 . All normal Nismos were Gun Grey Metallic, while N1 models come in special thinner and lighter, Crystal White paint ... It's the N1 models that completely remove the radio, speakers, air conditioning and even the carpet from the boot!! N1 models also include a reinforced master brake cylinder and additional brake cooling ducts... From 1993, the V spec I (or VICTORY Spec! 😀🤘), N1s added Brembo brakes, a retuned ATTESA E-TS system, and 17" BBS wheels with 225/45/R17 tyres, as standard. The V spec II in 94 seemingly only increased the tyre and wheel's width and size to 245/45/R17, with no other changes noted... Possibly only the V spec II but likely the V spec I as well, is noted as being 50kg heavier than a standard GTR and 80kg heavier than a standard Nismo, likely due to their larger and heavier wheels. There were various tuned special editions then, such as the 10 Zero R's built by HKS with 591hp, which it's believed only 4 remain in existence! 😯😀🤘 . All in, I welcome these cars and many more - at the very least, we should have all the detailed cars from GT5 and 6 and all their tracks, if not also their standard cars as well, but as is, the game is getting slowly better and better! 😀🤘 . (Also indeed while the R32 was developed significantly through its' lifecycle, as said and alluded to, with the "normal" R32 GTR coming in 89, the Nismo in 90, the Nismo N1 in 91 and Nismo and non Nismo V spec I and II models coming in 93 and 94, this continued development made it easier when launching future generations of the car, with the R33 and R34 having "normal" GTRs, Nismo and V spec models available from launch! 😀🤘.)

Really enjoy your videos. Thanks for your time and sharing.
The focus was my 1st engine swap and still one of my favorite cars
I won the 787B engine on a roulette spin and put it into the RX-8 instead. I won't say something as stupid as 'now I can do both' but at least there's an option to do both, even if it's super expensive.
5:13 You can do that or you can take it to an oval track like Daytona to see what great speeds you can achieve without braking.
looks like someone at polyphony likes the 2010-14 WRX/STi Subies with engine swap animation and weight reduction icon
Ive been given 6 engines this month and one doubler i really needed didnt know you could put the escudo in the gto.
This was great, please film more big engine swap silliness
Some of the following is noted in the description...
Love the fact you upload video every day of a week, great content dude, keep’em comin’ 🤟🏽❤️🔥
agree with you "silly thing to win a certain engine or part with roulette"
Group b audi into a tt. Porsche 919 into a Cayman. 2jz into bra. Hellcat into viper. Merc gt into gullwing
Would’ve loved to see VIR added in since I’ve driven that track numerous times before and would’ve also loved to see the new Ferrari and Porsche gt3 cars. Oh well hopefully for the next update I suppose. Great content once again mate. Keep it up.
I just noticed now that you have a philippine flag at the back after watching several of your videos from the pc. I immediately subscribed from my account here on my phone. 😁🇵🇭
That animation is classic GT3/4 vibes lol
The engine swapped RX-7 in an otherwise stock car is crazy and nearly scarily fast - imagine how quick it'll be with full modification and tuning!! 😯😂😀🤘🤞
I do still wish they would add the old top gear test track. I just loved doing my own top gear leaderboard on GT5 back in the day.
Not really a skyline fan but the r32 NISMO is the real deal that created the reputation.
