I’ve actually played the two mixed before a few times in a 2v2 matchup (one player from each team brings Heroscape and another MtG:AotP). It worked fairly well except some AotP units are OP against Heroscape so both teams need to take advantage of this or otherwise the team that doesn’t gets wrecked just based on armies. Also you have to make it so Heroscape units cannot not be targeted by spells as otherwise is way to OP (auto wound and kills, heals, resurrection, etc)
Once I tried mixed units in one army but was too complicated, so at best play 2v2 “two handed” (you play both armies of a team as described above) with maybe lower points like 350 of each army for both MtG:AotP and a lower point spell deck as well. It had been over 4 years since I last played this though.

@@lefton4ya Oh SICK thanks for chiming in 🔥🔥🔥 I expected that nobody had ever attempted it, given basically every heroscape player I've talked to never gave AotP even a first thought despite it being 80% the same game engine.
I'd expect that blue and green are worse into heroscape, especially bc blue's nature of countering spells, while red and black are probably the more OP stuff due to their general ability to kill low life squads.
The standard heroscape common spam meta builds would probably do decently enough into any AotP that isn't red or black, but in general, the name of the game for beating AotP armies is to kill the Planeswalker before they can play all of their spells (this is often the key in non-scenario deathmatch AotP games) and I'd bet that heroscape has the tools available to them to pull that off with some reasonable consistency. Namely, single-target assassins or board control figures which can maim/expose the Planeswalker - think Cyprien, Sujoah, Wyvern, Gladiatrons, maybe even the Deathstalkers, and a good chunk of the dragons (Nilfhiem and Charos especially, but even Braxas would melt AotP's multi-life squads just as easily), etc.
So, are you saying you are here to play our refined mixed ruleset with us? 💪🏻😉

Are really that expensive? i have seen people from the usa wasting money in stupid shit. bags, clothes, etc............. The point of playing with people is kind of loose. Maybe in your state people play warhammer in other probably not. Im from mexico in my state no one play heroscape even less board games, they consider that stupid and for kids, and some others don't have free cash to spend it in plastic. I have seen other people enjoy heroscape just because of building terrain etc............

You're not wrong. Americans spend a lot of money that they don't have on things they don't need (often, for the latest fashion trend, probably due to perceived social pressure/trying to look rich and cool.)
People in my personal life do not think this is a good price. Hell, I do a Heroscape-aligned YT channel and I think it's too expensive, and I love the game! When it costs as much as the leading miniatures wargame (Warhammer is probably the most popular wargame in the US) many people aren't going to buy the niche game when they can get the established and popular game for the same price.

@@unhingedmanchild You really think warhammer is cheaper? I was triying to get in to it. Really expensive. I have seen units that cost 300 dollars each lol

@@stormk-1130 No, not cheaper, it's about the same price. Warhammer is arguably better quality and has a much more recognizable name/community, though.
The price tag of heroscape doesn't match its popularity/renown.

@@unhingedmanchild ooo ok ok. But is not a disadvantage to play warhammer with a starter kit? if you like to play with other people how can you beat better armies than yours. i know warhammer 40k is really big. And heroscape dont have that much figures so is easy to buy and get. Also to play. At the end you dont spend more money in 40k? Btw what you recommend to start in warhammer?

@@stormk-1130 Heroscape has *tons* of figures, if you count the old stuff from ~2005-ish. And THOSE are *VERY EXPENSIVE* to get copies of. I know from a buddy in my area that a local game store is doing heroscape tournaments and they allow the use of those old figures, and the masses of common squads are more powerful than the new heroscape figures.
Idk what to tell you about Warhammer... I don't play Warhammer, it's too expensive and I don't like painting miniatures. The same reasons why I'm not playing the new heroscape 😆
