@TheMilsurpMan just about every FFL around our state has used m1's for under $700. If you can aline with a dealer, you can get package deals on them for about $175. With 10 or more at a time. That goes for many surplus rifles/pistols.
@approachingtarget.4503 No, you can't. Lol I'm calling your BS right now. M1s haven't been that amount since the 1980s. You need to have your facts straight before you make a rude comment.
@@approachingtarget.4503you’re slow. I will bet you $100 right now that there isn’t a single FFL in Illinois with a fully functional M1 Garand for less than CMP. And that’s even IF there’s a single FFL in Illinois that has one for sale
I have to laugh at all the nonsense people go through trying to “make my Garand original again”. In basic training, we were issued M1’s which we drilled with, marched with, and when we went to the range, we fired. In order to demonstrate the interchangeable parts system, we were formed into a big circle in the squad bay… disassembled our rifles and except for the bolts, barreled receiver and wood, put all the parts in a pile in the middle of the room. Then we were given 10 minutes to grab parts and make our rifles operable.
Made a trip in April to cmp in alabama Found a December of '43 Winchester with a 1955 barrel that gauged at 2 & 2 Other than needing new springs she does just over 2" at 100 yards without load development Just over $900 out the door with an unissued ww2 sling Couldn't have been prouder, I shot around a hundred rounds through it and gave it to my daughter with the requirement that she shoots camp perry with it... she agreed
I ordered my service grade at the end of January - sticked for a ww2 dated receiver, and I just got mine a few weeks ago, and it's awesome. Receiver was a 6 digit (1942) with all of the drawing numbers on the rifle corresponding to 1942 - 1945 manufacture date. Also got lock bar rear sights, and a winchester milled trigger guard Mine also had a BRAND NEW criterion barrel with a manufacture date of 02/24. Everything is just great about it. The only complains about mine is mine was also a danish return stock that's REALLLLYYY dark. The finish on my metal, while being parkerized seems to be a lighter color like yours, with a darker op-rod. I kinda wish it was all dark, but I can't complain. It's an excellent shooter with time period correct parts.
That’s almost exactly what I received two weeks ago lol. The only difference being that my receiver is dated September 1941. Sounds like we both got some real beauties! It’s such an honor to be able to own such an awesome piece of history!
Congrats. You are going to have a alot of fun shooting, I ordered a Expert grade beginning of April and received it 3 weeks later. New walnut stock and a new barrel. I gave the stock 6 coats of BLO and it has a great sheen. This was produced in Dec44. It goes great with the Service grade a got 7 years ago. It was produced in May45. When the Production Director of SA guide the barrel at a maintenance course it was a 1 and 2, he said looked like barrel was original. Damn did I get lucky.
Ordered a M1 308 expert. They received it on June 16th. Nothing from them yet. Some people say the barrels are on ordered but of course they haven’t updated their website to sold out or anything. Now the waiting game.
I just bought a 1943 Springfield from a private estate sale. The only marks on the stock is a P squared with zero nicks. Mechanically looks perfect. Bought it on a auction. Not sure where I am at. Paid $1780.00 others on line were $2500 to $5000. I winged it and very happy. Looks new.
Nice rifle! I got the expert model a couple years ago, because I wanted a shooter. (New barrel) I would love to get a service grade, if it came with a new barrel, due to the corrosive ammo they used. Great video!
Very nice rifle. None available now on the website. You have bought several. When CMP says out of stock is that a forever or until they work through more? I check daily to see if more are added. And even considering a road trip.
Very cool buddy I got a TISAS US 1911A1 GI model and did nice! Tisas is killing the 1911 market right now! Even feeds federal Hst and gold dots with Wilson combat mags! I’ll take this Tisas over a kimber or colt anyway
Very nice! I like it. By the way, which upper did you put on your M16A1 H & R lower from PSA you showed us recently and was it also an H & R from PSA? I posted a question on that particular video, but it's probably been too long for you to check it regularly. Thanks!
With a mismatched stock, I'd go ahead and put a new DuPage Trading Company stock on it. Funny to see a Danish stock since the CMP ran out of Danish & Greek return rifles 20 years ago.
They still recieve M1s and parts from the Danish as of recently just in small batches. They even recieved a shipment of M1s from turkey a few months ago. I have no plans to replace the USGI stock. It matches perfect to me.
No houses here in Florida around any lake have fences until you decide to install one. Only half ever do. Communities not on lakes don't start with one but usually people install them in the first year.
You got ripped off.
Due explain. I'd love to have an explanation. Where else can you buy an M1 around the 700-900 range other than the CMP?

Got my service grade today 0n June 6th. Not bad timing.
Thank you for your quick reply. I'd like to request a video showing your M16A1 carbine. H & R / Del- Ton. Looks like a beautiful rifle!

How do you go about ordering one of these?
Lucky man. Wish mine was half as vintage
I saw an excellent piece of military weapon and a piece of military history in what it is a Garand.
A fitting tribute to those who risked and those who lost their lives 80 years ago.

I can’t decide whether to get the Springfield or Winchester expert grade! Which one do you recommend I get and why?
hey can you do a video how to zero the sights? There are a few videos how too for the M1 and the M1A it still seems confusing.
I would like to order just one…can you provide information regarding Ho to do it?
Google CMP Garande and it will be the first item on the list.

It was actually a delton upper, believe it or not. I picked it up from a friend of mine. I'm not sure if they are still in production or not!
What sight you go through to buy your guns
I can’t stop watching this lol

👍👍.................. good luck ..
When did CMP stop providing the hard cases?
They haven't! As I said in the video, you only get one per year now with your first rifle purchase on the year!
Aaaaaaand I’m back.
Obvious you opened it and looked at it before taking the video.
