They really dont help you at all. My first day besides orientation was so weird. I went in to the same place I had orientation to find the girl who talked us through the booklet, and made us sign the "no serving alcohol to minors" agreement. And I just said "hey, I don't know where I should be"
She took me to a a team lead, who took me to a random employee stocking an isle and just told her to show me the ropes. At that point I understood most of the stocking stuff. Put the stuff on the shelf, if it doesn't fit put it on top, if it still doesn't fit try to make room by top stocking, if it doesn't fit after that put everything back into the box and mark it as overstock (I'm on day 3 and still have no idea what to do with overstock. no one explains shit.)
After that, we went on break. After break I again had no clue where to go. So I just walked around looking for the team lead to ask her what to do next. She took me to someone else stocking an isle and I did that for the rest of the day.
Day 2 I again went to the orientation room and asked someone where I should be. They took me to another team lead. That team lead took me to an isle to top stock everything. And I wasn't sure if I was supposed to keep moving down the isles, or just do that one. So I just kept going. She said she'd check up on me, but never came back lol. And then I went to find her again so she could show me something else to do. I helped set up a display, and then just went with someone else (who was also new) to stock more shelves. And we kinda stuck together the rest of the day. If we finished something we'd just go back to the backroom and look for someone else to tell us where to go.
And now tomorrow I start my first shift in overnight. And I still don't really know much. I know how to stock stuff.. but if there's more to the job I am not aware of if yet, because no one has told me ANYTHING.

The secret to Pets is to take the whole pallets down the aisle and move the pallets close to each heavy dog section and stock them. Always making sure you are close to them. Then it won’t seem to heavy.

More Walmart stories. I just started with them. It’s only my 2nd week. I’m bouncing all over the place. I’m Cap 1. Either in GM or Grocery. I’m still trying to learn how to Bin and Cap using the TC Scanner. I don’t really have time to learn it when I’m floating everywhere, even smashes boxes using the Baler. I’m trying to stay positive, but now I’m off until next Saturday WTF.

There are 5 levels of leadership, your lead is/was at the first level (authority) while the 5th level is people follow you because they like following you. Leaders need to show respect and respect is earned. Leads are supposed to show a good example for those they lead to follow. My cent.

I’d like some advice. So I just started on CAP 1. My first orientation day was 9 hours and 2 were videos and talking to HR and SM. The rest besides 1 hour lunch was me working freight in frozen. I was taken to the pallet and just told to stock. Nothing marked and of course I have no idea where anything goes. It’s all backstock. They are so far behind. The lead over me has only been doing it for 4 days. It’s a mess and looks like either night crew or previous associates just broke boxes and threw product in freezers. Tomorrow is my second day and I already don’t wNt to go. I’ve been a supervisor/manager the last 12+ years. The managers really don’t know what to do.

Remember this, Depending on what department they put you in you are only mandatory to work so many boxes an hour, do not do what I did and bust your a** and go as fast as you go.. When you do that they see your work ethic and they will make you do way more than every person in that entire store every single day and they will work you until you are exhausted and just want to quit. Most walmarts have a sheet in the back room where they stack the freight that shows you the department and the case per hour numbers.. Good luck.
