Thanks for this video! This is exactly my problem. I actually can hold the key slightly in the Start position after my truck cranks and it stays running. Once I let go of the key and it settles to its On position, I can see all the electrical cuts out and my truck stalls.

I’m having the same issue with my truck. I don’t want to spend $1000 for it so I’m going to try blowing it out with compressed air first and if that doesn’t work I’m just going to send out my old one with my keys to get repaired. Of course this issue comes with a huge price tag🤦♂️

Thank you for the video this is a video on how to change out to a new ignition not a fix but I can add this you can take the ignition box out 4 screws 2 on ignition box take it apart and air blow it out and it might do the trick for some it did for me and I was getting nothing thanks again hefty price on the new one wish Dodge would take better interest in us swave😊

My problem is that it thinks that the key is still in the ignition but it’s not in the ignition, would i have to get a new ignition module or what can i do?

Can this cause a crank no start condition. It’s a 2017 2500 6.4. It will run if you shoot starting fluid in the intake initially. After that it will start over and over until it sits overnight. Like the fuel pump isn’t on in start position but is in run position
i have seent this issue happen also on challengers and chargers most of the time is the fuel pump and the connector also the fuel pump relay fails often

I have 2010 ram 2500 hemi ST doent have the keyfob uses an actually key but same style i get power to everything but no crank or even click of the solenoid
I would check the starter first and if is ok then the ignition switch could be the issue

I have the same Issue but I was told that the new module has to be programmed by Dodge or else the truck will go into THEFT / LOCK out mode ?
the new module does not need programming but it needs special tools to program the key, there is a website where they sell u the module ready plug and play

My 2010 ram 2500 6.7 battery light keeps coming on and off. Everything checks out good. Voltage stays up. The module is the original and the starter is original. But starter checks out good. Would the module make it do that. The truck has 393000 miles An where did you get the win module
no this module won't make that problem happen. I would say it could be the ECU I have changed plenty of the ECUs specially on these engines but I would first check the batteries because these trucks use 2 and if one of them fails it makes the truck act weird.
Mine just clicks once likes it the starter but it isn’t. I tested it from the starter relay with a paper clips. Bought a new relay too so the relay works. Battery and alternator is also good. It starts sometimes but sometimes it just clicks. Could this be the issue ?
have you tried blowing with air the ignition switch hole it could be full of dirt

No I don't think so. U may wanna check your fuel pressure. Or u could have an electric problem.
Yes, if your key jiggles just right the truck can shut off. Just take the WIN out and spray it with brake cleaner or electric connection cleaner. Save yourself hundreds of dollars.

yeap they are making a big profit on this issue some shops
$1000 for just the part when I clicked on the op’s link. Amazon ranges from 250-500, so I’m going to risk going that route, but I haven’t seen one that comes with the key, but they all have the key in the picture

if it says damaged probably is not the correct key or it is the original key u always used.
Did the new keys come preprogrammed? Other videos say you have to get the keys programmed at the dealership

I missed the actual part number from ATE. Some say the problem is is the hub this switch activates.

Here's an idea! With the price of gas so high, be very careful where you buy your gasoline. You might be putting water in your tank also!!!

@@JVFIXLLC thanks it was the fuel relay fuel pump was inconsistent I did the bypass now it buzzes the fuel pressure right up 😭😂

@@JVFIXLLC it cranks so strong just doesn’t work when it wants to really cold mostly it goes away rest of seasons no stalling or anything
Mine just died had the battery checked and it was good. Went into a store for 10 minutes and came back out none of the dash lights come on at all when I turn the key. Had the battery checked and it was good. Now idk how much it’s going to cost me To fix it.
I would try first using an air blower to blow out the dust that sometimes gets stuck where u insert the key and then if it doesn't work then u will need new module

How much you pay for that?
The module and keys was about 400 plus tax depending the state u live. But I would advise you first to use an air blower can or something similar and blow at the ignition switch. So basically what happens is that dirt gets stuck on the contacts inside causing a non contact issue if doesn't work then u have a faulty switch.

then you will need a locksmith or you can get the whole box with 2 fobs plug and play

My Dodge ram 1500 with a 5.7 hemi 2015 will not start will not read the key at all
I had a similar issue with a smart key on a 2015 dodge charger, the key was damaged, did a replacement and saved the customer 500 for the trip to the dealer and towing
@JVFIX yo I got a 2011 that woke up one day and suddenly the ignition switch is locked and won't turn. It's not "turn the wheel" kind of simple crap. Is my ignition switch just done for or is there a way around it because it's 500 bucks
