I don't necessarily believe his "friend left it in my car" story. It does sound a bit made up to try and spare himself from further action at the time. But regardless of truth or not, a sentence like that is absolutely embarrassing for the UAE. And exactly why, no matter how many Sky Scrapers they throw up...they will remain so far behind most of the World in terms of their attitude towards things like the justice system. There is no pattern to sentencing here at all. 25 years for being found in possession of some vape oil containing CBD. So what do they sentence serial killers? 400? It makes no sense. The sentence in NO WAY AT ALL fits the crime. And this is why a lot of people are still dubious and unwilling to travel to the UAE. This makes Dubai look like a place to avoid, not a place to visit.

Well apparently his friend msged him on whatsapp saying he left cbd in his car and so the whatsapp was intercepted by the authorities cos it had CBD in it and thats how they pinpointed him. Its not like he was flying out and going through customs. So for them to go out their way to stop him wasnt a hunch or anything routine. They had information.

I may have spelled it wrong but 3 young men were in jail for a year but were released after they were helped by Reprive. Good luck to you, your son is in my prayers, Psalm 23!

My question would be, where's the proof that his friend left it in his car, and this friend is yet to be identified or come forward. A really great country to visit. I won't be visiting it anytime soon. I couldn't care less how good the weather is, and like I pointed out earlier, there are coaching opportunities all over Europe.

I am shocked and disgusted at this. If you are a wealthy lawyer , and are able to to help. Please do. This country, UK. There are different sorts of CBD oil. Some has the THC removed hence you cannot get high. I think that is what they found in Billy’s car.

Regardless you should have called up and asked if CBD was legal before taking it over to a very strict conservative country...when I travel anywhere abroad, I take extra caution, I double check what I am taking with me and I use pad locks to secure my bag.
