Luis de la Fuente was on the brink of being sacked a year ago, but has since managed to make Spain arguably the best performing teams at Euro 2024.
So, how did he do it?
Let's find out 🤝

A legendary comeback from La Fuente❤
Of the fountain
hes even benching Grimaldo for Cuca because the squad is probably more balanced that way
Cucumber has been great for 4 months
Cucumber?@@BigDeyum
Think their both great unfortunately grimaldo might be too offensive comoared to cucurella is what im assuming
@@BigDeyum cucumber 💀
And Southgate can't bench Foden, Kane, Saka if they play badly
It's bit sad to hear about how few Elite Managers are not a radioactive toxic as*holes, and fact that stuff like "I treat my coworkers with respect" is celebrated and not a commonplace
Ceballos is a bum and should have never been in the nt tbf
Ceballos has a weak mentality
You don’t know him
@@eddieherrera5314you know? Gfto
He probably thought he was a big player because he played for Real Madrid even though he's a rotational/backup option for them, most people don't know about him.
@@Rullino32He hasn't played because he's been injured.
Actually, De la Fuente likes Ceballos, he always called him to Spain, he was the captain for the sub21, under De la Fuente.
Yes. Making Morata captain (morata is a really nice guy) and bringing in players from outside the big 3 Spanish teams was crucial too.
Oyerzabal, Merino big examples. And it paid off
I think Spain's come back is being more direct, they use wingers like how Real Madrid uses them. Spain with Nico William & Yamal on the wings to dribble players while Ruiz is the Kroos, the tempo maker & playmaker. You have a solid build up & tempo while on the wings you have creative magic.
ruiz has been stellar this euro, wouldn’t be surprised if he wins player of the tournament
Rodri is more like the kroos of the team
Very similar to Real Madrid. You can see they still want possession but they use it with more intent. Every pass is very deliberate and delivered swiftly. You can build up carefully without plodding in the final third. They played a ton of short passes to win the 24 title, but they were also simultaneously the most progressive side in La Liga.
They were more proactive in defending and tackling high than most teams, but still did less than Bilbao or Sociedad in that regard so nothing too crazy. Actually Bilbao had nearly 50% more final third tackles than Madrid. They were third bottom for tackles in the defensive and middle thirds though. It's all a balancing act. Madrid had the fifth most touches in their box, the fourth most in their defensive third of the pitch, the second most in the middle and the most in the opponents' third and box. *But they average not even 60% possession.*
Suddenly Spain is playing much better too, rather than the usual death by 1000 passes. It's much nicer to watch, and from what I've seen so far I'm not sure how they can't be favourites.
@RL- This Spain reminds me of Madrid in 2017 under Zidane.
High pressure, good passing, controlling the ball, and a quick attacks, always willing to take risk passes knowing they had a great ball recovery after losing the ball.
@@decode3667 why is everyone in the comments glazing Madrid when there's more Barca players in the squad 😭
He absolutely loves ceballos
He’s coached him at every national level while being the captain
Ceballos wouldn’t have ever been called up by any manager if not for him
Fun fact: you can like comments by double tapping them and by tripple tapping them you can reply to that comment😱
single tap is enough 😅
@@sameeryeasir116OMG you were right 😮 , thanks
Think this one’s more on. The players than it is the manager, having 2 actual wingers has done so much for Spain
Dani Ceballos is not being banned for club tensions. Ceballos was injured this season & he didn't play as much. Ceballos is one of Fuentes' favourite players, he was one of the leaders for him at different age ranges in Spanish national youth.
Ceballos was like a vice captain at one time but injuries & not enough playing time ruined that. Fuentes uses the youth players he interacted with & trusts to be the leaders/main spine of the team. Ruiz & etc.
Ceballos has a friend that works for Radio Marca that wrote an article about Gavi (because of the whole thing where Ceballos pulled Gavi’s hair and Gavi shoved him to the ground in the next clasico) and the article was obviously negative and that caused Ceballos to stop getting called up because he was causing tension within the team it wasn’t only the injuries
he seems like a good guy
Ive always hated ceballos
Spalletti should start taking notes from De La Fuente.
I wish Brazil had a competent coach like him...
paging Dr Georgia, Dr Georgia boy!
Making Morata th captain is the best thing he did
It might've been controversial due to Morata's horrible performance in the Premier League, but it paid off since he has a coach that believes in him.
@@Rullino32 premier league ain't everything bro. Playing good in the Prem doesn't make You world class
@@aymaanskhan5194 I know, I was just highlighting one of the reasons why his reputation dropped massively, and a great coach means that he doesn't have as many issues as before.
I hate this form on content TIFO is making. Click bait shorts that answer questions that have an obvious answer only to end the video by promoting their bad articles
Bye bye Ceballos 👋
Who are you backing for Friday's quarter-final? 🇪🇸 🇩🇪
Why did he kick Sergio Ramos? 😢
Because he’s well past it? 😂
It's because of his age, he needed young players who could fullfill his role.
Tifo could have grown more, JJ and Jon should have stuck to their guns. Dunno why they sold it to athletic.
Plus the way JJ was experimenting before was so awesome.
Ceballos was part of his u19 and u21 sides that won euro titles but ceballos has become a bit toxic of late luckly he has fabian ruiz
Trying to emulate Don Carlo
Did he have a reason to kick ramos?
Ramos is just old ig. Plus Sevilla were terrible this season
Cup stays at vacation home😂
And finally rodri isn't being used as a centre back😭
So Brahim does not fit with this group?
Moroccan
It does, but wasn't called, Brahim didn't have enough patience.
It happens to some players, they rather leave than wait for their managers to give them a chance.
It's understandable since they want to play as much as they can.
@@SchlesticleHe was borned in Spain.
Only his father is Moroccan, her mother is spanish, he was raised in Malaga, Spain.

Spain is coached by Mahatma Gandhi?
That's probably explains their strong cohesion and chemistry.
He did by getting the weakest poule phase.
They played in group c?
@@stnbch3025 yea look at Italy Yesterday absolutely tragic form.
Doesn't matter, Spain are playing good, great players in all positions with good team chemistry
@@niggin9271 yea against teams that arent contesting them. Germany will likely put them in their place.
