We have to read the Scriptures for ourselves. The Bible says while we were yet sinners He died for us. The Bible says unless the Father draws us to His son we all will perish. The Bible says God sends His Son to die for us. The Bible says He planned salvation for mankind before the foundation of the earth. Salvation is a gift to sinners- given to us. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus whom was given to us.. we are not saved by works.
I hope that small group had gotten revelation of the truth through Scriptures. You are speaking truth! God bless you sister!!

Some of us have a difficult time feeling secure in a proper knowledge of God because we were not taken care of and protected as children. As a result, our lives have been fraught with paying consequences for trusting vultures who took opportunity of our ignorance that made us vulnerable. So sad. But I keep reading the Word and trying. It gets better, but I'm over 20 years in, and I still don't trust Him like others can because they have the concept of consistent, unconditional love from their families or someone God sent to them at some point.
Hey friend, I'm so sorry that you were not taken care of or protected as a child. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, God can minister to you in your brokeness. When we are weak, He is strong. He is worthy of your trust. We are so glad you are part of the CBT community.
I think that who God is shows the love and approaching to an incredible relationship. I don’t think that we should fight to be with him but that he is right there with us always.

I follow a RUclipsr that once said that we're SO broken that without God doing the work in our hearts we would NEVER come to Him on our own. It's not something that we do but God's grace towards us what brings us closer to Him ❤️
I'd love for you to make a video about what exactly means to "know who you are" by knowing Him, like, I know my sinful nature, my right standing before God thanks to Jesus, I know I'm a child of God, I'm convicted of things that I do wrong... But I'm sure there's much more to discover about yourself through God's Word, I'm just not aware of it. Can you discover things such as your passions, your callings, your personality... Through knowing Him too? And what does that process of self-discovery look like?

To be completely honest, I think it’s both. There’s a Greek word used in the bible called “synergy”. It means to work together with God in union. As James says, without good works, faith is dead. God does reach out to us on no part of our own, but we must make our own effort to grab his hand through tangible effort. If faith is all we need, then why does Jesus say the door (gate? I forget lol) is small that leads to heaven? Forgive me, but even the demons believe God exists. Faith is proven through our actions. Like the phrase “action speaks louder than words”.
That said, faith is more important than anything and even the worst sinner can be saved that’s true. But to truly repent, the word itself meaning to change one’s heart, means that we can’t live in sin while proclaiming we have faith in God. When we fall we don’t remain on the ground we get back up and keep going.
Sorry for the long rant. This is just my own convictions, feel free to disagree.
I agree with you... Believers can still be saved and be sinning.. however, I 100% agree that if someone is truly saved, they will not remain in sin and forsake God, but instead will, through the Lord's guidance over time/through a process, learn to depend 100% on the Lord, and they will learn to forsake the ways of the flesh/sin. Amen!! Loved "we get back up and keep going." And, the Lord helps us get back up, because without his grace and tenderheartedness, AND his authority over our lives and against the schemes of Satan, I don't believe we could. He is so good! Amen! :)

Oh my ! Oh my! Oh my! What an enlightened message! How thankful can I be?! You know, some time ago, I just didn´t have any urge to read the Bible. Always putting it off. God was far away. And then, out of the blue, Coffee and Bible Time popped up on my youtube. Just appeared from I don´t know where (well, I do now! Praise our Lord!) From that day on, I learned to read it, understand it, treasure it, highlight it too! Every morning I have quiet time. My heart has changed, my priorities have changed; happiness has filled me. That is why I never know how to thank you, your sister and mother enough.
For a loooong time I´ve wanted to write, didn´t know where to or to what email. Decided to post it here. Please accept my immense gratitude. God knows who brought me back to Him and He will bless you all, amazingly, for saving my soul.

Thankyou for this. It was very thought provoking and helpful. I was born again about 3 years ago. Recently I've been contemplating a lot, and prayed about this very thing. I've said several times recently "God, who am I, I don't know anymore". Your comments about getting to know God more deeply showing us who we are as we are made in His image was helpful. I think we have all accumulated a bunch of ideas about who we are that aren't really true. Maybe we need to clear all of that out of the way so God can show us who we really are.

The analogy of the raging sea and the lighthouse is a work based salvation. We have to swim (to work) our way to the lighthouse. By our own strength then God will except us.

God definitely comes to us. He says that we did not choose him but He chose us. The holy spirit draws us unto himself. And yes he literally came down to earth and was born into this world from Mary to seriously come and help us live an abundant life. God 100% reveals himself- yet again Jesus saying repeatedly how if you see him you see the Father. That right there shows how God cares to be known by us so much that he sent Jesus his son to show us who he is and what the Father is like. Does God also want us to get to know him and search for his hidden treasures inside his heart? yes. It's the glory of God to conceal a matter and the glory of kings to search it out. It's a two way street - a relationship. God wants to partner with us and the making of our legacy connected to him and what we will pass onto future generations.
Wow, I had a vision of a lighthouse on September 26th of this year, but the wisdom/understanding that God gave to me was completely different than that woman of God's description. First, I felt like the Lord was calling me to look up the use of lighthouses (though I already knew what a lighthouse was used for, but still I did so), only to find that specific definition of lighthouses is a towered (higher) structure that holds within it a powerful light (Jesus) that directs/warns (beacons, or signals, or PROTECTS), ships (could be seen as us in the midst of a big see) from rocks and other dangers. After considering that definition, I was highly comforted by the fact that the light from the lighthouse finds us, to bring us guidance, to bring us aid, to be the light of our lives. That is the power of the good news. Jesus is the light of our lives and He came to save us in the midst of us needing much saving. Though, I do want to say, this analogy is not all God is...there are so many more analogies that God could give me or other children of God that only briefly describes His character because He is just that good! Just wanted to share!! Thanks for this message Tay! :)

The way a light house reminds me of Jesus or God is: to keep our eyes fixed on the light (Jesus) On a ship, in a dark raging storm it is difficult to navigate. But to follow the light(Jesus) we can find our way in dark scary situations

I highly suggest looking into sabbath day worship. Worshiping on a day that he has ordained for worship is essential to knowing Him. Sunday is not the sabbath day. It's a day! But it's not the sabbath day. The seventh day (Saturday) is the sabbath day. Genesis 2:2. I'm not Jewish nor am I a messianic jew, I just wanted to tell you about what the Father desires for us. It seems as though many people ignore every verse that has anything to do with the sabbath. But im telling you guys that if you look surely you shall find. Look for the LORD, and you'll find ALL that you need to know! (matthew 7:7). The LORD has picked a day and sanctified a day to spend the day with you, the whole day. Yes, there is Sunday worship. but this day is so much different! (It's also sabbath today) leviticus 23:32. Sabbath worship is different from Sunday worship because this is the day he has picked to spend with you. So that you can rest, a day where you are commanded to rest. Rest as though He is here (He is: 1kings 8:57). What better thing to do than place all your worries at the Father's feet at the end of an exhausting week. For one whole day just to dwell with him. I highly suggest reading leviticust 23, exodus 20. Happy sabbath!

Why didn’t you use that moment to teach the others at small group at what you saw? And also how do you know they didn’t see that, but the main point for that day was about us asking God for things? Maybe the following week it could have been about God revealing Himself?

Pray to God about it! Maybe start with one of the Gospels. Learn about Christ. Then read some Psalms and Proverbs for praise and wisdom. Philippians and James are good New Testament books because they're short but packed with awesome wisdom! Hope this helps ❤️
