    thank you for the detailed explanation
    a few years ago i started using x-carve as you know , you don't have to really understand how it works for creating with it
    but now i want to build a new and reliable machine and your video is very helpful

    Your RUclips tutorial is great and clear. I've just started designing a router for a school in Zambia almost the same as yours including most of the components and I might need some help. I've ordered the upgraded GBRL 3018 controller as well as the older version just in case.

    Thank you so much for a well-delivered tutorial. I've had my V2 CNC XPro board and stepper motors for almost 2 years and I've not seen anyone discuss its setup and configuration so well as you did. I've been able to connect the board and the stepper motors and get them spinning. I just need to get familiar with the command codes. Thank you. Good job.

    Hello, while processing the g-code file I created with UGS in CNC, the CNC axes go to the place they need to go very fast when the carving work of a point is finished and trying to go to a different point (idle acceleration), which causes tooth skipping and the coordinate is distorted. I wonder if I need to adjust the grbl settings or the g-code file to reduce the speed of the axes in these transitions (idle speed).

    I am having an issue connecting my controller to my laptop and having UGS connect to it. When I try to do $$ is says the GRBL is still booting. I tries changing the baud but nothing works. Please help!

    I'm told I already have the best drivers installed when I try and install the drivers (1st step) however when I launch UGS I get the message 'no serial ports found'... There are no COMx ports in the Port drop down. It's almost like USG is not picking up on the fact that there's a USB lead in.... I am able to launch MACH3 and it connects immediately with no problem to my CNC and I am able to jog using this so commands are getting over as well...

    great design!
    I just wondering, the 3d printed parts are able to provide provides better rigidity than the belt driven system ?

    • @Schematix
      @Schematix  8 лет назад

      Thanks! I briefly covered this topic in my OX-Metal features video. I do recommend using a co-polyester filament for the 3D printed parts. I used PETG which is a very ridged tough plastic. Perfect for use on the OX-Metal. Though I would imagine a good quality ABS+ filament would also work. The use of both 3D printed parts and Leadscrew allows the OX to machine aluminium. Where as the original design (using GT3 belt) isn't intended to machine harder materials such as aluminium.

    Just plugged into Cbeam XL for first time and all good:D Simple question though - how do you get t to list the setting meanings in the $$ output? Mine just displays the number and value.. Yours displayed the setting function

    • @MouldyGuitars
      @MouldyGuitars 7 лет назад

      OK found the answer on the latest GRBL wiki "The x of $x=val indicates a particular setting, while val is the setting value. In prior versions of Grbl, each setting had a description next to it in () parentheses, but Grbl v1.1+ no longer includes them unfortunately. This was done to free up precious flash memory to add the new features available in v1.1. However, most good GUIs will help out by attaching descriptions for you, so you know what you are looking at."

    • @Schematix
      @Schematix  7 лет назад

      I'm not sure why yours isn't displaying more info related to the settings. Perhaps it's related to the version of software I'm using compared to yours?

    hello sir,actually in my UGCS it is written OK at the end and there is no errors but I think due to stepper driver or what stepper motor is not moving.
    but incase of grbl controller it is showing
    >G91
    >G01X-10
    error: undefined feed rate
    >G90
    and I changed CNC shield but new one too explode black one I think capacitor and I immediately power off and I checked next time one of x-axis a4988 doesn't work

    Like your instructions ... Just got my c beam xl together. Got the driver installed. Downloaded the UG code sender , but when I click on it as you did , I just get a bunch off files (maybe 35) don't get the screen for setting up cnc x pro settings. Any idea what I'm doing wrong.

    Your video was so good.....
    But i need to knw what do u mean by the revelution as u mentioned revolution= 360

    • @Schematix
      @Schematix  8 лет назад

      1 full revolution = 360 degrees. As mentioned I only briefly touched on the subject of calculating steps-per-mm value, as the topic is rather big. I recommend you use Google to find a more detailed explanation on calculating steps-per-mm. I may do a video in the future going into more detail.

    Hello, I really like your commitment to us to learn programming, but I can not understand why when I open the program UniversalGcodeSender "Machine status" Work and position Machine position X, Y and Z are always 0, Do you know the reason?
    And why can not set the extreme limit the size of the table?

    • @Schematix
      @Schematix  7 лет назад

      So the work and machine position stays at 0 even after manually jogging the machine? Personally I don't use soft limits. So the machine position in UGS is rather obsolete. Naturally though the work position is very important.

    • @nermin1985
      @nermin1985 7 лет назад

      Machine performs functions normally, but I do not see the status of the machine (position machines) cordinate? Can I do something to fix this error?

    • @Schematix
      @Schematix  7 лет назад

      Really there are too many possibilities for me to suggest a plausible solution. I'd recommend making a post on Openbuilds forums, add some screenshots and give plenty of details.

    I am using sketchup as my cad program. then makercam to convert gcode . My problem is that when it runs on my home made cnc it is a mirror copy . So if I was to draw a word . I have to flip it so it is backwards in Sketchup then convert to gcode . any ideas? please

    • @Schematix
      @Schematix  7 лет назад +1

      Hmm perhaps it's a fault with the exported g-code or settings. But are you sure the axis's are traveling in the correct direction? If either the Y or X axis is moving opposite to how it should, the part will be mirrored

    • @rccanuck4473
      @rccanuck4473 7 лет назад

      If I'm facing the machine +x goes away from me + y goes to the right and +z goes up is that correct ? Oh Ya thanks for the super fast response

    • @Schematix
      @Schematix  7 лет назад

      If you watch this video around the 12min mark you'll see how the axises should travel. ruclips.net/video/YWPHKF4pa2A/видео.htmlm9s I can't assess from your description if the machine is calibrated correctly, this is because it depends how you view the machine in relation to where you stand next to it.

    • @rccanuck4473
      @rccanuck4473 7 лет назад

      Omg your a genius or I'm an idiot or both. I had the x and y mixed up haven't tested it yet but that will be the problem thank you thank you thank you

    • @Schematix
      @Schematix  7 лет назад

      No problem, Just as a size note if you invert both the X and Y you'll be back to square one with mirrored parts. Only invert 1 axis. (doesn't matter if its X or Y)

      +Schematix ok thnx for responding, ploter cnc project stopped on that, i use universel gcode sender and x-loader to flach the arduino , my question is can the gcode generated by cam work in universal gcode sender ? :) thnx for responding again boss :)

    • @Schematix
      @Schematix  8 лет назад

      Provided the CAM software you're using outputs the correct type of gcode file (I normally use .nc file type) it should work just fine with UGS :)
