@@heartsonev2112 The movie is based on the Broadway play. "Defying Gravity" was originally sung by Idina Menzel, who played Elphaba on Broadway, and Kristin Chenoweth played Glinda. They actually made a cameo in the new movie :)
She reminds me of the My Little Pony episode watch Twilight's brother's fiance is a fake from a changeling queen and the real one was in the caves under the castle reminds me of that song
It’s not really a musical, just an episode about Marge wanting to relive her theater days and putting on a musical with the original cast. Except Lenny, he snapped or sprained his hip, I don’t remember
This is unironically a bop, and I would actually love to hear an extended version that straight up sounds like a full Broadway musical, like this was the final verse and bridge this is so good!
@@dihte1628 that immediately made me think “oh that works because Idina Mendel (Elsa) played Elphaba in Wicked, and they reference defying gravity here”
🌸 This feels like this song is from Wicked and Marge Simpson is Elphaba and is singing her own version of “Defying Gravity” but instead of her being treated badly by the citizens in Oz or her friend she is exposing this person who kind of looks like Glinda. Also the person who is voice acting Marge Simpson when singing this song did a great job. She has a very pretty voice. I have to say I definitely see Marge Simpson as Elphaba because of the green light hitting her face on the stage and the black clothes. Also I love how the characters are all rhyming when singing along with Marge Simpson. Have a wonderful Christmas/ Holiday! ^^ 🌸

Maybe 🤔
Dan Castellaneta is a hidden gem. He'll always be known as homer but he's a beyond talented improv artist and singer.
I wonder if it's harder for him to sing in Homer's voice or if it sounds better
@@rp9772 A good question considering he's also sideshow Mel and sings in a different pitch.
