This actually gives me a bit of a deep thought. Anxiety is always next to joy because when we are anxious, we want joy as comfort. We do things that bring us joy to lower our stress and anxiety. She looks up to joy because joy brings her the most comfort. It's also neat to notice that anxiety may have been more attracted to Joy because she was basically the leader of the emotions. Shes the one who keeps everything in line, in order, and does whats best for riley. When we are anxious, we lose control of what our actions and body does. Thus "anxiety attacks". (Which is NOT a proven medical occurrence, but there are studies being done on it). Where our heart races, our skin sweats, our hands shake, and our thoughts RACE with all the worst possibilities. All involuntarily. I love how they didnt butcher the inside out franchise, but actually added onto it and gave us a fresh but COMPLETELY needed insight on teens getting older and becoming more self aware of themselves and how others view them

I have also heard it took over 20 meetings for the anxiety attack scene, because they wanted to get it as accurate as possible. They kind've attached real-life experiences and feelings and such to the movie, and I think that's really a good thing to do.
