The Southern Pacific San Ramon Valley Branch Line ran between the Mococco Line and (eventually) the Altamont line, serving the agricultural industries in the area from the late 1800s and into the 20th century. The line eventually was abandoned, and can now be enjoyed as part of the Iron Horse trail in the area.
A group of modelers has created prototypically accurate renditions of some of the most notable places on the San Ramon Valley Branch Line in the form of modules that can be sized to fit most exhibit spaces. The exhibit featured on this program comes from the Concord Historical Society in Concord, California, and it can be viewed in person on the following dates:
    February 19: 1-4PM
    March 5: 1-4PM
    March 19: 1-4PM

Grew up here in Danville, still living here. Remember as a young boy riding my bike down to the tracks to watch the train run through town near the old lumber yard before the line was abandoned in 1978. I could hear it approaching downtown from our home near Podva Rd. Such good childhood memories.

I live right near the old San Ramon Valley branch. Absolutely love this. My house is located near the greenbrook bridge, in between San Ramon and Osage.
