Thank you so much!!! I know it's been years since you posted this video, but this is what happened to me today. No other videos addressing this problem and no replacement parts for this either. You're awesome!!!
I'm one of the slow ones that is grateful for your video...I didn't lose the seal but had put it back together wrong in a way that made no sense lol gave me a good chuckle when I realized my mistake. Didn't have money to buy another one either. Thanks for taking the time to share and saving my day ❤
Thank you for this i got my lil filter basket out of the dishwasher this morning & thought i had lost the lil parts. I recovered all the parts at bottom of dishwasher & u helped me put it back together WHEW! coffee time ☕️thanks again
Thank you so much for taking the time to make a video that has helped me and so many others. My daughter wants me to let you know that she thinks you’re awesome.
I didn't need to use a paperclip because I found the little rubber piece that holds the dripper (I guess that's the name) but you helped me to understand what to do with the pieces. Thanks a lot!
Yes! I am so pleased that you made this video! I have a Bodem coffee pot with the same problem-that plastic piece with the spring came out (but it needs a washer). I now have an idea of how to could fix it myself, find a washer that will fit. I found more help here than on the company's website. Thank you!
You rescued me today! I was at my vacation rental with guests coming in within the next half hour and I was holding coffee pot and spring fell out. Luckily I watched you're video and found the little rubber round wing nut looking thing that you said may fall in the sink. I found it and put it back together. You were so cute when you said some of are slow..it glad im.not the only one who had no idea how to fix it. LOL
Thank you brother! You just saved me from having to go out and buy a new filter basket! As the lady below me pointed out, you're a coffee god! Thank you.
Thanks! Although I have a ninja, so your fix didn't work, you did make me think of a solution. Now I feel like Ms.McGyver. I used an unused earbud cover. Hoarding savings lives!😉
Thank you so much for your video, I just got my NEW coffee maker ( Hamilton Beach 2 way brewer) . While cleaning before 1st. use the spring and cap came off the brewer basket. I watched your video and did a quick fix, just like you showed, and it worked perfectly. 👍
Ya....thanks...I thought I'd be nice and get the coffee pot ready for morning for my roomie. All of a sudden that little piece falls off. I knew it needed another part, but needed to be 100%. You cleared it up. Thanks.
Wow, thanks so much. I bought a $60 pot from Amazon and the water ran through as soon as it was poured in. They sent me a new one, same thing happened on that when used for the second time. Settled on a $20 pot and just lost a piece, probably same as this. I will be able to fix it now, and maybe even the broken original. Thank you again. Enjoyable lesson/directions.
This is exactly what I've been looking for! For the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to get the spring back into that black piece and make it stay attached to the basket. And without that piece, the coffee just pours out all over the place when I try pouring myself a quick little cup ☕while its still brewing So,yeah... its been driving me crazy for 2 weeks now! Decided to Google It, Found your video and I couldn't believe how easy this is to fix. But of course now I'm missing the little black piece but I still have the spring... GURRRR😡 Either way, this was super helpful. Really good to know. Thanks for the video ☕☕☕☕👍👍👍👍
I went to clear out the old coffee grounds today and the spring fell out, I had no idea what piece I was looking for until I saw this and was able to find it in the trash. Thanks so much for making this!
Oh snap! Thank you for this so much. I thought I was screwed and had to buy another coffee maker and I don't have the money right at this moment. Thank you so much!!
This happened to me this morning. I thought I'd have to buy a new coffeemaker. Going to try and use your fix in the morning. Thanks so much for sharing your fix!! 😊👍👍
I have a smaller coffee maker, and mine did not have a hole (like some of the other people here) but I was able to use a paper clip and a needle nose pliers and I wrapped a paper clip around the top of the plastic thing that goes up into the coffee basket. I used the needle nose pliers to squeeze and secure the paper clip around the top of the plastic thing. It worked !!! Thank you so much, I would have never thought to use a paper clip. Awesome !!!
Haha yeap that was me, I lost the little thing in the sink 😔 I used a twist tie, but your video helped me understand the purpose of that hole 😂 thanks!!!
thanks haha you saved my life. I among the people who is slow figuring it out. I tried screwing the thing, pushing and then just look up on youtube and get to this video which describes the solution to my exact problem haha
Thank you so much the coffee maker was letting water throw i did what you told me and it fixed it thanks so much for your help😊 the thing didn't fall off but i took the coffee thing out put it back in and the thing started working again thank you again
I can see where some kind of washer went, but it’s gone. Cheap coffee maker is only a few weeks old. Sigh. Your paper clip suggestion works. Appreciate how you explain it for mechanical idiots like some of us. Thanks! 🙂
Literal movement by movement, holding the two pieces in my hands.. watching you..sitting her holding up the spring with the bottom "Thingy" laughing as I am watching you.. Wow!..following the "Outburst" unexpected @ 4:03 a.m. Cheesy raw and pure comment regarding the "Hole" .. Thank you! 👊
Awesome video, pipe cleaner worked as well for my situation especially when the spring got lost. And, I'm thinking the plastic white casing of a wire will bend and work as well, just remove the wire before you use it.
I did not have the hole in the top of the stem, so I was able to wrap half of a small paper clip around the end after putting in the bottom of the filter basket and managed to form a wide v to tighten it, and so that it would hold it tightly...drinking my coffee now, thank you 😊
Thanks for making the video and thank you to the people that commented. The clear silicone washer from my Sunbeam brand one was in the sink and another drip coffee maker is now fixed! 😀 ☕️
I must have a newer model because the filter is set up the same exact way. It's a Mr coffee pot. Same filter except that little piece on the top does not have a hole to slide anything through. It looks like it may have been a circular clip that fit perfect over the top of that piece to prevent it from going through. I managed to shimmy a paper clip good enough for now around the top of it so it stays in for now. Worse comes to worse, I'll have to buy a replacement filter. But this came in handy, thanks!
I wish I could add a picture here for you. My coffee brew basket is exactly like yours EXCEPT for 1 small thing: I do not have a little hole to stick a paper clip through, where the clip goes. Instead, I have a really, tiny, small, clear like washer piece that fits over the stem part that sticks up in between the spring. Hope that makes sense .... anyhow, I turned over the basket to dump the filter and coffee out and the spring and black little part, came apart. After watching your video, I went back in the trash and found that the rubber piece had come apart inside the basket and stuck to the filter, thus coming apart when I dumped out old coffee. Had you not said anything about the clip, I wouldn’t have gone back Into the trash to look for a clip. Instead, I found the washer. Yay! Thanks for the video!
Just bought a sunbeam stainless steel coffee maker about $40 at Walmart for Christmas. Was just doing the dishes and the spring and rubber washer piece fell out. I found the rubber piece in the water thankfully so i hope i can pug it back together but also bought a two year warranty on the machine
THANK YOU! Now I know to try to look for a missing piece somewhere. I was trying to figure out HOW IN THE HECK this part attached back onto the basket. Thanks to you, I have a quick fix in case I can't find it. BTW you wouldn't need to buy a whole other coffee maker, just the replacement basket. The one for mine is like $8.99 + shipping but takes 2 weeks to arrive. I do worry about the paperclip long-term because I don't know what metal(s) are used in those things. Don't want anything toxic to leech into our coffee! So a paperclip would just be a temp fix for me until the new basket arrived. Now time to get my glasses/magnifying glass and look for that little piece before going to plan P (for paperclip)... :) Thank you!!!
You seriously just saved my life! Coffee God. xD
Stephany Triforce I agree!
Just on time .!!!
Thank you.
Thank you!!! 10pm studying needs coffee. You saved me!
First video to accurately identify this issue. Thank you from another poor person. Thank you for your time and sharing knowledge.
Thank you from the bottom of my caffeinated heart
I have a 4 cup mr coffee maker. No hole but wrapping a paperclip around the groove at the top still worked! Thanks, nice first video Apparition!
Thank you so much!!! I know it's been years since you posted this video, but this is what happened to me today. No other videos addressing this problem and no replacement parts for this either. You're awesome!!!

Thank you for this i got my lil filter basket out of the dishwasher this morning & thought i had lost the lil parts.

coffee time ☕️thanks again
You explained the solution thoroughly, in a way that's easy to understand. Enjoyed the video...thanks for your time.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make a video that has helped me and so many others. My daughter wants me to let you know that she thinks you’re awesome.
You're very welcome! It's my pleasure making sure we get that coffee in the morning! :-D Tell your daughter she's awesome too! Thanks for watching!!
You are a life saver. You were the only one who had any advice. Thank you.
I didn't need to use a paperclip because I found the little rubber piece that holds the dripper (I guess that's the name) but you helped me to understand what to do with the pieces. Thanks a lot!

Holy crap this literally just saved me from buying a new coffee maker. Thank you!
Ya....thanks...I thought I'd be nice and get the coffee pot
ready for morning for my roomie. All of a sudden that little piece falls off. I knew it needed another part, but needed to be 100%.
You cleared it up. Thanks.
Great video! Love that you gave multiple examples. Saved me a minimum of 7$, if not that, then the price of an entire new coffee maker.
Thanks dude. I had this same problem. A nice practical fix. Now I can feel better knowing I didn't break my sisters coffee maker 👍
Wow, thanks so much. I bought a $60 pot from Amazon and the water ran through as soon as it was poured in. They sent me a new one, same thing happened on that when used for the second time. Infuriated with the manufacturer, but grateful to you for the clear and useful resolution. Many thanks.
Thank you...I was looking for this particular spring fix and it looks like my Mr Coffee basket. Thanks again.
This is exactly what I've been looking for!

Thanks so much for making this video!!!
I went to clear out the old coffee grounds today and the spring fell out, I had no idea what piece I was looking for until I saw this and was able to find it in the trash. Thanks so much for making this!
Thank you, "it's a small thing, but it makes a big difference".
I have looked for a replacement basket without any luck, but thanks to you I can fore go that & continue to use my barely used black & decker.
Thank you for this! I can have coffee in the morning now!
Thank you! I didn’t have a hole for the paper lip but I got luckey and found a washer!
I was able to screw it on with plyers! So happy!
Wow thank u so much , I just ran a plastic clip tie in and back thru the hole and tighten it ... worked like a charm

Solid advice bro. Worked like a charm. Coffee is dripping! Sidenote, you should tell your brother to make his own coffee. Lol
I put a small safety pin, squeezed a bit more and it works! Big Gracias!

Awesome video, pipe cleaner worked as well for my situation especially when the spring got lost. And, I'm thinking the plastic white casing of a wire will bend and work as well, just remove the wire before you use it.

Thank you so much for this video, it was so helpful! Blessings!
mine ended up being a rubber washer that fell off when I was looking for the clip, but ty saved my day:)
Hahaha, these things can be tricky for sure. I was so upset when I heard that clip go down the drain. So glad I could help though, anytime at all! :)
