I have used Garrett's consultation service and it was fantastic. I will definitely use this service again with him. Do yourself a favor! It's worth it!!
We can’t have real plants because our cats destroy them. Also, there was an incident where an entire ant colony tried to move into plant in our bedroom one rainy winter, and now I’m scarred for life.
Bless you, darling Garrett, nothing gets the morning going like a good sarky snark. A very Happy New Year to you and your husband and the gorgeous doggies.
One of my neighbors ripped out their real marble floor from the entry, the short run of stairs to the kitchen, dining area, guest bathroom, laundry room, breakfast area and hallway to the garage. They replaced it with grey ceramic tile. They were ‘updating’ everything, sold it to another couple who also ‘updated’ everything and it recently sold to a man whose business actually contains his initials and ‘flipping LLC’ in the name. Before they moved in workers were already working on repainting the recently painted cabinet doors as I saw them working outside. I have made changes to my home, but not to sell it and move on. I don’t understand wanting to deal with the disruption and expense to change something that you won’t ever enjoy. I understand refreshing things just prior to selling but 8 years of constant hammering, power tools and contractors is tiring. You are never going to please everyone who is interested in purchasing your house and spending several hundreds of thousands of dollars seems pointless.
I agree. I’m not doing any more updates to this house unless it’s something that I personally want. I don’t care about resale. I hope to live in this house till I die. If I have to sell it, somebody else will probably come in and change everything anyway, so they can do it on their time and their dime.
9:24 I knew this one was coming 😭 please make a whole video about working with gray floors! My husband and I just bought our first home but alllll the floors are gray. They are brand new so it's not our priority to replace them right now.
Good idea for a video!!!! I hope Garrett does something more on this. I think gray-colored wood floors are hideous. I loved how he had some great pointers on working with gray floors. But a whole video would be fascinating to watch on this topic because it's a problem for so many people. Thankfully I do not have gray flooring, but I will be looking for another home in a couple of years and I'm really hoping to avoid any place with gray flooring. But so many people have already put them in. 🤮 This is a source of anxiety for me.
Garrett has lots of good ideas…. I have grey floors by choice… 10 years ago I took the plunge…. I still love them and with a lot of Garrett tips… I have been able to modernize them. Thanks for sharing ❤
@@nitamccall9289 That's great to know. I hate them with a passion. I'll be house hunting in 2-3 years and I'm terrified of finding an otherwise great place but that also has gray floors. I'm googling to find examples of ways that people have made them work. I've had a lot of anxiety over this, so your comment gives me hope.
…looking around the house and seeing all the pocket rod curtains my mom recently put up from ikea, lol. The good news is I’m 99% sure the newer curtain have a sort or convertible top so I can change them to pinch pleats!
I have grey floors, but they were done poorly, and the floor is sinking in, so now I'm thinking black woodgrain tile. Since I have to redo the subfloor/floor anyway. 😅😂
I don’t know a single person that put in gray floors that actually like them now. Not one. I’m sure that some people like them and that’s good for them, but I hate them. I always have. It’s like a visceral negative response. It took a while to find something besides gray when I was looking to update my floors.
Good Noon Garrett, Thank you for the vlog. Love to end the 2024 with your devilish mode 😈 😍😘 I liked it and can’t wait for the abundance of you and your design sessions in 2025. Wishing you, your husband, Arden & Cornealius a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2025. Keep shining ♥️
Happy New Year to you,and your family! Thanks for all your support this past year. I want to take the channel to the next level in 2025! We will be making some changes. 🎉🎉🎉
I hung curtains to replace old broken folding doors for my closet, and I love the ease of use - but I also had to buy hooks to convert them to pleats. All the difference in the world! I appreciate the link to reasonably priced window treatments as well. I really need something for my kitchen windows - they currently get stuck in that stupid connector area & I have to use a utensil to open and close them. 😡 But they replaced broken disgusting plastic blinds that were so long they bunched up about 3 inches at the bottom, so…. Using this video as inspiration and excuse to update! ❤
I don't mind a bit of tufting but have found they collect all the dog/cat/chinchilla/rabbit fur, absolute pain to clean. My NY resolution is to make my decor choices with ease of cleaning as priority - a clean & tidy home is always in style. Maybe that's a good topic for a video? Wishing you and your gorgeous family a Happy New Year and look forward to your videos in 2025😘 P.S Jute cushion covers - yay or nay?
Good Heavens. My grey floors are over 11 years old. I have tile. I want to consult with you for my kitchen design but, now I’m nervous you’ll laugh uncontrollably. I was going for coffeehouse vibes.
I’m non judgmental. I never laugh at what anyone has done with their home. I suggest reading my reviews, and I would love to assist you. Hope to do a virtual consultation with you. It would be my pleasure. Happy New Year!🎉🎉🎉
But on a pinched pleat don’t I need hooks? Don’t they need the rods with sliding plastic tabs? 🥺 Please no fake plant 🙏🏻 I planted white Camellias to cut their blooms to float
Hello 👋 I have two tufted sofas but only on the back, I love them but two was and is enough. You really can’t stand those gray floors 😂 you’re on fire, but on point. Great video 😊
Another reason to hate pampas grass is that when it's growing, it's where rats and wasps love to live. So you may be getting rat molecules with that pampas grass.
I would recommend speaking to some licensed and experienced flooring refinishing contractors about coming to your home to see what is possible in your situation and advise you including of course the total cost in writing of any solutions.

I must have missed the episode when you left your villain era…😅😎❤

@@nogames8982I’m with you.
Agree on all of these items. And pampass grass rant was priceless, haha

Tufting on the seat is so uncomfortable! Made that mistake once… only once!

I don't like grey either for walls or floors. I'm going to take out my floors, but I'm undevided yet as to what to put down. Maybe wood.
The time and place for gray floors 👏👏👏
Yes, 2020 and in your shower room.😊
Yes, let's work with what we have: save $ and less consumerism. Garrett's ideas always worth listening to

Not unless you want to show every speck of dust and debris 24/7. Invest in a robot vac if you do.
@@kgbalapahas3478Absolutely true. I can attest to it.
Pampas grass sheds all over your house. It’s bad feng shui too.
I am so over the all neautral! Give me some color please. I once put cat tails in my home and they exploded and took me forever to clean it up.
I loove the thumbnail! 😍 Made me watch this video. 🤗
Glad you liked it!! Thank you.
Happy new year to you guys!!!! ❤🎉
Same to you!🎉🎉🎉
In 2000 I had a tall vase with pampas grass for about 6 months. It was messy and sort of disintegrated. I guess it's cheap ( or free ) decor.

To me, gray flooring gives a depressing mood to a home
I love some warm grey large profile 36” square tile I saw and think I will use them in an upcoming update.
I cut my pampas at the side of some railroad tracks. Long stalks. Still love it.😃

I would like to add curtains that look like accordion doors to the list of things to leave behind.

Here in the Kingdom you can barely walk in someone’s house without seeing faux eucalyptus leaves. It must be a geographical thing 😊
LOL I have grey floors in my kitchen from 1998!
I have a real olive tree because it was a birthday gift from a friend. The problem is I have to keep a less than attractive grow light on it in winter
🤨🤨🤨
you could try a grow light bulb which can go in a standard lamp. I've got one in a nice floor lamp, looks more polished than standard grow lamps
No more gray anything!
No fake or dead plants. I do have tulips in three rooms right now! 🥰
