Please tell us what your music has done for Jamaica?. Bob and the others must be turning in their graves, they have left such a good legacy behind, but all his fellow countrymen and women can do is to slaughter each other. You guys are disrespecting the ancestors.

The days of Reggae and Dancehall being unprotected and unstructured have overstayed their welcome. It’s time for a new era of Dancehall where it is more business minded and has an iron fist on greedy and unfair exploitation.
With every era there are somethings we lose from the previous era and stuff we gain for the future. We should not fear this as it is inevitable. As long as we keep core culture as in our beliefs and values in place then the sky is the limit but we must be serious about this genre of music.
If money is the issue then we need to fund it ourselves. Grouping our money together will be enough for a good start! One man alone can’t do it. Don’t matter if ur a billionaire! One hand cya clap.
So the flossing and materialism needs to take a back-seat and our focus needs to be reshaped to thinking long term. Eventually investors will see our music as an attractive investment but we as a collective have to make the first move!

I love Buju as perhaps one of the top 5 from Jamaica. I don’t respect him always talking about others who sings reggae, if people like it the will sing it and they have their own thoughts. Some of us are born with reggae already established, same way Buju was influenced and inspired others will be. Next thing is that other people other than Jamaican are amazing reggae artist too. Joaquin "Quino" , Lucky Dube, J-Boog, I think UB-40, Steel Pulse, Collie Buddz and more. The credit goes to Jamaican
    artist like Buju and
before Him, Jimmy Clif, Bob, Bunny, Tosh and lots more. Some of the instruments used wasn’t made in Jamaica, some of the sound wasn’t first made in Jamaica and nobody is saying it. Many white people love Buju and I don’t think he should knock people making music, he should continue knocking negative lyrics. If Afro music didn’t uplift Africa to him he’s wrong, if it’s not negative and it makes people dance and be happy it’s uplifting. Might not be educating but we are all different and uplifting comes in many ways. Lucky Dube is African and if we measure Buju against him it would be unfair. I love Buju music, love his voice and mostly love his positivity but not in the regard of knocking others. Be great and continue to lead the way, reggae was created in Jamaica the same way the English we speak isn’t ours, the Spanish or any language it’s ours. I say set yourself apart with your lyrics and not feel fear of inclusion because you’re one of the best. If you want to sell music in America or any other country it’s American money, people are willing to give money for your music and I bet you will not say this money was made for Americans. I’m from Belize , I love reggae and will sing reggae because I was born with reggae just like some in Europe and America.

civil war has forced many of the displaced to seek shelter in the desert..
The analogy of eating gras was to show the desperate situation facing this population.
No disrespect to your gues was intended!!

But you have no place to judge the AFRoBEAT genre. Reflect on your freedom after jail and make amends.
Stop 🛑 being a cringy HATER of the Afrobeats genre.
