Idk if you've looked inside the oil reserve chamber. There's supposed to be a rope in there that wicks the oil into the jack. I'm betting it fell on through leaving the open hole for the oil to flow through. Probably could just add another stretch of cotton rope.
There is a wick type thing (basically shoved into a hole) down inside of the area under the sight glass, that is supposed to pass through to control how much oil gets down into the hammer area of the tool. There is a possibility that your oil leaking could be caused by that getting knocked partially or completely out of place, allowing to much oil to flow through.
My Milwaukee rotary hammer just took a dump on me after a year. I'd think I've got 5 hours (give or take) on it as well. That being said, if I can't get it replaced this think seems kind of enticing for the price. $150-200 with 4-6 various bits vs $400 with no bits 🤷
Well think you just got a bad one because I have sane on going on 3 yrs no issues no leaks no issues I have used it professionally in my sign company have about 60hrs on it cord is small gauge have upgraded it 12 guage short with a twist lock plug then use 10 guage extension cord on it wow what difference what I found people use to light say 16 guage 100ft cord on power tools better choice 14gauge or 12 gauge cord short as possible . I bought it for the cheap price tired of renting has worked for me , as for the leak it should not be hard to fix either gasket or o-ring or buy another from Amazon and return it or reach out to company surely they help .
IT'S BLEEEEDING, PUT A BAND AID ON IT, MEDIC! Er, put a new o-ring on it. Most jackhammers leak at the seal. In fact, it's a good sign that oil makes it out to the front. There's some magic pneumatics inside that require plenty of oil and loose tolerances for the 'piston' to fly fast.
@@DereksWorkshopAndProjects Interesting. I just ordered a Vevor. Probably all made in the same factory. I'm going g to fab up a cradle mount for my backhoe. Wellies. Have you tried a significantly thicker oil? Just for shits and giggles. Like if you still have the first one you bought. Anyways, thank you for the update and reply. I'll make sure I'm subbed to your channel.
@@DereksWorkshopAndProjects I was just thinking. Maybe try dosing it with bacon grease. Make the young guy running it for you appreciate lunch all day. Hahaha.

I know exactly what your talking about and it was definitely still there at the time I made this video.

Hmm. I need to open it up again and see if I can just replace a seal and fix this issue. Glad yours is working out for ya.
These things are trash.

I wonder if the oil wick is missing or some how ajar.
I ended up getting another one. Same exact issue.
