    If you put a small double-folded piece of paper under the securing rubber band, you have something to pull on and easily remove the band from the lid - leaving more of the reusable tin foil :D I leave sub :D

    I have never seen anyone open the lid after sterilizing.Why did you put a hole in then top if you would not inject in the hole in the lid? For air exchange?

      @@ezmushroom I thought you wanted to prevent air from getting into the spawn jars? Please explain

    • @ezmushroom
      @ezmushroom  4 месяца назад

      @@OriginalCatfish42 The hole is covered in micropore tape which blocks of contaminants.
      Also, you can open a jar inside a still air box for a second or two to inoculate with no problems.

    Noob question.. how soon were these grain jars inoculated after sterilization? And is there any risk of contaminants from not wiping down the lids after removal of the foil before inoculating?

    • @ezmushroom
      @ezmushroom  Месяц назад

      Id consider them sterile aslong as the foil is fully covering them until they reach sab. Never caused me any issues.

    Use polyfil it makes this so much easier

    Why not inoculate both sides of the jar?
    It would colilonize faster.

    • @ezmushroom
      @ezmushroom  Год назад +1

      Normally I give my jars a light shake once they've got the lid on, so I would just inject 2cc instead of one.
      However I agree you could quickly inject both sides for a faster colonization.

      Why not inoculate all sides of the jar? It would colonize even faster! Lol doesn’t matter if you break and shake at 30%

      It's a matter of time. You want the lid open no longer than absolutely nessasay. Quick quick, shake it as much as you want later.
