  • Recorded on 8/26/2023. This is an interactive dark ride made by Sally Dark Rides. It was themed to Scooby Doo from 2004 to 2009. Sally Dark Rides was rehired to retheme the ride and eliminate the Scooby Doo IP. The ride has been know as Boo Blasters on Boo Hill since 2010. During the retheme some new effects were added. The only new effect to be maintained by the park is the CGI Boocifer at the beginning of the ride. A fog screen with another CGI boocifer was added to the end of the ride however the park has failed to maintain the effect. An entire new ending scene was also introduced featuring an animatronic Boocifer and beautiful custom ending music and a black light to white light transition. The park has maintained none of this and the entire conclusion of the ride is an awkward silence. This is a beautiful interactive dark ride that the park has failed to maintain. This is not the fault of the maintenance staff as they have to work with what the park and corporate provides them. They are able to keep the ride running and functioning properly for year-round operations and I appreciate them greatly for that. This is a problem with the funding Cedar Fair provides for their dark rides. They should seriously consider a complete rehab of the interactive and show elements of the ride while preserving the story line created by Sally Dark Rides.

That skeleton scene would have been so cool if it worked. It's frustrating that a park expects people to pay for this experience. I don't like when parks treat customers like idiots by providing slightly less than the bare minimum.

It is quite annoying having so much of the ride broken. I had always heard Cedar Fair was so much better than Six Flags but Six Flags does a way better job maintaining their dark rides. I think Kings Dominion may be starting to slowly fix the effects since the audio for the FogScreen effect has returned as well as the flashing LED blacklights for the skeletons. Hopefully one day all the effects and music cues will return. I blame Cedar Fair corporate and not the park's maintenance team for the broken ride experience.
