For the record, he didn't assassinate Gandhi for some tax money. The reason why he assassinated him is quite obvious and known to all.
Gandhi was a good, nationalist man but he did make some terrible mistakes in his time. Saying he was all good isn't true. Good always comes with a little evil. He was a freedom fighter of India but he's also the one who'll be blamed for the partition. He wasn't the founder of India cause India was always there. Yes, he made British leave but at the cost of half of India which some people think was a huge cost and rightly so.
So, all and all, it's not always black and white. Sometimes there's gray as well in between.

RSS says Hindu and Muslim are two separate nation. Muslim League says that Muslims will face exploitation in Hindu majority ruled state. BJP says that Gandhi, Congress did the partition of the country and innocent people also believe in the idea, which Gandhi does not believe in.
What is the problem, I will tell you , people had so much faith in Gandhi that he started feeling that Gandhi can convince not only the Congress but also the Muslim League, Hindu organizations and the British with his idea. At times it seemed that Gandhi would be successful, but the communal forces had become so strong that this could not happen.

RSS was not really a strong force at the time of partition since it was founded in the year 1925 only and RSS never claimed that Hindu and Muslim are two separate nations. In fact, The whole idea of separate nations and identity arose a little before and after the partition only. And we can see who had that two nation idea by looking at the numbers of Muslim population in India and Hindu population in Pakistan today.
The point is very simple, if Gandhi is taking the credit of freedom then he'll have to take the blame for partition as well cause that happened as the cost of independence.
Now, I'm not saying Gandhi was a bad man but saying that he didn't make mistakes is quite stupid.

The right thing to believe is that Muslim communal parties were much stronger than Hindu communal parties. If Hindu communal forces were strong then India would probably be a Hindu nation, or the country was in three pieces. But if the reason for the separation is a communal basis, its responsible forces are also the same.
Your point is really very simple, the one who should be given the credit for independence should also give the blame of partition, the one who should get the credit for uniting the country and walking together for freedom should also be considered as the reason for partition. The one who should be given credit for establishing communal harmony, should also be given credit for instigating the riots.

Godse killed Gandhi because he was dividing community & appeasing to Muslims a lot when lot of Hindus were getting killed after partition aftermath. Godse was trying to actually bring Unity and all communities in one umbrella but Gandhi was doing totally opposite & making his attempts fail. Just like Congress, AAP & other left parties do today, i am glad Godse did right thing.

But in maharashtra specifically Gandhis stance about vinayak damodar savarkar was wrong.he said that savarkar agreed with britishers but no one researched background.even when savarkar opposed caste system Gandhi supported caste system.Savarkar was 1st to retaliate against britishers and killed the British officer who killed thousands in Maharashtra in London and he was the one who produced subhash Chandra bose and lokmanya Tilak.
