It’s sad that thrift stores are marking up their prices, it’s a thrift store, they get their items donated to them. They are not antique shops or high end stores. The whole purpose of thrifty shopping is to find gently used items at an affordable price.

That’s astronomical for the price of crystal. Come to Canada for garage sales. They can’t give away the crystal items. Dirt cheap. My motto for discounts is: it doesn’t hurt anything to ask. If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

Some really nice finds. When you talk about loving brass I get taken back to Saturdays with my grandma, my job was to clean all of her horse brasses, kettles, warming pans and candle sticks with Brasso (she had a huge collection). You can probably guess I don't have any brass- have a lovely week.
The copper pot is a scuttle. The porcelain pot is a small soup tureen. I wouldn’t ditch the ?finials on the candlesticks nor would I paint the candle sticks. You have a great eye for things. Also, you should go back & purchase the other two giraffes. Loved your lightbulb idea.
Oh, thank you for sharing that, I’d not heard that name before. About 2 yrs ago I had seen fireplace tools and had no idea what they were either😂 Growing up in the islands will do that to you 🤣🫣

You sent so many beautiful pieces and the art piece you created with your daughter is my favorite and is sitting on my coffee table right this minute. My sister fell in love with the blue and white vase and although it was hard, I gifted it to her and shared my blessing. Its really unfortunate, I agree. There are so many families that get their clothing from the thrift but greed has taken over.😏😠
