    Being a manufacturing consultant and "expert" I was a bit surprised at the level of automation that Yonex employs. This is a considerable investment in their production operations and a stark contrast to the other big manufacturers who simply utilize low cost labor to make their products (thus resulting in much more variation in their racquets.) I suspect that Yonex controls all aspects of their production processes to such tight tolerances that they actually do not have to do too much inspection or tweaking the racquets to get them to spec. This video demonstrates how Yonex achieve the best quality racquets in the industry.

      @vartonsfc3000 3 года назад +5

      I visited the YONEX factory regularly in the 1990s and early 2000s. The level of automation was much, much lower than in this video, but they already had the reputation for quality and consistency. Like you and other commenters have said, I think the most important factor is having their own factory and training their own workforce, giving them complete control over the production process.

    This attention to detail and strict regulations is why Yonex is superior to all other racquet companies in terms of quality control. You can pick up two sticks (of the same model) and they will be identical or as close to identical as possible. On the other hand, pick up 2 Wilson's or Babolats and there will be all kinds of whacky differences (one stick is heavier, swing-weight is off, balance is too head light/heavy, etc.) Will be a Yonex user for life!

    I used Wilson racquets from the Jack Kramer wood racquets through the frame Sampras used and was a Wilson guy until a friend showed asked me to try a Yonex demo he was thinking about getting. I loved it but it seemed too light. Then I found out that you could get same racquets with added weight. They were super and bought six for playing tournaments. It was great at serving, rallying and volleys which suited my all court game. No regrets in the purchase, I played better than ever before. I’ve been sectionally ranked in juniors and Men’s open tournaments. My only regret, I suffered a spinal cord injury accident and found out that modern medicine sucks at treating the injury. It was frustrating for many reasons but my tennis days were over. I keep my racquets/bag visible during daily PT and I keep hoping for the best. It’s been 10 years since I set foot on a court and I miss many things but playing with my Yonex racquets is one of them! As an ex player and instructor, I really loved playing with them. I also realize that every player’s game is a little different but I would recommend trying out a demo along with some comparison racquets.

    I have been a pro instructor the last 40 years and was sponsored from Wilson for over 20 years. When I tried to turn pro I collected Wilson Pro Staffs 4.2... the weight was different on practically every racket
    . I called up Wilson and said your quality control is horrible.
    I then gave them the idea to sell two rackets that are matched pair the Pro Staff 6.1 was the first one they did it with ....they gave me no credit however but their quality controls continue to go downhill and I switched to Head !
    I've been with Head the last 20 years, but both my kids are playing college tennis have switched to Yonex. 😊

    I just got back into tennis for the first time in years. Couldn’t find the right racket. Borrowed a friends 2019 vcore 95 and it changed my game, it seriously was like I made massive improvements over night. I made a trade for the racket now I’m looking for another one brand new

    Recently saw the Head factory tour where you had a Speed MP made. This Yonex factory makes Head look like a little 'mom & pop' store. Of course I realise most head racquets are made elsewhere. Outsourced to China IIRC

    I wish my 2 sticks of Pure Strike was made with this kinda precision...I had to balance both the racquets so much just get then to perform similarly but still not identical...Even the grip size was slightly off betwen the 2.

    Do they use over-under combinations to minimise weight deviations? I.e. if a hairpin is 3g heavy, attach a 1g light grommet strip and a 2g light grip, which are quite common variations in my experience?

      I tried a VCore Pro 100 today. Like a Clash done properly (I find the Clash inaccurate). Excellent buttery communicative feel with plenty of spin yet predictability - and was fine on my vibration sensitive arm, not even a hint of soreness.

    • @przemekpluta
      @przemekpluta 3 года назад

      @@3Slippers interesting. played with vcore pro 97 the one with 330 grams and it felt stiff. vcore pro RA is at 66 while clash is at 55, makes big difference to me. But agree on the clash lack of accuracy. May give vcore pro another go, but don't expect it to be as clash since technology differs here a lot
