0:00 preparing your car on the Pit Lane (you can literally hear torque wrenches in the percussions lol) 0:47 getting into the starting grid 1:09 lights go green, all racers launch 2:25 last lap, struggling to get into P1 while watching out for debris on the track
The evolution of this song throughout the franchise (ignoring 2019 as always) has been epic. Gets you hyped up before something even happens, and this dynamic version constantly makes you panic when 2nd and 3rd catch up to you.
I still don't get why 2019 is considered as "terrible" yes it's not as amazing as Race Driver Grid nor Grid 2, but it's not bad and it's still better than Motorsport it's still fun to play, it looks good, driving physics are just different, they're not worse or better than other games in the franchise(and I honestly prefer break2drift in Grid 2 to RDGrid's handling), it's filled with events, and it does scratch the nostalgia even a little bit it is very bland in comparison to other franchises, but it doesn't mean the game itself is awful, not standing out is not a bad thing I have almost 70 hours in the game, just so you know
I have almost 50 in the game largely from putting off playing it. I guess besides being a departure in those areas, it doesn't seem to put much effort into the same things. The race engineer is inferior and lacks a personality (especially if we're comparing via the first two). The events list is just a... list of events. It doesn't bother trying to make it interesting, you just get them there which culls motivation and interest. Handling at least for me feels too stiff and lifeless in most cars and behaviour feels almost too artificial. The experience feels very barebones - you're racing but in the previous three games (maybe less so Autosport) there was at least given context and, again, motivation. In-race commentary is so repetitive that I've heard the same lines at least twice per race, sometimes thrice (compare this to the original's variations depending on location, I believe there's at least 3 separate ones). In-race music is non-existent (in fairness I think Autosport lacks this too to a point) but there's basically only one theme throughout the entire game, and after a while the novelty wears off (the first, second and third games - hell, even the DS version had multiple songs), so there's a distinct lack of dynamic themes such as here. Ravenwest don't feel like the threat they used to be so the final races feel pretty arbitrary - I don't recall even encountering them, if I have it's not memorable. (GRID 2 lacked this but it brought its own hardcore rivals so it did do something - if 2019 brought back Ravenwest it would've been worth doing it right). As a personal preference the stewards inquiries are annoying and leaving the result to post-race is bizzare - although that's ultimately more subjective, I guess. The lack of a modern take on Racenet was weird, and it hasn't done the multiplayer much of a favour as it seems to be pretty empty. The racing feels fairly arbitrary. The Nemesis system feels more like it's there to react to contact than have AI that will actually have variations in difficulty, aggression, skill and risk - they all just pile into the corner like in Forza Motorsport's lower difficulties and will only fight you properly once you've annoyed them. In the previous games they'd do this themselves so they felt alive and well-built. As a side, the contact physics are shite. Walls, other cars, the friction coefficient feels like it's multiplied by seventy and it punishes you for anything slight, so you're more so doing a time trial with others in the way and occasionally hitting them. It's not meant to be a ramming simulator, but it's too punishing. And the selection of events... two types. Races and time trials. No drifting (a staple of the franchise), eliminations, challenge events (overtaking, distance covered - they're invitationals like in GRID 2 and Racenet but are a lot more varied than just changing the class of cars), so again, bland. But... I can't complain if anyone else loves the game, that's not for me to decide. I hate this game but whenever I get caught up in the franchise I inevitably return to it. It's all subjective anyway, but there's what I think of it.
*You are in the last race of the season, your rival and lifelong friend are only separated by one point for the championship, both have the best cars on the starting grid, at the starting line already in your car, minutes before the race begins you see how the first drops of what many assume will be a simple passing shower fall on your windshield, but nothing could be further from the truth, a real storm is looming with the sun almost hidden by the night* Are you going to succumb to the pressure or are you going to become the new world champion?????
@@Zhawn7 Ace Combat on the race track IMO. Just need more frantic radio noises and commentary, about twice of that from Legends and it'll be one hell of an experience.
This is like Ace Combat boss music but for a racing game. I love it!
The best song made for a racing game without any doubts, especially in the last lap. Powerful and glorious

jesus christ that's a long comment
@@Shockblade95I mean why would you play 2019 when Legends is there and better in every single way?
This sounds like a final boss theme
that's because it is, lol.
Lol I play this game in ps3 but my ps3 got yellow ligth of death
:(
I will always remeber epic moments
Coincidentally it plays in the final race against Ravenwest at Le Mans xD
finally, I beat this game. this game real fun, have great gameplay progression, damage model, flashback feature, team and sponsor
It all about some laps on the limit, car tounching exchanging paint, no scape area, dangerous high speed pursuit and defense of the lead.
Most of these views were from me.
And me!
This would be perfect for a long canyon duel

This is excellent. Thanks so much for uploading. I hope you do more of these in the future, GRID had an awesome soundtrack.

I'm getting Strike Force Heroes vibes from this Song for some reason
it fits perfectly
There are more variations to this soundtrack, like "first place, second place, final lap first place, final lap last place" and so on.
This SCREAMS Ridge Racer!
Nah, Ridge Racer's soundtrack doesn't go this hard. I mean it does go hard (see "Disco Ball") but not "orchestral techno" hard.
