I realize I am late to this conversation, but I would like to answer a few of your questions while using words you mentioned in your video. The first question: Can you relate to this story? Yes, I can. Tucking in their shirt was the most appropriate, recommended way especially in an old socialist country I grew up. But the other day, my husband said "I will tuck you in bed. My mom always tucked me in bed....". It was such a lovely gesture when I was recovering from covid. The second question: Is this kind of videos helpful in improving your English? The answer is absolutely. When the student is ready a teacher appears. I am trying to move to an advanced level and one of my goals is to LEARN to listen carefully and practice to tell or even record (as you suggested) stories or answers. Today I wrote. Next time I might record instead and listen myself. Thank you so much for your insightful suggestions. When I was in school, our teachers always use to tell us to tuck in our t-shirts, cut and trim our nails and wear clean shoes. And those who don't are made to do that. Yes, this kind of lessons are really helpful because it help us to learn new words, idioms, phrases and lots more. Also this helps us to improve our English listening skills. You not just only told us a small story about your early experience but also an English learning lesson. Surprisingly I got it. Your way of teaching is different from ours in school, because English is our second language. We learned many years in English but found only little opportunity to use and practise it. We finally could only read and write, but couldn’t speak English fluently. But there is hope for us in the future.
I'm from Buenos Aires. I have subscribed to the channel and watched a few videos! I will try to explain my experience about learning english; maybe someone can feel represented. I think my self like a 2/3 year old. The child can understand when someone speaks to him, or someone asks him something, but lacks resources to have a conversation yet. Well, i hope still growing up! Thanks!
That is a good way to describe it. Like a child if you start saying what you can without being afraid to make a mistake you will learn more quickly. This is one of the reasons it is said that children can learn a language "better" than an adult!
Thanks for your teaching me how I can learn Egnlish in a natural way. I am a Taiwanese. Although I have learn English for tens of years, but l still can't speak Egnlish fluently. and, I can't uderstand what the BBC news report speak. I would like to recommend an old and very useful method of learning any foreign language. It's about cards of different colors. For example I use yellow cards for nouns, blue for verbs, violet for adjectives/adverbs, pink for idioms. On the front side, there is a word and meaning in English, on the other side an example. One box for words that one has to repeat every day and the other for easier words to be repeated twice a week. It helps a lot. I also wrote the text using these words to use them in context. Still writing, there are always new words 😊😊😊
Hi! Is your name Snezana! This is teacher Tanya. It's great that you have found a method that works for you and it sounds like you like doing it! Keep doing what works!
I suggest you name the series as "Learn English by Stories". I think this series will be very helpful for English learners, because, as you mentioned, learn English in contexts is very important, and makes English more understandable and approachable.
Many decades ago the bikini in Chile was in trend and the bishops from Valparaiso and Viña del Mar tried to stop it.... There was a lot of controversy on radio and the newspapers.... Today nobody cares, it is so normal. I learned in this lesson tucked and untucked shirt. I appreciate your natural way to explain things and speaking. Hi Tanya! I'm living in Nicaragua and last week i began to learn English by myself. So, I'm glad i found you! The listening Is hard for me, but i did understand mostly of your chat because your pronunciation Is so clear. May be this series can be named "Let's chat" "I tell you a story". Here in schools Is a reality yet, teachers can check nails, hair, skirts lenght, shirt Tuck on, shoes,... I appreciate so much you want yo give your knowledge to us, thank you!
Thank you for the lesson. First at all, can you help to make sentences with the new expression you' ve taught (tuck). Now I will try to make some sentences, I am spanish speaker and I'm trying to learn english. My fisrt related story My wife ask me all the time to tuck the shirt into my trousers. She thinks I look better in that way. But I really prefer to use my shirts untucked because it's more confortable for me. Hopping the best for you.
Great examples! Here is another example. Some students are required to tuck in the shirt for a school uniform but others can leave the shirts untucked!
Hello from France ! Thank you for this very helpful video ! I love listening to stories in English I think it’s a good way to train myself. I totally relate to your story. When I was at school studying English our teachers considered li was bad to use gonna or wanna in a conversation. It’s so different today. (I’m 59 by the way).
The problem at that time was tuck or untuck the shirts. Now the problem is not to wear the shirts. You are fantastic and It's a great, useful video.Thank you for making this video
I like the way you speak clearly and i appreciate listening to experiences of life ,in the past and currently . I am thinking ,now ,there is a tendency ,to tuck one piece of shirt and untuck the another ..in the same time ...but it's for trendy persons who are fashionable ...(I saw it in a fashion TV show ...) Thanks and have a good day

Thanks a lot from Russia! Your manner of speaking is charming. I found myself repeating your sentences throughout the video and writing it down. Stories are the great idea of language practising.
For me, keep learning English in a happy way is doing something interesting, I started to read the American comic first, I almost remembered all the stories, especially the affair between Spider-Man and Wolverine. Later, I read the high-school level fiction which excited my interest. Now, I'm an adult I know to try harder. This is the way to keep learning English. By the way, your channel is very useful. I guess you must have a good experience of teaching foreign students English.
I love your English, I think I reinforce it listening to you, your accent is very clean though I know that depends upon the region where you live is the type of accent, yours is wonderful if all the Americans had your accent it would be so easy for me to understand any person but it’s not in that way and there’s no other way that trying to train our ears with the different accents, congratulations, how I wish to talk to you so that I can practice the language.
Thanks for your video🙏. The serial might be called, “Using American English to narrate American’s lives” or “How American use English in their everyday lives” or “ or”Americans share their thoughts on American life” or “Experiencing American culture through American’s viewpoints” , something like that.
Thank you so much!!! I was getting really frustrated thinking that I don't had enough vocabulary to understand English but I understood everything you said and enjoyed every second of your story. People lives running in every sense and speaking fast is not the exception.
@@EnglishCoach3Ts Yes, great help, thank you! I have very good vocabulary but not enough when it comes to listen the news on TV. Then I realized that I miss a lot of info and I can only grasp the general idea.
Yes. Is absolutely helpful because it put the pressure out of been in absolute focus like a regular class does, with videos like this it feels much more easily to grasp just letting your mind to keep track on the story itself. I really like it. Keep it up!!
Hi Tanya! I found your youtube channel recently. Your videos that I’ve watched are so helpful to me. I’m going to watch more. I can related your story because I studied Architecture in university as well. And I spend so much time in my classroom just like you. I’v been there for more than 72 hours continuously once . That was crazy. Your story made me back to 3 decades ago. Thanks for your lessons. I like them.
@@EnglishCoach3Ts Thank you so much for your reply. Yes I practiced architecture after I graduated from university. I had been working for a building design company as an architect for almost 20 years. And then transferred to the quality control and IT support for the designers. And now I’m retired so I had enough time to do my favorite things just like learning English and playing piano. I’m enjoying it so much.
When I listen to you speak I understand you clearly. Listening to you from now on will be an excellent experience for learning to listen and speak. Thank you.
* Can you relate to this story? Can you remember a similar story? When I first started working as a civil servant, I should have not bleached or dyed with noticeable colors. A civil servant should be tidy and simple all the time and bleached or dyed hair was considered not only inappropriate but a bad thing. At that time at school, if students had dyied thier hairs, they would have been expelled with stamping them as troublemakers. Today I wouldn’t even be talking about because it is so normal to bleach or dye my hair although I’m still a civil servant. 1 Is this kind of video lesson helpful for you? Why or why not? This video is really helpful for me. Although I tried to memorize words or phrases through special methods, it was really difficult to remember. But when I learned them through conversation, I could continue to remember. Like you said that is because I was learning them in context. So if you make this kind of English video lesson, it would be fantastic. 2 What do you think I should call this series? I’d like to call this series “Tell me about you”. At first you tell us your story, and then we can tell you our story like you did on this video clip. 3 Any suggestions to make this lesson better? I think It would be better if the story-telling is a 2-3 minute clip. With this video clip, I did shadowing and it helped me a lot. So if the clip is too long, it will be difficult to give it a try. And if you open a shadowing challenge on Instagram, it will be helpful for other learners who want to try to the shadowing. For instance, if it is a 3 minute clip, we can divide into six parts, which is 30 minutes. And for six days, challengers will upload their shadowing reels on Instagram.
Seiki, great job practicing your English. Just a couple of things to change. *dyed their hair. - we don't say hairs - plural with an s. and I think we would have "labeled" them troublemakers. There may be people who say stamped but I haven't heard it. Thank you so much for all your great suggestions! You ROCK!
Speaking English naturally, telling short stories = learning vocabulary in context is no longer boring. It's an excelent tool! 👌
I totally agree! Thank you for your feedback!

Hi Tanya, for me this videos are very helpful, and also i watch them not only once but also, many cases 2 or 3 times more. Always you pick something new, the same as when you read a book twice. Best regards.
Thank you so much!
At first ,thank you for your videos and your new method, second this your story could help me how to use several tenses, such as past perfect continuous ( i have been studying architecture)❤❤❤
That's so awesome. Thank you for your comment!
Hi Tanya! I'm living in Nicaragua and last week i began to learn English by myself. So, I'm glad i found you! The listening Is hard for me, but i did understand mostly of your chat because your pronunciation Is so clear.

Here in schools Is a reality yet, teachers can check nails, hair, skirts lenght, shirt Tuck on, shoes,...

Thank you for your comment. It is great to hear your ideas and a little about your country. I look forward to chatting more soon!
That is a good idea, thanks for shared with us
You're welcome
Thank you for the lesson. First at all, can you help to make sentences with the new expression you' ve taught (tuck). Now I will try to make some sentences, I am spanish speaker and I'm trying to learn english. My fisrt related story
My wife ask me all the time to tuck the shirt into my trousers. She thinks I look better in that way. But I really prefer to use my shirts untucked because it's more confortable for me.
Hopping the best for you.
Great examples! Here is another example. Some students are required to tuck in the shirt for a school uniform but others can leave the shirts untucked!
Definitely, this video lesson is very useful for me Ma'am. Thank you
I am so glad to hear that! Thank you for letting me know!
Hi Patty! Nice to meet your here! You are so right! It's still hard for me to teach gonna or wanna but they are so common now! (I'm 56)

Thank you for your comment. I appreciate hearing from you!
I like the way you speak clearly and i appreciate listening to experiences of life ,in the past and currently . I am thinking ,now ,there is a tendency ,to tuck one piece of shirt and untuck the another ..in the same time ...but it's for trendy persons who are fashionable ...(I saw it in a fashion TV show ...) Thanks and have a good day
Yes, Nicole! I have seen that too. It is trendy. Do you prefer to wear your shirt tucked in our hanging out?
@@EnglishCoach3Ts I don't want be influenced by a tendency ...I just want to feel suitable ,confident and comfortable with my outfit ...!Thanks for your answer ,...I am French and very happy to learn English !

Thank you for sharing some of your experiences. I have done these same things to learn my second language.

I need to say that it was a very useful video.
Thanks a lot for shared !!!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for letting me know!
Thanks for your video🙏. The serial might be called, “Using American English to narrate American’s lives” or “How American use English in their everyday lives” or “ or”Americans share their thoughts on American life” or “Experiencing American culture through American’s viewpoints” , something like that.
Karma, thank you for sharing your ideas. These are very helpful. I am learning a lot about how to title RUclips videos.

Thank you so much!!! I was getting really frustrated thinking that I don't had enough vocabulary to understand English but I understood everything you said and enjoyed every second of your story. People lives running in every sense and speaking fast is not the exception.
Glad it helped! If you can understand what I am saying then you have a lot of vocabulary. Practice using the vocabulary you have!
@@EnglishCoach3Ts Yes, great help, thank you! I have very good vocabulary but not enough when it comes to listen the news on TV. Then I realized that I miss a lot of info and I can only grasp the general idea.
I love your lesson, thanks
Thank you, Jenny!

Thank you for your message and thank you for watching. Do you practice architecture now?
@@EnglishCoach3Ts Thank you so much for your reply. Yes I practiced architecture after I graduated from university. I had been working for a building design company as an architect for almost 20 years. And then transferred to the quality control and IT support for the designers. And now I’m retired so I had enough time to do my favorite things just like learning English and playing piano. I’m enjoying it so much.
Go on, it is gonna be helpful for english learner
Thank you. Are you an English learner?
I liked very much this lesson and I am looking forward to watching you more in the future.
Thank you! 😃 I'm so glad you liked it. Hope to see you in the comments soon!

This is a great idea! Watching, listening, commenting and then practice speaking about it!
@@EnglishCoach3Ts 👍👍
Thank you Tania, your video is very useful in my English learning journey...
Happy to hear that!
You ROCK!
